Experience old-world charm and attention to detail, while enjoying the conveniences of a modern hotel. Private verandas, cozy fireplaces, and Jacuzzis are just a few of the delights awaiting visitors to "The Inn at 835". Guests are treated to a one hour wine tasting in the evening as well as a sumptuous gourmet breakfast prepared by our chefs each morning. The inn just recently added a day spa to the third floor of the building. La Vita Grand Day Spa offers an array of facials and massages that add to the comfort of the experience. Built in 1909, this grand structure was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. Recently renovated, the building retains it significant period features and elegant character. Refined Arts and Crafts details highlight the elegant lobby and banquet rooms. Oak and cherry woodwork throughout reflect the craftsmanship of an era gone by. Restored wood floors are accented by lush Robert Morris- inspired rugs. Plump queen size beds in each guest room inspire visitors to linger, while period antiques provide storage and add warmth to the professionally decorated rooms. The Inn At 835 also offers six elegant and versatile meetings rooms, to accommodate groups from 10 to 150. Relax, while we attend to the details of your special event. Your guests will appreciate your good taste and you will enjoy the benefits of our staffs' 40 years of professional experience. The Inn At 835 has been chosen to accommodate reciprocating members of the exclusive Sanganmo Club and featured on Burt Wolf's Travels and Traditions in Springfield.

4.8 out of 5One of our favorite places

My husband and I have been staying at the inn for over 10 years...we are making our way through all of the jacuzzi rooms. We have always found the inn to be a wonderful place to stay from the fireplaces, to the jacuzzi's, to the porches and cookies. We have found that the TV's can be unreliable and it's touch and go if you'll have a working remote control, but if you're not going for that (or if you're prepared) you wouldn't even notice this. It's amazing how much the inn has changed over the years and is continuing to evolve. We hope to continue being able to have our secret get-aways here, and love how every room is different. The bell house suites are two of my favorite, and the Rose suite? Honeymoon worthy. Each room has it's own particular charm.

Very beautiful place located near almost all the attractions of Springfield. The staff were extreamly friendly, couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay and our room was quiet. Loved the wine/cheese set up each night and the good breakfast in the moning. Highly recommend. Rev. ROB, Michigan

My new husband and I stayed here the night after our wedding. The room was beautiful, with a private balcony and whirlpool tub in the room. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and the staff was so friendly. We would definitely go back again for another stay.

Thank you to the Inn at 835 for giving me and my husband a relaxing and romantic retreat. I was completely surprised by my husband planning this getaway for us. The lady at the front desk checking us in was so very helpful with dinner reservations, we eat a great meal at Maldaner. After dinner our room was dressed for romance, our bed was turned down, we had champagne, strawberries and yummy cookies waiting for us. To top it off, a jazz CD was playing in the player. I couldn't wait to get into the Jacuzzi and pop the top on the champagne. Our stay could not be more perfect. Thank you to our new friends at the Inn at 835. We will be back, I hope soon. Can't wait.

March 03, 2009
My husband and I stayed here the day after our wedding as our honeymoon was a couple months away but we still wanted a couple days to ourselves. This was my second stay at a bed & breakfast and while I looked at the website I really wasn't sure what to expect. I am in love with this place. It was amazing. We had the Wisteria room. Everything was spectacularly clean and just beautiful. Everyone we came into contact with was very nice and wanted to make sure everything was just right. There was a wonderful bed, fireplace and a giant jacuzzi that was like a pool. There was also a seperate shower. Nice amenities too. At night there are fresh baked chocolate chip cookies! Who else does that?! I didn't know it but my husband set up the add on of a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and they were nicely laid out when we got back from dinner. There is wine and cheese and crackers set out at 5 o'clock and that was fun and then the coffee and different syrups and cream the next morning was great too! Breakfast was amazing! I really don't understand why I've been staying in these horrible hotels all my life when I could have been staying at places like this for cheaper!! The only complaint I've ever heard is that if you stay on a Sat night the property may be hosting a wedding. I also heard that they are opening up a new parlor for the guests that are not part of said wedding. From what I understand the wedding party can be quite rude to their "uninvited guests" and this way you can avoid that. We were there on a Sunday so we didn't have to deal with it but just a forewarning.

It was a tough decision because the inn looks beautiful and the rooms are to, however the woman at the front desk was icy and very rude. My friend who had made the reservation tried to get the money refunded and could not.

If you wish to feel like Abraham Lincoln must have living in a large home then this place is for you. We stayed in the Rose Room this time and it is very much like staying in one of the White House bedrooms, except the Rose room has a balcony, which we have done a long time ago. The staff are there but you never see them unless you want to have them around. The breakfast is very well done and as we required only cereal and a fruit cup they chef was very eager to fix those for us special. The parking lot is very well lit and the front door to the building requires a key so you do not have to worry about strangers wandering in. Also they have made available a very large parlor that all guests may enjoy up on the third floor. This room is very palatial and very relaxing for tea or just watching tv. The building is very close to the State Capital building which was very convienient for me. If you are going to Springfiled, forget the hotels and stay here. You will not regret it.
