The proprietors were wonderful people. The inn was lovely. We had a great time.

My husband and I stayed at The Irish Inn for two nights during our honeymoon. The inn was beautiful and clean, and the location was just what we were looking for. The highlight of our stay was getting up one morning to watch the sunrise on the deck outside of our bedroom and listening to the birds in the forest wake up and start singing...priceless! Brian was interesting and entertaining, and we enjoyed talking with him during breakfast. We will be back to The Irish Inn. Robin & Bob Risky

Beautiful house, in a beautiful location! The food was outstanding and Brian was very entertaining and really made us feel at home and this while his wife was in the hopspital!

We have stayed at the Irish Inn three times now. Lynn and Brian have always been very welcoming and hospitable to us. We encouarge you to stay here and see for yourself how nice, serene, and relaxing it is for couples and families!

Brian was full of great tales and a wonderful cook of the full Irish Breakfast. Never dreamed I'd like blood sausage, but I did. Lynn helped throughout the registration process with finding someone to do hair and makeup and recommending a florist too. Very pleased with both, by the way. Brian did a great job on the photos. I only wish we had more time to stay and explore the area some more.

This was the perfect compliment of relaxation and seclusion. We really enjoyed our time and the Irish Breakfast was awesome!

Everything was as expected from website and the innkeepers and inn are great for pets.

My wife and I spent a weekend evening with Brian and Lynn. We loved the quiet rural setting and the very well-maintained and up-to-date accommodations at the Irish Inn! To say that the B&B is off the beaten path is an understatement, but that's what makes it so attractive. Only minutes from Interstate 24 (that links Nashville with Southern Illinois), it provides scenic splendor. Brian and Lynn could not be more hospitable, and with only three rooms, you are sure to spend some time by the fireplace chatting with them. Brian is from Northern Ireland and Lynn seems to have been in most countries on the face of the earth! They are wonderful conversationalists. The Great Room by the fireplace was warm and welcoming, and the prelude to the room where we spent the night. The bed was just what my wife and I love--soft and cozy. My wife is a fanatic about hotel beds, disliking them far more often than liking, and she pronounced our bed "perfect." The bathroom was spotless, and we were pleased to see the availability of a bidet. My wife is from Scotland and had not seen any such continental fixtures in an American hotel or B&B. Brian's Irish breakfast topped off our morning. He told us that to get traditional meats, they buy from a supplier in Chicago. The sausages and ham tasted like we are used to traveling in the UK and Ireland. Our stay at the Irish Inn was such a great break from our routine, and so much more pleasant than hotels or even other B&Bs where we have stayed. Thanks Lynn and Brian!

I had a wonderful time at the Irish Inn! I stayed in the Castle Dublin suite and simply loved the accommodations. I think it might be time to replace the mattress as it seemed to me to sag on both sides (like people indentations). I also would recommend a 2-person jaccuzi tub vs. the single one in there now. Maybe they could remodel the bathroom ... I suggest removing the urinal, scooting the toilet over, and using the whole corner to accommodate a larger tub! The innkeepers were absolutely as nice as they could be and the breakfast was undeniably fabulous! The wine and chocolates in the room upon arrival were a "sweet" added bonus. Both Brian and Lynn were very knowledgeable about the area and anything you might want to do there. Very quiet and peaceful setting that is sure to relax even the most stressed out traveler! We were happy to see that these guests had a good time at The Irish Inn, but just had to reply on a couple of points. We have a bed system in this room from Private Quarters, which is like the most wonderful feather bed. Apologies if this bed system felt too soft, but most guests love it. There is no urinal in the Dublin Castle Suite's bathroom! That is a European fixture called a bidet, and most guests find it a wonderful feature! Will take your idea about the two-person whirlpool under advisement. Glad you had a lovely time!

My wife and I were looking for a quiet, country place to spend a few vacation days. The Irish Inn had been recomended to us by another B & B proprietor. We couldn't have been more pleased. The place was wonderful, but the hospitality was even better. Brian and Lynn were pleasnt and cheerful hosts and were very helpful in directing us to places to visit. Brian also makes excellent Irish breakfasts!! We will return again.

The Irish Inn is FANTASTIC! Lynn & Brian are the perfect hosts and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. The Irish breakfast is not to be missed! Lynn gave us a couple of different "local tour sheets" when we arrived that basically made our days full of interesting and entertaining adventures. They were easy to follow and LOTS of fun. When we returned in the late afternoons there was always hot tea, good conversation and suggestions for local places to have our dinner. The most impressive thing about the Irish Inn was the attention to small details. In conversations during our arrival, Lynn was able to determine what our likes, dislikes and interests might be and taylored our stay to fit us PERFECTLY. The McCreery's are wonderful! They made us feel so welcome. The Irish breakfast really is amazing, and since our stay, my husband and I have even gone in search of some of the foods Brian cooked up for us. I grabbed a bunch of pamphlets for the Irish Inn before we left to hand out to friends and family. If that's not a good indication of how great our stay was, I don't know what is.

From the moment of our arrival, we knew we were in for a treat! Handmade chocolates and a bottle of wine awaited us, while Brian was ready to share stories of the local area as well as Ireland. Lynn had prepared day trip information in advance, which took us to local wineries (FREE tastings - not like the West Coast!) and the most beautiful areas of the Shawnee National Forest. We also made a side trip across the Ohio River into Amish Country in Kentucky and came home with beautiful hand made soaps, jams, etc., to complement our wine choices. The breakfast each morning was Phenomenal - everything you have seen written on the site and more - plus, the entertaining Brian regaled us with stories of his Irish history. The room was delightful, with all the special touches to make you feel truly indulged. We will definitely go back to the Irish Inn!

Our stay was wonderful. Lynn and Brian are fantastic hosts! Brian made a fire for us in the traditional Native American way both nights of our stay. My husband is a big eater, but the full Irish Breakfast fills him up everytime. We can't wait to come again next year!

We spent one night at the Irish Inn while on a biking vacation. I was very pleased and will stay again. There are personal touches all about, very friendly inn owners, clean, great food, all the details that we expected were met!!

Nestled in a hollow in a southern Illinois meadow, the romantic Irish Inn is one of our favorite places to visit. It's cozy, beautiful, and comfortable, and surrounded by nature. What a pleasure it is to get into bed and hear no noise from outside and to wake up to the singing of a lone whippoorwill. The full Irish breakfast is delicious and filling, and the innkeepers are friendly, intelligent, and interesting conversationalists. The inn is a great base for exploring the surrounding Shawnee National Forest and the great Ohio and Mississippi Rivers. We especially enjoy the hiking, birding, antiquing, and historical sites in the area, and we highly recommend the Irish Inn.

We got married at the Irish Inn and it was a truly wonderful experience! The Innkeepers, Brian and Lynn spoiled us totally and made it a day to remember. The Irish breakfast was superbly made with a perfect presentation, and the room was delightful, with a romantic appearance and comfortable too. What more could you wish for?

Our journey to retirement in the area started at the Irish Inn!!! What great people!! Our stays were always enjoyable, Lynn a perfect hostess , armed with information and kindness !! Brian is a super cook, great Irish story teller and a mountain of wordly information!!! Now that we live in the area, we spend time at the Irish Inn for get togethers, parties or just stopping by to visit. The Best Pet Friendly place on earth !!! We take our pooches over now to swim in Brians pond and they love it !! Its sooo inviting. We love talking to the guest that always seem to hang around the fireplace and talk of their wonderful experiences. We love the place and the people so much we even had our 20 year wedding anniversary party there -- with a native American theme!!! My family stayed there and of course did not want to leave !! Exspected an escape from the big city bussel; and we got it . But an unexspected delight was Lynn and Brian's collection from their world travels. If time presents itself we will be returning. We felt so very "at home"; they are GREAT Hosts!

My daughter decided to get married quickly and I wanted something nice for her. I called Lynn and in 48 hours we planned a beautiful ceremony and small reception. My daughter was married 6 weeks later. The Inn is beautiful, the food is out of this world! The service is second to none. We were treated like family and everything was perfect.

The Irish Inn was very comfortable, warm and friendly. The food was extraordinary and the scenery was beautiful. We had a wonderful time there.

A beautiful log home in the midst of a huge forest and wonderful hosts and delicious meals...what more could we ask for!! Lynn and Brian welcomed us into their BnB upon our arrival and made us feel 'at home' immediately. Our room, bed and bathroom was all spacious and luxurious. And getting to sit out on the deck overlooking the pond and forest for our morning coffee was worth getting up early for! My husband is the early riser...I'm not. lol And the made suggestions of siteseeing for the area. Our little weekday getaway was very refreshing and renewing for us and we highly recommend THE IRISH INN!

What a sight when we drove up to your beautiful inn. We immediately relaxed on the sprawling porch sipping some locally-produced wine. Going in and out of the door smelling the wonderful aromas of coq au vin was very comforting and appealing. What a feast and a great time to get to know one another. The beautiful room we had with the layers of bliss made us sleep like babies. I loved the Bee Kind lotion from Gilchrist & Soames of London. It smelled and felt great. But oh! What fantastic breakfasts you prepared for us, Brian -- all the delicious little things made us really feel at home. We loved the many stories, and will definitely be back. Thanks for your hospitality!

Very nice house and beautiful scenery! We stayed in the Master suite, Dublin Castle, the bathroom was a bit disappointing. It was a bit dirty(not overly), but felt a little unsanitary- found hairs and whirlpool tub not clean as should be. Also, for a b&b that offers elopement/wedding packages it would have been nice for whirlpool tub to accomodate two- just made for a sigle person. The Innkeepers, Brian & Lynn were very friendly, although only saw Lynn just 1 or 2 times. Brian was very visable, helpful and lovely to be around- he shared many stories of his background and travels. Also, Brian was an amazing cook, his breakfast both mornings was outstanding! Overall, very nice place, but could make some improvements!

My husband and I just celebrated our 15th at The Irish Inn. WONDERFUL!!!! The Inn is so beautiful and right in the middle of the Shawnee Forest near so many attractions. The room was perfect for our anniversary. The food was just great and so tasty and, of course, the innkeepers (Brian and Lynn) are so good in providing everything you need for an awesome getaway. Can't recommend it enough.

No restaurants or dining facilities wee available within 15 miles. It is somewhat isolated from any local attractions. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay.

This is our second stay with Lynn and Bryan at the Irish Inn. First of all, if I don't say so myself, this amazing log home has probably the most spectacular curb appeal of almost any bnb out there. It is situated in the quiet and peace of the Shawnee National Forest and it is just beautiful with its reflection glistening in the lake. The rooms are delightful and the property is filled with eye candy for history and travel buffs alike. Aside from the gracious hospitality of the innkeepers, the traditional Irish Breakfast is truly a highlight. Half a dozen or more imported Irish sausages and other meats, perfectly cooked eggs, sauteed mushrooms, tomatoes, potato bread and nice strong coffee hits the spot each morning and will get you set for the whole day no matter what you have in store. If you need a nice getaway where you can feel like you have gotten away from the world, look no further.

The Irish Inn is a wonderful get-away Inn. If you like the quietness of a country inn but being close to recreational and city life this would be a wonderful retreat for you. Your host and hostess Brian & Lynn are wonderful Inn Keepers who will to go the extra mile for their guests. My husband is an avid cyclist and our visit was during the Tour de France. Brian hooked up an extra cable line to please my husband! That's service! The rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are very comfortable. Nice to have a pot of coffee on for the early risers! The tree frogs lured us to sleep every night and the log cabin was so cozy. Brian made delicious Irish breakfasts, but would have liked a few more choices for the lighter eater. This is a beautiful relaxing place! The people were so welcoming and helpful! Very enjoyable!

The rooms were exceptional. The Irish breakfast in the mornings keeps you full until evening time. We had a really good time. Lots of scenery!

My husband and I found The Irish Inn when looking online for a bed and breakfast to get married at. Brian and Lynn (the innkeepers) are two of the most wonderful, kind, and personable people we have met. They made our wedding day absolutley perfect! We did not have to worry about a thing. The Stories at the breakfast table was well worth going back again just to hear more about the Irish history. Our wedding was exactly what we wanted. The innkeepers here are truly excellent hosts. They are mindful to details of each persons liking and work hard to ensure that while you have plenty of privacy, you also have a warm atmosphere in which to stay. The dining experience is nothing short of gourmet and internationally flavored! :) The beautiful setting near the Shawnee National Forest, coupled with the hospitality of traditional Irish homes, makes this B&B my #1 choice in all categories!

We were on the large suite on the first floor. A bit dark in there, but nicely appointed. Bathroom was less than what we expected: small shower that didn't work real well; medicine cabinet protruded out over the sink so it was difficult to wash your face. Excellent towels and facecloths. Host and Hostess were exceptional.

Lynn and Brian's hospitality are unmatched! A few friends and I had just a getaway. We greatly enjoyed ourselves and will be returning for a longer stay. The Irish Inn is serene and beautiful, the perfect place for any occasion.

We went to The Irish Inn to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary and it was the perfect romantic getaway for us and our two Boston Terriers. Irish charm, a welcoming chalet, great food, natures wonders and beautiful art/antiques made The Irish Inn the best getaway for our little family.

This was our second stay at the Irish Inn. First time was great - so was the second. The hosts are wonderful people, very attentive, great conversations and a stick with you Irish breakfast. Our dog was welcomed and treated like a member of the family. We will definetly be returning.

We were just so thrilled to find this spacious, clean, homey B&B within a two state drive. Labeled the top pet-friendly place in the Midwest from FIDO magazine, Daisy, my greyhound, and I were eager to check it out. From the first welcome, we felt 'at home'. Brian's "luverly" breakfasts, replete with stimulating opinions about the world (what upstanding Irishman wouldn't have opinions to share?!) and Lynn's "lookafter 'ye" style were a contrast in hotel stays. We were fortunate to win a weekend getaway last year at the Carbondale Celtic Festiva where the McCreery's donated two deluxe two night packages. Lynn was so accomodating when we were trying to decide what two nights we wanted. She even offered to split it up into two different one night stays. The Inn was beautiful and what we have come to expect with log homes. We hope to someday be fortunate to have a home as warm and comfortable as the Irish Inn. The Irish breakfast is something that I think everyone should experience, tasting Bangers and black and white pudding was eventful as was the company. The dinner that night was wonderful and we had the chance to experience a little french cuisine`.

We escaped from the northern Chicago suburbs to the Irish Inn to celebrate our anniversary and find some spring. Brian & Lynn's hospitality made the weekend a wonderful getaway. The inn is beautiful and lovingly maintained, and situated close to waterfalls, natural bridges and other awesome natural sites, to which Brian and Lynn are glad to direct visitors. Also nearby are many delightful wineries, at which you can sample a wide variety of fruit and grape wines. And before you start venturing out for the day, Brian will serve you an outstanding Irish breakfast. Highly recommended.

My friend Sophie and my dad went on a trip to Southern Illinois for spring break last week. It was really a great vacation. Our first stop with the Irish Inn, I loved Brian’s accent, he reminded me of the Beatles. The people that ran the Inn were really awesome and had some great breakfast. They even took us on a ghost hunting trip at night. I must say I was pretty scared It was great for me and my friend, who are 15 year old girls and who don’t usually think that adult stuff is too much fun, but the Irish Inn sure was. :D

Hi Jim Zimmerman here and happy to report on such a beautiful Inn located in the natural beauty of the Shawnee National Forest. The Inn Keepers took great care of us. We felt like we could have just moved in. They even took on a ghost hunting trip (I had my 15 year old daughter and her best friend with me). Of course they loved this side adventure. If you want first class county charm with a flavorful twist of Ireland this is a must do B&B.

My hubby and I just returned from our second stay at The Irish Inn, and we are soooo ready to go back! I already miss the seven layers of bliss on the king-size bed, the good food and company! We had such a good time with our friends, who had also spent their Honeymoon there years ago, and visited some wilderness sites. I am a nurse, and we nurses are famous for taking care of everybody but ourselves! I really came to that conclusion when I stayed at The Irish Inn the first time that my husband surprised me with an Anniversary visit. I have decided no more of that, so every chance I get to get away, I will be at your door! I advise other nurses to rest and get renewed at The Irish Inn, too – we need and deserve it!

Walking into The Irish Inn was like coming to visit old friends. Your charm and personalities are so welcoming, and made us feel instantly at home. We had no idea what a find your Elopement Package was, but please know that everything was just perfect for us, down to all the little details! Life decided to surprise us with each other….as well as The Irish Inn, a snow storm, and an entire county of beautiful people. We feel that we had one of the most beautiful and unique wedding weekends, and we thank you so much for your contribution to our wonderful memories!

My wife and I got back home last night from having the most wonderful two day romantic escape at The Irish Inn. There was only one bad part of the entire time...coming home. Thank you so much for lettting us forget about the busy and hectic everyday life and help us find the love and peaceful part of life and each other! They are also the most pet friendly B&B I know of.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Irish Inn over Thanksgiving! Arriving in a cold deluge of rain, Lynn warmly greeted us and offered a lovely tea time to warm up. Lynn and Brian graciously included us in their dinner plans, which we so appreciated after a very long travel day. What a delightful location, with gracious hosts who are knowledgeable about the area. And, the pet-friendliness was superb for our family's dog, who loved romping on the property. Nice place!

We eloped to the Irish Inn and it was fantastic. My husband is of Irish/Scottish decent and we thought it would be a perfect place to begin our lives together. The room was wonderful, the "7 layers of bliss" was exceptional, the Irish breakfast was delicious and the company was delightful! Just so happens that through some research, Brian & my husband are distantly related! How cool is that! We had a wonderful time and our fall wedding in the grove was absolutely beautiful. We had a wonderful stay and will be coming back every year for our anniversary. I highly recommend staying at the Irish Inn.

I stayed at the Irish Inn as a girl friends getaway and we enjoyed the most amazing breakfast that Brian made for us and Lynn and him were so much fun to talk to. They pointed us in the direction of the Garden of the Gods and we climbed all over before heading to some of the local wineries that they suggested we visit. Their bed and breakfast had some of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, I could have stayed in bed all day. I've already scheduled another trip there and I can't wait to go back.

This was our first B&B experience in the United States. What a fantastic experience! It not only excelled in the "creature comfort" category but much more importantly, we came away with a panoramic historical and political view of the world, thanks to the innkeepers' (Lynn and Brian) vast experience with cultures in various other countries. If you want environmental beauty, the Shawnee area of southern Illinois will surely satisfy that need, but conversations with Lynn, Brian, and guests from other parts of our own great country will expand your horizons far beyond expections. I felt like I had been transported to the British Isles! What a treasure in the Shawnee National Forest! The very spacious room (Dublin Castle Suite), the bed (luxury seven layers of bliss system),the amenities (Gilchrist & Soames of London), the bath (shower, whirlpool tub, and bidet----how European!), the DVD collection (rivals Blockbuster) the breakfast (full Irish), pet friendly (my bulldog was loved and adored), the collections (mementos from six continents!), and best of all----the gracious innkeepers (Brian & Lynn). You must put a stay at the Irish Inn on your "to do list"!!!

On my search for girlfriend get-a-ways I found a review on the Irish Inn located in Southern IL which was only about 2 1/2hr from home. Being Irish this was right up my alley. Well if folks in Ireland are half as nice, entertaining, and make breakfast like Brian; I may have to relocate. This lovely log cabin (another favorite of mine) is nested in the corner of the Shawnee National Forest. The Winery are plentiful and the owners are so nice, honestly everyone I meet on this trip was so nice. I can't wait to get back to the Irish Inn it was the closest to being home in the country without having to be with relatives.

We met up with our friends from Nashville at the Irish Inn. We are innkeepers oursevles, so we appreciate all the work Lynn an Brian did to to make our stay special. They are special people willing to share their time with their guests.

Spent 2 nights. Perfect getaway for my wife and me. Up late watching movies in the room. Up late for a HUGE breakfast! Bryan (host) was attentive to our comings and goings during the day, without being obtrusive. More evening hospitality from the hosts than I have experienced before, but then again, there is nothing but a big forest all around us. Not much entertainment at night. It was useful to hear other guests' experiences in their site seeing. Glad to have vacationed in southern Illinois. There is a lot to see, a lot to do. Probably could spend a good week or two, as it turns out (wineries, hiking, water activities, college town, shopping, interesting small towns and histories).

Innkeepers were great, very friendly, full of great conversation and hospitality. The Irish breakfast was not only authentic but a huge amount of food, we only had to eat one meal a day after breakfast. They are pet friendly which adds a little bit of home to your stay. We never felt awkward or uncomfortable, a great place to stay.

My husband I wanted to explore the Southern Illinois area and looked for a B&B near or in the Shawnee National Forest. We were very happy to find an availability at The Irish Inn. When we arrived, we were greeted by Brian (from Ireland with a charming Irish brogue). He prepared scrumptious Irish breakfasts for us every morning. He and his wife, Lynn, made us feel right at home immediately. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable king size bed and large bathroom with a shower and whirlpool bath. They have the largest selection of DVD's we've ever seen at a B&B. Lynn printed personalized day trips for us , gave us good suggestions for dinner each evening, and had a list of the wineries we could visit as we traveled around the area. We had a really enjoyable stay here and highly recommend this B&B.

I could not have felt more at home. Time stood still and I had not a care in the world. It never seemed as though Lynn and Brian were working yet the inn and rooms were beautiful, the pond and surroundings were lovely, the meals delicious, and the conversation was just what I needed. It all seemed so effortless and my entire experience was serene.

This was the best B&B experience my wife and I have ever had. Great time, good to have the Irish breakfast and all the stories which fed us as well.

We have always enjoyed staying at B&B's and the Irish Inn reinforced all the reasons we love them! We were greeted with a fresh cup of Irish Tea when we arrived & had a wonderful time getting to visit with our Innkeepers before retiring. The room was lovely & comfortable...the breakfast magnificent (we loved the new taste experiences of the Irish breakfast...thank you Brian!!) The grounds are lovely as well & made me wish we could stay longer. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. Brian & Lynn spoiled us with their hospitality, cooking and friendship. Go spend a night (or two!) at the Irish Inn, you'll be glad you did!

My husband and I were recently married at the Irish Inn BnB. Lynn went above and beyond with helping find a minister, and other details. What a beautiful country setting, with plenty of places to explore nearby! Lynn and Brian are warm, inviting Inn keepers, I absolutely adore her! The breakfast is amazing! My wife and I got married at the Irish Inn in Feb of 2008. I have to say that this place is not only beautiful and serene.. there is just a sense of good energy and contentment. The food is amazing and home cooked and Lynn Is the most amazing hostess EVER!! I could not of asked for a better stay anywhere.. I have already made it clear to my wife if we decide to go to another bed and breakfast (and it's so much more than that) it will be at The Irish Inn. We eloped at the Irish Inn. It was an amazing weekend!!! Lynn and Brian made it a very special weekend for us. The inn is beautiful and very cozy. My fiance and I came to The Irish Inn to relax and enjoy a wonderful nights stay. It was one of the most relaxing nights either of us has had in quite some time. We stayed at the Inn just before christmas and even though we asked if they were available on such a short notice they were very happy to have us and made us feel right at home. The conversations were great and the breakfast was phenonmenal. I was completely amazed at the hospitality of the owners and the overall comfort of the rooms. I have been recommending The Irish Inn to all of my friends and family and will continue to do so. If you are looking for a great and relaxing stay, you need not look any further.

Wow!! What a beautiful setting and an incredible place. Rooms are comfy and cozy. The highlights of this bed and breakfast are the innkeepers and the food. Lynn and Brian are amazing people who will keep you laughing and make you feel like your right at home. The traditional Irish breakfast complete with every kind of meat you can think of was astounding. We ate way more than we should have and enjoyed every bite. It's location in the Shaunee National Forest is idyllic. Lots to see and do. We'll be back.

This is a beautiful and spacey house in beautiful and calm surroundings. The hostess will serve excellent food, and along with her husband share tales of their travels around the world, in the best Irish tradition. I like water, so I was especially fond of the pond.

My sorority had our Christmas party at the Irish Inn. We had a delicious dinner prepared by our hostess. The tables were beautifully set. The atmosphere was perfect for our Christmas get together with a fire in the fireplace- the home was decorated for Christmas. I am anxious to go back to the Irish Inn in the summer with my group.

I ventured to the heart of the National Forest late in the autumn, not typically the best time to visit a B&B. The drive from the interstate was gorgeous and set the right tone for getting away. While the stay was relaxing and tremendously engaging I was overwhelmed by the exploration of Central Illinois. Brian and Lynn provided a list of places to visit and was truly amazed by what Southern Illinois has to offer. Visit and explore!

The most friendly place to stay, that included pet friendly!!! Great Irish Style breakfast, The owners were world traveler in the past, they shared so many stories, experiences and both of them are such opened mind, fun, loving couple. If you are searching for a real natural and peaceful place to go, this is it!

The inn has a great atmosphere, comfortable rooms well decorated, a marvelous country setting in the heart of the Illinois Ozarks, and fantastic Innkeepers! The big danger is that you will be so charmed by the hosts that you won't realize you are eating an authentic Irish breakfast five times your stomach's capacity. You may explode, but what a great way to go!!!!

Cozy, out-of-the-way, in the beautiful woods. Proprietors go out of their way to make sure you're satisfied. Fun to get married there, fun just to stay there!

Brian and Lynn were outstanding hosts. We are African- American, and they made us feel very much at home, not because they had to, but because they enjoyed having us at their inn. We enjoyed being there! The food was excellent. The inn was clean and quiet. They catered to our every desire. We had fun learning about Irish history. Lynn and Brian makes the best irish breakfast. We highly recommend the Irish Inn to African -American B&B travelers.

We stayed at the Irish Inn several times during our trips to Southern Illinois. Lynn and Brian are great innkeepers and have become great friends. We loved it here so much, we moved here, only a few miles away from the Irish Inn. My family has stayed twice at the Irish Inn, and enjoyed ourselves tremendously both times. Lynn and Brian are terrific hosts--we travel quite a bit, and we rarely find such interesting and warm people. They feel like family! The house and grounds are beautiful, and all the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. The breakfasts are incredible and the best we've had outside of Ireland.

My husband and I have had the privilege of staying at the Irish Inn on two seperate occassions and plan to return. This is a truly magical place set in an area of stunning natural beauty. We spent some time in quiet contemplation and Lynn and Brian where very knowledgable about what to see and do in the vacinity when we were ready for more strenuous activities. The rooms are furnished to a high standard and the home cooking a delight. The owners are lovely people who are prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that their guests get the holiday they want. As for romance? In such a special place anything can happen!

The Irish Inn hosted our rehersal dinner and wedding. They listened to everything that we requested and went well above and beyond our expectations. They not only built onto their lovely property to accommodate my handicapped mother but they allowed us to have a large number of people out for the wedding. So not only was everything beautiful but all the wedding guests were impressed and comfortable. Now on to the real beauty of the Irish Inn...the Irish breakfasts! We went to Ireland for the honeymoon and the Irish Inn breakfast beat out any of the breakfasts we had in Ireland. Not to mention the company and stories of the owners Lynn and Brian. If you are looking for a memorable stay in a beautiful bed and breakfast the Irish Inn is the place to be!

We've never met innkeepers kinder or more fun than Lynn and Brian McCreery. We've never been served such a hearty, delightful Irish breakfast. And we've never been someplace so clean, cozy, and scenic, and actually been able to bring our dog and not feel pangs of guilt at leaving him behind! Awesome. We've recommended them several times and gone back several times, and it's consistently excellent--they're also fascinating conversationalists who've had experiences all over the world, yet they'll respect your peace and quiet and space, when you desire it--they're easygoing, intelligent, fun, attentive, and wonderfully thoughtful.

I am a repeat guest to The Irish Inn, which is located in the Shawnee National Forest. I have also held parties there, and I have always been happy with the results. It is a place where people want to return time and again. The Irish hospitality is wonderful, and the location in the waterfall and wilderness areas of Southern Illinois spectacular. I love the Irish Innkeeper's accent, too!
