Attended my brother's wedding

4.8 on September 23, 2015

My daughters and I stayed at the Inn over a long weekend. I stayed in the Nathaneal Greene Room and my daughters in The Founders Room, what a perfect setup. Everyone on staff was warm, friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and filling. This is a wonderful place to stay regardless of the reason for your trip. Springfield is a mere hour away and we took advantage of that to visit the home of Abraham Lincoln as well as the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. Thank you for the beautiful stay. Gail

Clean rooms, beautiful & historic building, excellent service

5 on September 20, 2015

We stayed for one night this weekend celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary. From the time we made the reservation until we left, we were treated with respect, care and attention. When we walked in, we were amazed by the décor and cleanliness of the place. The staff made you feel at home and were very friendly. Each room had its own theme. We stayed in the Garden View room which was very comfortable and super clean. In the morning, we ate a delicious breakfast cooked fresh for us and afterwards we chatted with the friendly owners for a while which really made us feel welcomed. There is not much to do in White hall as it is a smaller town, but we really recommend this place if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle and just relax in a quiet, comfortable and clean place.

Wedding reception

5 on August 02, 2015

My son Eric and his wife Ashley had their wedding reception at Green Gables tonight. It was wonderful. The landscape is beautiful, Luann and David as well as all the others went all out to make this a fabulous evening. The food was so delicious. I would sincerely recommend this B&B for large gatherings or just a simple getaway.

Family and High School Reunion Weekend

5 on September 03, 2014

Greene Gables Inn is a first class B&B managed with tender loving care and legitimate charm by the innkeepers, David and Lu Ann Mansfield. Beautiful rooms with all the amenities in a very large, tastefully decorated house with fascinating historical touches. Without a doubt this inn offers the best, most comfortable accommodations not only in Greene County, but in all of Southwest Central Illinois. The rates are quite reasonable for the value offered and I would recommend this establishment without hesitation to any of my friends from the Chicago area or other parts of the county who are interested in exploring the surprising number of historic and cultural attractions that are to be found in this part of the state.

week-end gathering

Long time classmates spent the week-end(4 of us) for a 50 yr.class reunion. In spite of the yucky, rainy, cold weather--we had a great time. Our reunion was held on Fri. evening, but we had the luxury to spend the night & be pampered. Wonderful 3 course breakfast..Very filling! A great place to relax & get away even if you live close by! Beautiful setting, very considerate staff & innkeeper. We'll definitely be back for another Girls week-end get away. kaywelsh

Best B&B I have stayed in!

5 on August 02, 2009

This is a tiny town, but a great B&B. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept, even have a swimming pool & fire pit. The staff was great. The breakfast was excellent. The Scarbrough Room was large and comfortable. Excellent place

Grandure In A Small Toen

5 on July 05, 2009

I've never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, but I can tell you that if I have a chance to stay in one again; they are going to have some standards to hold up to. I stayed in the Huntmaster room and it is very cozy; the bedroom is not in the room, but it is still private, you get a key. It did not bother me at all. You will love it so much, that you wont mind leaving your room to use it!

FUTURE WEDDING

5 on January 27, 2009

I am planning a wedding at the Inn this summer. Jan has been absolutely wonderful! She is so willing to take on whatever duties! She is my "behind the scenes maid of honor"!

We traveled back to my husband's hometown for a family wedding and stayed at Greene Gables Inn.

5 on November 10, 2008

Jan and Terry go over and above in the name of luxury. The Churchhill Room was lovely and so very comfortable! We enjoyed the cold water and chilled wine from the local vinyard. The breakfast was delicious and the grounds are beautiful to look at and walk through. I was also there for a bridal shower luncheon in late summer and we were seated out in the pavillion. That too, paired with the weather that day, was a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I look forward to coming back. Thanks for all the little things you do and touches you add that make the Inn such a wonderful experience. Bill & Jan Settles Wapella, IL
