Monika and Jeff are gracious hosts. Our two night stay with a special dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary was a gourmet treat. We highly recommend Chestnut Inn.

This was my second time staying a the inn. This time I came with my adult daughter, and the Green Room was perfect for us. Two bedrooms and a separate sitting/TV room...our own little suite! Dinner was AMAZING, utilizing fresh local ingredients (some from their own garden). The colors on the plate were a feast for the eyes as well as the tastebuds! Monika and Jeff are such accommodating hosts and interesting people. We will return!

My husband and I got married in the back yard of the Chestnut Street Inn, and Monika and Jeff were very accommodating. We reserved the Rosewood suite and were served the best breakfast I have ever had, in our private dining room, at a time of our own choosing--very romantic after our wedding festivities. We will definitely return for another stay and plan to take advantage of the cooking classes offered. Hopefully some of Chef Monika's culinary genius will be absorbed by us!

Stayed with Monika and Jeff and they made us feel so welcome. Got in late and they let us have breakfast late and it was perfect. Room was beautiful and atmosphere was so relaxing. Will definitely go back.

Very stayed with this lovely couple for our anniversary, and would recommend it to all. The evening meal was outstanding, the room was gorgeous, and breakfast was a great start to our day. I would, and will recommend this place to all!

Monika and Jeff are wonderful hosts and have thought of everything you might want or need for your stay. Literally everything! Including but not limited to beautiful accommodations; comfortable rooms each of which include a mini-refrigerator and a TV; and wonderful gourmet breakfasts and dinners (dinners require advance reservations). We made reservations for dinner for our first night and enjoyed relaxing over a wonderful meal (prepared by Monika who is an incredible chef!) and a bottle of wine that we selected from their wine list. We enjoyed reading in the parlor/living room and shopping and exploring the area during our two-night stay. We plan to bring our bikes on a return visit to this wonderful B&B as there are bike trails and parks to explore. And, we might even check out the local public golf course. There are many things to do in the area or you can just enjoy relaxing at the Chestnut Street Inn.

We had a memorable stay at the Chestnut Street Inn last week. We stayed for one night in the Rosewood Suite after antique shopping in Princeton, and before we headed to Goods Furniture in Kewanee. The accommodations were comfy, the meals were fantastic, and the B and B was positively a wonderful stay! The Rosewood Suite had a lovely four poster bed, fireplace with two chairs and an ottoman. The lights beside the chairs were excellent for reading! There was a secretary hutch for journaling or writing a note. There was also a television, with a huge list of available DVDs and videos. The bathroom was equipped with both a bath and a shower. Even the little touches of Doves chocolate and Stash Tea were appreciated. We also enjoyed a spectacular dinner in the Rosewood Suite. Monika made a lovely meal with a shrimp appetizer with mole sauce, homemade rolls with mango, Scallops with chutney, sweet potatoes that were out of this world good!, and asparagus. For dessert, we had crème brulee, with coffee. Monika also had us covered for a before dinner snack! There was homemade coconut macaroons on the buffet, and complementary tea, soda, and water in the pantry. In the morning, breakfast was available in our room, or downstairs in the sun room, which included a lovely scone, frittata, juice and coffee. Many, many thanks to Jeff and Monika for seeing to it that we had such a great time at the Chestnut Street Inn. We deeply appreciate your efforts, and feel blessed to have met you.

The rooms are clean and nicely equipped. The breakfast and supper are absolutely fantastic---truly gourmet from local organic farms. Don't even think of staying here unless you also stay for supper!! Many local attractions and a slower pace make this a "must-stay" option for B&Bs in Illinois!

A stay at the Chestnut Street Inn is like visiting a favorite friend's home. You always receive a warm welcome and are assured of a pleasant experience. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. The living room/library is perfect for relaxing and browsing through Jeff and Monika's many books on travel, the arts and other interesting topics.(I like Monika's ballet books.) The rooms are beautifully furnished with every expected amenity. We always book the Green Room, with its separate sleeping areas and small lounge with a TV and comfy chairs. The grounds are lovely with pretty flowers as well as Monika's own herb garden. It's always interesting to us to see what new improvements and projects Jeff and Monika are working on to enhance the guest experience.(We plan to return in the fall when Jeff has finished the fire pit. S'mores, perhaps?!) The food, of course, is the real star of the show here. Monika's use of locally sourced products ensures freshness and high quality. Her use of spices, both subtle and bold, keeps her dishes not only delicious but also interesting. We look forward to every dinner and breakfast when we stay at this B&B. On top of the great hospitality, comfortable surroundings and wonderful food, there is the added bonus that the innkeepers offer amazing value for the money. The Chestnut Street Inn is truly a unique B&B.
