My boyfriend and I stayed at the Mansion this past weekend and we had a great time. Steve, the owner, was incredibly friendly and helpful while still giving us our space. Our room was VERY clean (which is definitely appreciated when there is a whirlpool involved) and decorated in a way that fits really well with the style of the building. Steve gave us great direction the next morning about where to go and we had a fantastic time in the adorable little town. Definitely a recommended getaway.

We almost stayed in a cookie cutter hotel, but booked a night in this charming bed and breakfast instead. It was just a quick overnight stay for business, but I wish we could have stayed longer! The best parts of staying on this property were the amazing woodwork in this 1907 house and the warm, friendly innkeeper. After a quick tour and a quick tutorial on door locks, we were left on our own in complete privacy and solitude to explore the lovely mansion and enjoy our room. Afternoon tea with shortbread cookies and zucchini bread were thoughtfully left out for us. Husband deemed the zucchini bread "great." If our stay would have been longer, I would have enjoyed playing Scrabble in the library, riding our bikes around the fascinating neighborhood, and exploring the quaint little town. Steve, the innkeeper, asked us the night before what time we wanted to have breakfast and made us a delicious hot breakfast of eggs, sausage, biscuit, potatoes, coffee, and juice. We stayed in the large room with the whirlpool for two. I found the entire property very clean, and I am very picky about hotel rooms being hygienic. We would recommend this bed and breakfast for its comfortable atmosphere and clean room.

My husband and I stayed here overnight on our wedding night and it was very quiet and private even though there was another couple staying a few doors down. The rooms are not huge, but that's part of the charm of staying in an old mansion instead of the Wynn or something. We had fun exploring all of the nooks and crannies of the mansion the night we arrived; it felt like we had the run of the place. We were also offered tea and snacks of zucchini bread and cookies the night we arrived. Everything was lovely. Breakfast the next morning was very good (sausage, eggs, potatoes, and cream-cheese-and-cherry stuffed French toast, with plenty of coffee, tea, and juice available) and there was a lot of pleasant conversation with the other couple who stayed the same night. The only thing I will say is definitely come here if you want something quirky; if you're interested in sleek, modern amenities, you won't find that here. Our bathtub/shower area was a big basin with a shower head and mirrors on three of four sides, but there was no shower curtain which was kind of bizarre. I was really worried about making a huge mess when I took a shower, but it was no big deal and they left plenty of towels so it wasn't hard to clean up.

The Mansion B&B is a classic century old home that is perfectly restored with elegance and charm galore. We spent two very restful nights with a delicious breakfast. Located two short blocks from the shops and restaurants of West Dundee we found the location perfect. We can highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Lester & Diane
