Sylvia Irish Inn is one of the finest examples of the Queen Anne style of Victorian architecture in our area. Interior original architectural features include inlaid parquet floors, oak gingerbread staircase, decorative moldings and woodwork, stained and beveled glass windows. Each of our three queen second floor rooms has a unique personality and is decorated with a mixture of period and new furniture and fine linens. Our 900 sq. ft. third floor king suite is a favorite with guests who want complete privacy and ultimate comfort and luxury; visiting celebrities and dignitaries love it!. The first floor living room, dining room, and library are comfortably and elegantly appointed with antiques and original artwork. Our gourmet continental breakfast is exceptional, and guests may help themselves at any time to beverages. We are located one block from downtown Urbana restaurants and shopping and just a short walk from the University of Illinois campus.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sylvia's Irish Inn. The room home is a beautiful piece of period architecture with distinctive, personalized decor. The breakfasts were lovely, the company and conversation always interesting and lively, and Sylvia and Ernie were warm, welcoming hosts. Our fellow guests included an operatic tenor soloist in town for a performance, a dancer there to lead workshops at the university, some runners there for the annual marathon and a couple of retired college professors there for the same film festival we'd come for. We've already booked for this year's film festival, and hope to make it an annual event.

We stayed here over the New Years holiday. We were so impressed by the beauty of the house and warmth that Sylvia and Ernie provided. The breakfast was superb! We will certainly return again and again!
