This is a remarkable old home in a charming neighborhood. The mansion is beautiful — we especially liked the breakfast nook, but the exterior shows a little wear and tear. Steve was a great host, who wasn't intrusive but was available to chat about the house and make recommendations for local restaurants when we wanted to talk. He made us a fine breakfast, too.

The night we stayed, we were the only guests so we got Steve's full attention. He is a delightful host, a great cook and an even better spinner of stories. This amazing house from the gilded age has many to tell.

From his greeting at the door when we first arrived, to his careful and gracious attendance to our every need, the owner Steve was the consummate host! Delightful details like hot tea in the afternoon, freshly backed cookies and a scrumptious breakfast served up with endless coffee, fresh orange juice (thanks, Eda!) and fascinating historical details about the mansion and the city made our stay here so very pleasant. Easy walking distance to great shopping and dining, the Mansion proved to be a very special place to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary! Thanks so much, Steve and Eda!

Fascinating old home with individually decorated rooms and baths in a quiet and charming neighborhood setting with many other interesting older homes. Very clean. Our bed was super comfortable! Owner was welcoming, friendly, gracious and helpful. Downtown West Dundee is a short 2 block walk in which there are several very nice restaurants and a lovely walking path by the Fox River. We have stayed at many B&B's and we totally enjoyed our stay at The Mansion from start to finish!

This was our first stay at a Bed & Breakfast, what a wonderful experience. The Mansion set the bar high, beautiful, clean, courteous. We cannot wait to return.
