Had a great stay at Mission Oak! The online reservation process could not be any easier, and once you book online Jan will call you to get final details. If you go, you MUST eat dinner with the Reeds. The price of dinner is well worth it, and you cannot go wrong with any of the choices I would assume (based on our meal). Denny and Jan will sit down and eat dinner with you, along with the other couple if they choose the dinner option. Tea, coffee, or soda are available to drink, and fresh homemade bread is also served. Come down to dinner hungry, because they will offer you seconds and thirds for dinner! The dessert is incredible, and the presentation is outstanding. Denny is the chef, and everything is 5-star. I believe he has even won some cooking contests. The room is a real delight. We had the Lodge suite, which is upstairs over their garage. It had a private stairway entrance, and was the size of a studio apartment. Fresh homemade cookies were waiting for us when we arrived, and the small refrigerator had soda and water that was free. Coffee and tea was also in the room. The jacuzzi was excellent, the bed was soft, a reclining couch was in the room, and there is a two sided gas fireplace. There is a TV with DVD and satellite/dish channels, and there are DVD's to borrow for free downstairs. The room was immaculately clean, and there was a beautiful view out both of the large windows. A huge tip of the cap to Denny and Jan for designing a bed and breakfast that truly allows its guests to relax and get away. We cannot wait to go back when it is a bit warmer and dry so we can experience the trail and the small lake on the property. Also, Denny and Jan will let you know about things going on in the area, historical sites, state parks, etc. There is quite a bit to see and experience within about 30-40 miles of the inn. I highly recommend everyone experience the Mission Oak Inn!

Someone had recommended we stay here and they were 100% right. Best bed and breakfast we have stayed at. Jan and Denny were polite and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and we regret going to a restaurant for dinner, we will definitely pay to have him cook us dinner next time - delicious!

Delightful conversation, best B&B meals we have ever had. Quiet, relaxing get away. The B&B owners have obviously done a lot of work on the art of hospitality - wonderfully welcome.

We stayed here for our tenth anniversary a few weeks ago and it was absolutely worth it. The food was FANTASTIC, the conversation with Denny and Jan was great, and the relaxing nature (including an in-room massage for my wife) was perfect. They really go above and beyond.

This was my first time at a B&B, as well as my boyfriend. We had an amazing time and were treated very well. Denny and Jan were very welcoming and the room was beyond what we were thinking. It was so clean and I was very happy we chose Mission Oak! We will definitely be going back in the summer to enjoy the lake and also the food, which was outstanding!
5 on January 02, 2014
We were referred to the Mission Oak Inn by another B&B as a place to get away and relax. We were also suggested to enjoy the dinners that Denny prepares. We were not disappointed. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Enjoyed the whirlpool bath with the gel in the afternoon to get warmed up with the chilly weather outside. The fireplace really added to the relaxation of the setting in the room. The format and set up of the room encouraged us to feel comfortable. Our breakfast was delicious and the dinners were of restaurant quality. Jan and Denny were wonderful hosts and we found their company very enjoyable. My husband and I look forward to returning when the weather is better so my husband can fish and I can spend some time outside either hiking or just relaxing with a book.

My husband and I stayed here for his 71st birthday this past August, and I cannot say enough how marvelous the experience was. From the warm welcome from Denny and Jan Reed, the outstanding rooms, and the marvelous food, it all exceeded our expectations. Because my husband likes to fish, we rented one of their pontoon boats, and Dave caught a 19" bass on his first cast. If you want a quiet, intimate getaway, you cannot do better.
5 on December 14, 2013
I had heard this was a great bed and breakfast but never imagined how wonderful till we experienced it ourselves. Rooms were great with the hot tub, fireplace, snacks and beverages in fridge. Food was unbelievable! The owners were so friendly. What a great place to go no matter the season.

Wow! My title says it all. Denny and Jan have perfected the ultimate B&B experience! We were genuinely sad to leave. What a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. I only have one thing I'd change... Make eating all meals there mandatory! Denny is an excellent chef!! Honestly, I originally thought the meals to be a bit pricey. But, after tasting the food and experiencing the atmosphere and hospitality, I was proven way wrong! When we return(not if) we will definitely have all our meals there! The setting and scenery are absolutely perfect! Whether taking a walk or fishing or just sitting watching nature happen, you will find yourself becoming more relaxed with each passing moment. Thank you, Denny and Jan, for a sincerely amazing weekend to celebrate our 20th!!

My husband and I just returned from a weekend at Mission Oak Inn, our 25th wedding anniversary getaway. We have stayed at a number of different B&B's over the years, but Mission Oak tops them all. The property and the rooms are immaculate, and Denny and Jan are gracious, wonderful hosts. Their house is beautiful, with custom woodworking throughout by Denny. The meals are outstanding. It's the first time I've ever had an appetizer with breakfast! I don't think we will need to eat again for a week - the quality and quantity of food was amazing. We loved that their home site is secluded, but very easy to find and just 3 miles off of a main state highway. We left after the weekend feeling relaxed, refreshed, and renewed. You will not find a better B&B. Make sure to have an evening dinner while you are there. And, make sure to take advantage of the marked trail through the woods behind their lake (so you might want to bring hiking boots or shoes). It's just hard to find words to describe the experience - you just need to go and see for yourself. You WILL NOT be disappointed!!

We visited Mission Oak Inn in the fall. The accommodations were spotless. The room was extremely comfortable and all necessary amenities were provided. The owners were friendly and welcoming and made our stay a very happy memory. The food is FANTASTIC!! We can say that the food is some of the best we have ever had at any b and b. We enjoyed hiking and bird watching. We didn't get to try fishing this time, but we will definitely come back. Highly recommend eating dinner at the inn. The food is better than anything a restaurant can provide.

This was our 3rd stay...an annual tradition. As always, premises was immaculate, beautiful, serene. There are always improvement underway. We've always eaten dinner here too. Very high quality meals prepare by Denny, a genuine gourmet chef. Serving sizes are very generous. Recommend choosing to eat dinner there - you will not be disappointed. Hosts Denny & Jan are gracious and friendly, adding to the enjoyment of the stay. Very quiet and private. Rooms are widely separated - you won't hear any other sounds. Nice hiking trails, beautiful lake with lots of fish!
5 on September 20, 2013
We had never been to a bed and breakfast so were unsure we would like one, with eating with other people. But it was far better than we ever imagined. We enjoyed every part of it! The room was clean and luxurious, the other guests were so enjoyable and the hosts were outstanding! Can't imagine there could be any better b&b.
5 on September 08, 2013
My wife and I spent our 16th anniversary here last weekend, and I must say that we missed this place soon after we left. The home overall is very clean, and our specific room was comfortable with a private entrance and nice amenities (hot tub, fireplace, reclining couch, microwave, mini fridge, and satellite TV with DVD player). Both my wife and I were able to enjoy the grounds by hiking around the private lake, watching the fish and birds (including many hummingbirds) and for me fishing. We didn't take advantage of the free canoe use or optional boat rental, so perhaps next time. We also enjoyed the delicious meals (once by the lake) and good conversations with the innkeepers, Denny & Jan. During our full day there, my wife and I were content to stay on the property. There some attractions within 30-45 minutes away, for those interested - such as a State Park; the Illinois River; an Apple Orchard; downtown Henry, and Peoria, a larger city. We can't wait to stay there again. - Joe & Myra Reyes

We had an enjoyable stay at Mission Oak Inn. The highlights were the outstanding dinner and breakfast and relaxing at the lake front. Very peaceful and beautiful!
5 on September 04, 2013
This place is remarkable. We have searched and searched for a location that actually gives you the sense of "getting away". This is the place! Sometimes the meals at B&B can be hit or miss. The food here was amazing! Each breakfast was refreshing, delicious, and had variety. The dinner was also at the professional grade gourmet level. The hosts were wonderful. They gave you space, but were also happy to have meaningful conversation. The one really really bad thing is that I am not sure we can stay at any other B&B ever again!
5 on September 03, 2013
My wife and I returned to Mission Oak Inn for the second time in two years -- this time to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Once again, innkeepers Denny and Jan Reed exceeded all our expectations with their hospitality and warmth. The inn itself is impeccable, and the property is overwhelmingly beautiful. Dining with Denny and Jan was, as before, one of the most special parts of our stay -- the food is excellent, and the conversation around the table a delight. This will certainly not be our last stay at this beautiful B&B!
5 on September 02, 2013
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful 2 night weekend getaway! Mission Oak Inn exceeded our expectations. Jan and Denny were two of the most caring hosts we have ever met. Everything from the cleanliness of the rooms and the wonderful taste of Denny's wonderful meals kept us speechless. It was our first time at a Bed and Breakfast and the most memorable at that. We definitely recommend this B&B if you want top of the line service.

My 40th birthday was approaching, and we wanted to get away somewhere in-state (Illinois). Mission Oak was so perfect for us in every way. 5 on February 17, 2013
Located on 120 acres and very off the "beat and path", Mission Oaks Inn was a great place to go and leave everything behind. The grounds are lovely! The room is a suite, with a fireplace and whirlpool that almost pull you in and call you to relax. We played games; we watched the hundreds of birds that clearly know who has feeders always filled up (:))); we did a wine tasting in the small town of Lacon 15 minutes or so away. Along with relaxing, we had our palates overflowing with Denny's great food. We were met at the door Friday evening (after a later arrival than expected) with dessert. We had cookies left in the room each day. And breakfast -- oh my. We love staying in B & Bs, and we've stayed in many across the US. BY FAR, this was the best breakfast we've had. The food is overflowing, the service is incredible (thanks, Jan!!!) and the talk while watching the many kinds of birds feeding and seeing the sun and clouds over the lake -- makes for a great morning. We also did the dinner package and helped cook Cornish hens and other goodies. We went home with leftovers, with a cookbook and a cutting board made by Denny in his wood shop, and with a sense of calm. We definitely plan another visit - as did countless others who wrote in the journals and/or on these review pages.

We have visited Mission Oak Inn several times. It is always a great escape from the bustle of "real life". Like other reviews, we appreciate the accommodations and supreme cleanliness of the room and common areas. Denny's cooking is amazing, and if you stay here you really should eat dinner as well as breakfast at the Inn. We look forward to our next stay!
5 on January 02, 2013
This was our second stay at Mission Oak Inn. Two night stay, just isn't enough. The lake is almost frozen over and so beautiful when the snow is blowing over top. I know the fish under the crest of ice are just waiting for ice fishermen. I cant say enough about the room amenities... the jacuzzi fits two so nicely, the house robes are massively comfy, the fireplace gloo'ing while in the bath or laying of the sofa or bed, the bed itself and bedding... first class in a warmth christian environment. Seven stars on the food.. we enjoyed the beef tenderloin, oh my was this delicious. The breakfasts - you just cant eat this good anywhere. Yes, we are fond of Mission Oak Inn, Denny and Jan but truly, this is a bed and breakfast worth staying at for the country warmth and feel, and a touch of class.
5 on December 19, 2012
This B&B was beyond exceptional in every aspect! The room was special with a beautiful fireplace. The food was better than a gourmet restaurant. The innkeepers were so,friendly and interested in making our stay the best ever. We would recommend this B&B to everyone, and we plan to spend another weekend there in the near future.

I was tempted to #not# leave a review because I felt like we'd stumbled upon one of Central Illinois' best-kept secrets. (Yes, it's a quite a bit selfish.) But the fact is, Denny and Jan deserve every wonderful review. My wife, Kari, and I spent a fantastic weekend here---in a rainy December! (It wasn't even the best time of the year!) But let me tell you, Denny and Jan are the most wonderful hosts. Denny is also an excellent chef--we very much enjoyed is culinary creations! Their home is #immaculate.# Seriously, I would dare you to find a B&B or hotel that is this pristine. The whole properly is absolutely beautiful, and we were even here on a rainy and cool weekend. This is the perfect place for peace and quite and some well-needed relaxation. Do yourself (and perhaps your spouse) a big favor and book a weekend at the Mission Oak Inn. You will be so glad you did. We certainly were, and we'll be back again soon. Thanks again to Denny and Jan for a great weekend getaway.

We have stayed here twice this year and look forward to our next visit with Denny & Jan. There is so much we love about this place; it is always neat and clean, well kept, and a welcoming environment. I have been there in the spring and fall and hope to come back to experience Mission Oak Inn in the winter as well.

Denny and Jan made our first experience with a B&B very memorable. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. We stayed here for a few nights after our wedding to relax and enjoy being newlyweds. Denny and Jan made us feel like royalty. It was a good thing we were no longer on a wedding diet because anything and everything Denny makes is beyond delicious. If you are looking for a quiet and secluded B&B with fabulous service this is the place to go. We are already planning a trip back for our first anniversary!!!

It is very quiet and peaceful and the fishing is great. The food there is top notch, Denny is a great chef. We will be booking another stay in March & September 2013, a year is too long to wait to visit again. Jan & Denny are very nice and make your stay wonderful.

What a great gift I gave my husband for Christmas. Used the certificate. What a great, restful day & night away for a retired couple who never go on vacations. My husband was in his glory fishing on the pond & catching fish -- no TV -- wonderful food & warm hospitality.
5 on August 30, 2012
Mission Oak Inn is a must see-and-stay kind of place. I have heard people tell me about different bed & breakfast inns they have been to, but I bet they never stayed in a place like this. From the moment we arrived, Jan and Denny made us feel right at home. Very warm and welcoming. The room was absolutelyclean and beautiful with everything we needed to make us comfortable. And the meals (breakfast and dinner) were fantastic. No need to worry about going hungry here! The lake and surrounding property was serene and peaceful and, at times, breathtaking. They pay attention to detail in a way that appears effortless, and it's obvious they enjoy making everyone who stays here welcome. You can see it in everything this place has to offer. They even have information about other places and towns to visit, but if you want to stay on the property, you're more than welcome. Once you visit, I promise you won't want to leave! We will most definitely be back. Nothing but wonderful things to say about our stay here.

Wow! What an amazing get away from home! Let me just say that this is the most incredible, picturesque, extremely clean, outstanding service and the food was scrumptious. Who would have guessed that this treasure would be hidden just off a gravel road in rural Henry, Illinois? Leaving the cornfields behind and driving onto the property was like Dorothy leaving her black-and-white house and emerging into the glorious Technicolor of Oz. The property is absolutely stunning -- the tranquility of the lake, the vibrant colors of the flowers, the vigorous activity of countless hummingbirds, all suggesting the unspoiled beauty of the Creation as it was intended. The house itself combines the warmth of rustic charm with the indulgence of modern convenience. Everything is immaculate -- the room, the dining area, the common areas, the porch -- and the garden and lake are well-tended. The food is outstanding, artfully prepared and elegantly served. And the crowning feature of this gem is the gracious hospitality of its hosts, Denny and Jan Reed, whose openhearted friendliness (coupled with their skill and passion in what they do) make Mission Oak Inn truly unique.

My wife and I have stayed at Mission Oak twice now, and we absolutely love it! Aside from the house, the property is gorgeous and there's so much to do if you're a person who enjoys the outdoors. We hope to return again and again!

Mission Oak Inn is one place to go to relax...to get away from it all...to enjoy the outdoors....fishing....hiking...campfires by the lake....or just plain sitting outside & enjoying watching the birds, wildlife and fantastic sunsets. And on top of all this...there is Jan and Denny. These two are made for each other, and work so well not only as innkeepers, but as a team. They are outstanding hosts, who think of "every little thing" that would make your stay a memorable one. Love the peace Mission Oak Inn has to offer. God has blessed Jan and Denny, so they can truly bless others by this place, and their hospitiality. Yes...we will be back for more & tell others to try it, so that they can fall in love with the place, as we have.

We had heard such wonderful things about Mission Oak Inn and we were so excited when we finally got to go ourselves. The area is gorgeous and the house and rooms are so clean and beautiful. We loved looking at all the wonderful wood work. The food was some of the best we ever had. Denny and Jan are fantastic hosts. We felt so welcome the second we came in and they are so easy to talk to. The hiking was great and the lake is beautiful. We will definitely be coming back again. Thank you Denny and Jan!

This was one of the truly relaxing B & B experiences we've had. There was no pressure to go anywhere. The rooms were well appointed and cozy. The inn is welcoming and surrounded by beautiful gardens and wildlife; the hiking trail and ability to fish the lake an added bonus. Jan and Denny are gracious hosts and the food is incredible. I'd love to come back during the winter. We would highly recommend this inn.

Denny and Jan are such gracious hosts. They truly want you to enjoy every part of your stay, and go above and beyond to make sure you do. The meals were unbelievably good- Denny even catered to my food allergies- far exceeding my expectations. The rooms and property were just as pictured on their website. The property is in a very quiet area, extremely peaceful surrroundings.

This was our second stay at the Mission Oak Inn. We enjoyed being surrounded by nature. The fishing was good, the hiking trail was beautiful and we have never seen so many hummingbirds-just a few feet from the door of the Bird Lover's Suite! Of course the food is outstanding and the room was clean and fabulous!

My wife and I stayed here for four nights to get away from the city. The trip couldn't have been better, and it mostly has to do with our stay at Mission Oak Inn. Denny and Jan greeted us upon our arrival and showed us around our amazing room. It was extremely clean, big and chock full of nice bells and whistles such as a fireplace and jacuzzi bathtub. Each morning we were treated to a gourmet breakfast (one sweet and one savory item), delicious coffee, and even an appetizer. Denny and Jan shared with us all about wonderful things to do in the surrounding area, and also encouraged us to relax around their inn, which might have been the best part of the trip. The peace and quiet we experienced, plus seeing a wide range of animals including birds, deer, geese, fish, really made us feel as if we were worlds away from the hustle and bustle of our life back home in Chicago. Highly recommended to anyone interested in getting away, relaxing, and being very well taken care of by gracious hosts.

We love to visit Mission Oak Inn about once a year. This was our third time and it didn't disappoint! Denny and Jan are fabulous hosts and Denny is a great chef! WOW - just got back from a VERY relaxing time at Mission Oak Inn! Denny and Jan were great hosts. The food was fantastic! (If you are planning to go, be sure to have Denny prepare a dinner for you.) We enjoyed the lake, hiking the woods, and doing a little cycling on the country roads. Our only regret was when check-out time came. If you ever need to recharge and reconnect - this is the place!

Our stay at the Mission Oak Inn was amazing. My wife and I were looking for somewhere close to get away for the weekend as we needed some time alone. The room we stayed in was neat, clean and orderly. It was accurately described and exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely amazing. We had 2 dinners in addition to the breakfasts. All of the food was wonderful and we left the table not wanting anything. The host provided wonderful conversation in addition to superior service. We have recommended the Mission Oak Inn to friends and family. We are already planning our next trip there.

Denny and Jan were the perfect hosts as they were available when needed but gave us the privacy desired. Denny's cooking abilities, explanation and tips were very well received. The setting, ambience and warmth of the Inn showed attention to detail plus the property design (pond, landscaping, porches and decks, etc.) was set up for the enjoyment of the guests. We will definitely visit again and were impressed by this charming B & B Inn.

Denny & Jan were so accommodating, the food was divine, and the Bird Lover's Suite was fantastic... such a great escape from reality! We will definitely be returning and recommending this beautiful hidden gem to our friends. It was a little too cold to fish this visit, but we aim to do so next time!

Denny's breakfasts and evening homemade desserts were so delicious. Jan's kept our suite so clean and her hospitality was top notch. We have been to several bed and breakfasts over the years but none can compare. B & M Hayes, Wi.

Wow! My husband and I are so impressed with the Mission Oak Inn! It's setting in the country means a quiet, peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of living in a larger city. The inn and guest rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the whole atmosphere is relaxing. Denny made us an incredible dinner and breakfast, and we can't wait to go back! We felt so welcome and at home. Thanks, Denny and Jan!

Our recent stay at Mission Oak Inn was a delight! We enjoyed a leisurely walk as we drank in the peace and serenity of the scenic lake and nearby woods. Our spacious room was not only warm and inviting, but immaculate and tastefully decorated in a quaint, outdoorsy style. The gourmet food was definitely five-star and was as beautiful to look at as it was delicious to eat! Aside from all of this, the thing we enjoyed most was getting to know our hosts, Denny and Jan. The two of them are as warm and inviting as their beautiful inn and upon leaving, we felt as if we had made two new friends.

We enjoyed our stay at this Inn, nestled into the countryside, at the edge of timber. The views across the prairie (and the lake on the property) were lovely, framed by oaks and willows. The innkeepers, Jan and Denny, anticipated our needs, and offered us both company and privacy as we wished. We loved the company of a variety of birds and wildlife. The food was delicious, the Inn itself is beautiful, with gorgeous woodwork and lovely decor. We had a restful, fun time, and we'll definitely keep the Mission Oak Inn at the top of our destination list.

What a wonderful way to surprise my spouse for our anniversary "getaway" weekend. It is obvious that Jan and Denny love what they do by their hospitality and their attention to every detail. We appreciated the country setting where we found no reason to leave but only to relax and enjoy the peaceful nature of a beautiful fall weekend. Our next stay will be for two days instead of one.
5 on October 24, 2011
What a peaceful place! Your room is so warm and inviting. You lay back and just say ahhhh...You start to relax. This is just the beginning. It just keeps getting better and better. Denny and Jan are very kind and make you feel like old friends. The view is breath taking and so peaceful. The inn is beautiful inside and out with the woodworking and decor with a homey feeling. The food is excellent beyond what you can imagine. You leave the inn with new memories and new friends with a big desire to return for another visit. You get that feeling that life is good.

This was our first visit to a bed and breakfast, and I am convinced that Jan and Denny and their Mission Oak in have ruined any future bed and breakfast experiences. Their hospitality and service were amazing. The room was beautiful, comfortable and immaculate. From the homemade lasagna dinner with made from scratch pumpkin praline cheesecake to the majesty of God's landscape to the relaxing whirpool tub and fireplace in our room, this stay exceeded any expectations I had of a bed and breakfast! I will definitely be back!

The Mission Oak Inn is an awesome place to stay! My husband & I stayed there to celebrate our anniversary. We felt SO pampered! The food is delicious ... and the room is so cozy. We also enjoyed the walking trail through the woods. My husband did a little fishing, too. All in all ... we had a very relaxing & enjoyable time & it was very difficult to come back to the "real" world after such a wonderful experience! Denny & Jan are awesome hosts. We will definitely be back!

Mission Oak Inn provided my wife and I a very special experience- a romantic time together in spotless, beautiful accommodations! The home is lovely and exhibits wonderful craftsmanship in woodworking, wood carvings and charm. The home overlooks a pristine lake with wildlife for viewing pleasure. We enjoyed a hike through the fall foliage of their woods. The food was absolutely delicious and presented as a work of art! A special part of this memorable experience was the fellowship and new friendship with Denny and Jan. Jan is an outstanding hostess who does not miss any details. From her gracious attention to every need during a meal to her meticulous housekeeping, providing fresh flowers and plush robes in the bedroom, Jan is part of this special husband and wife team. Denny is an exceptional chef, very talented artist and craftsman and warm and gentle person. Our experience will be long remembered and treasured. God bless the Reeds!

We stayed here for one night as part of a weekend getaway of various local activities. The house and the property are stunning! The lake is perfect - clean and well maintained, with plenty of fish! Denny and Jan make you feel like family and invite you to use their canoe or electric propelled pontoon boat for a relaxing time on the lake. We dropped a line in several times and caught several crappie and bluegill with little effort. It's very quiet and peaceful out there - a rare find. The Lodge room was very nice. Both rooms are separated and have private entrances and are very quiet. The whirlpool bath worked well. The bed was very comfortable as well! The gas for the fireplace was not turned on due to the abnormally warm weather, so we didn't get to try that. The robes were a nice touch and everything in the room was clean, fresh and modern. For the food, we chose to have the lasagna for dinner, which was quite tasty. The salad was also good. Denny uses fresh ingredients from the property where he can, which is very nice. The dessert of peach cobbler and pumpkin cheesecake was fantastic. Breakfast was even better. Instead of the usual french toast, we were treated to "puffed" pancakes, with caramel apple sauce - delicious. Also included was an egg and sausage quiche. Unlike some B&Bs, they offer you second helpings if you can find room for it, which is a nice touch. This is now our new favorite B&B for the food, lake and friendly hosts. We'll be back.

Denny & Jan are MOST gracious hosts...EVERYTHING about the inn is immaculate, thoughtfully planned and maintained. Even better than that is the warm & friendly kindness of Denny & Jan themselves. Very personable & enjoyable to get to know. Highly recommend planning to eat dinners at the inn. Delicious, gourmet quality, & generous quantities.

From the pastoral drive winding through the cornfields, to the views across the lake, Mission Oak Inn helps your inner nature lover feel right at home. Your inner housekeeper will be awed by the careful attention to detail in your room, and your inner gourmet will be wowed by Denny's fabulous culinary creations... Be sure to take the walk around the lake and ask to feed the fish as well. What a perfect getaway!

My wife and I spent our 1st anniversary at this wonderful place. The hosts were very friendly and the food was amazing! The pumpkin praline cheecake was out of this world! We decided to do a little fishing after we woke up in the morning and in 45 minutes we were able to catch two 4-5 pound channel catfish, one 2-3 pound bass and several nice sized bluegill from the dock. Maybe I should not review this place because as word gets around it will become harder to book rooms. This is truely an amazing B&B and one at which you should stay at!

The innkeepers are GREAT people that made our stay. The food is unbelievable, tried 2 new meals. We have already booked our Anniversary weekend next September and plan on returning in the winter. We just had our first B&B experience at Mission Oak Inn and absolutely loved our stay! It's such a peaceful spot to get away from the busyness of life and slow down. The setting is beautiful with the lake, abundance of birds, and flowers. Jan and Denny were very gracious hosts and we really enjoyed getting to know them. We especially appreciated all of the little details they thought of - cookies in our room each day, popcorn for a night snack, water in the fridge, extra towels for the whirlpool tub, and on and on! Our room was extraordinarily clean (which we greatly appreciated!). Breakfast was spectacular and the most delicious we've ever had. We also chose to have dinner one night and it was well worth it! We cannot say enough about what a great place Mission Oak Inn is to stay and we cannot wait to go back!

Mission Oak Inn provides a restful and relaxing setting, complete with a resident gourmet chef and the hospitality like that of dear friends. The Reed's home is beautiful, serene, and very clean. They have thought of everything in the amenities they provide to their guests and if you think of something you need, they will go out of their way to help you with your requests. This was our second stay and we were not disappointed. Our only regret is not going back to this beautiful setting much sooner.
5 on July 10, 2011
We thoroughly enjoyed this modern B&B. The setting is beautiful with the lake and wildlife. The Bird Lover's room was perfect-tastefully decorated, complete with ammenities such as books, magazines, games and an Illinois bird book with binoculars. Denny and Jan were wonderful hosts-many good conversations. The food was so delicious, plentiful and creatively presented. We couldn't have asked for a better get-a-way & will most definitely be returning again!

Our Mission Oak Inn experience was "completely as advertised"! The house and property were unbelievable. Denny and Jan are experts in the area of attention to detail. Our stay there was the most memorable wedding anniversary get-away we ever had ... at least maybe until next year! Average cost for one night at a B&B about $140.00 ... a night at the Mission Oak Inn PRICELESS!!

Our first visit to Mission Oak Inn was absolutely wonderful. Friends had recommended the Inn and our experience was completely positive. Jan and Denny Reed are gracious hosts and very talented cooks -- we ate very well!! I'm certain that I am the least exprienced and qualified fisherman of our foursome, but I did catch the first fish and it was over two pounds -- what fun and what a treat. Can't wait to share this lovely location with our children.

This was our first stay at Mission Oak and it was wonderful! The property is amazingly well kept and the amenities are top notch, but what we will remember most is the genuine kindness and love that the innkeepers showered us with. Thank you for taking care of us and making our getaway so enjoyable. We can't wait until our next visit!

We recommend this Inn very highly and are planning to return.

Mission Oak Inn B & B is a lovely, peaceful, and private place to get away from phones and the busyness of everyday life. We've been there at least 4 times and will be many more to come. Jan & Denny are the greatest! Friendly, and will visit with you if you want or let you have your privacy. We had fun fishing from one of their pontoon boats and caught some nice croppies and bluegills. Denny cooked them for supper for us along with coleslaw, baked beans, fresh veges, some of which were from their garden and other goodies. We also had his award winning Apple Cider marinated Pork, which was melt in your mouth delicious...and the cheesecakes... oh, my! Fudge Truffle is our favorite, but everything he makes is spectacularly yummy! Always a great time, even if it rains, they have games, movies and lots of time to relax and be blessed!

Usually a bed and breakfast has to be far away, but this was only 20 min from home and it was WONDERFUL. The food was fantastic - never before have we had to get a take home box b/c we couldn't eat all of our food. It was sooo good. We stayed in the bird lovers room and I kept jumping up to take pictures of all the birds that would come to the feeders. It was so relaxing. Everything was perfect. It was very clean and we really enjoyed having our supper with the innkeepers. We would definitely go back again and have recommended this B&B to all of our friends. This is one that everyone should visit.

All of our expectations have been blown out of the water by Mission Oak Inn. Jan & Denny were wonderful hosts, served delicious meals and have obviously put a great deal of thoughtful planning into what a B&B should be like. We stayed in the Bird Lover's room. Unlike other B&B's, the rooms have a private entrance. This room has a porch that looks out on their large lake. All the decor in the room was high quality, from the hot tub to the fireplace. They (appropriately) have bird feeders outside the door, so it's easy to watch goldfinches and woodpeckers gather each morning. And since the house is new and well-built, it's insulated against their chirping. We didn't notice any noise from the birds even right outside. We loved our time at Mission Oak and can't recommend it highly enough!

The thing we loved most about this weekend was the attention to details. There was a basket in the room that had a popcorn bag, hot chocolate mix, coffee mix, tea bags, and there were mugs to make drinks. The whirlpool had scents to put in it and it was the perfect size for two people. We lovd the fireplace and how easily you could turn it on. It provided a wonderful heat when you came in from the cold winter wind. The complimentary dessert was like something out of a homeade bakery. Breakfast in the morning was the best we have ever had. It was truely fantastic. The service was so warm and welcoming. The beds were comfy, the room was spotless, and the entire stay was just wonderful. We enjoyed going to the neighboring towns and visiting the town theatre, going to Julie's Corner Store to sample some of her famous fudge, and the Pizza Peel had the most amazing and great priced pizza we have had in a while. We had such a wonderful time here and will be saving up to return as soon as we can!

The Mission Oak Inn is a wonderful getaway! The food is AMAZING, and so are the rooms and the location! Denny and Jan have thought of every detail to be sure their guests have a restful and relaxing time away from "real life". My husband enjoyed a snowy tromp through the woods. Our anniversary is in December, but we want to try to come up with a holiday that we can celebrate in a warm month so we can go back and canoe on the lake and enjoy the outdoors more!

This stay was a surprise birthday getaway from my wife. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, and I was completely surprised by the weekend stay. We had a great time. Denny and Jan are great hosts. The meals were fantastic. The location was very peaceful, and the fall colors enhanced the stay. I have already recommended Mission Oak Inn to many of my friends, and my wife and I are already talking about our next stay.

From the moment we arrived till the moment with left, we were pampered to the hilt. Jan & Denny have mastered what a B&B is about, what is needed & how to leave a lasting impression that leads to returning customers & mastering the idea of one positive experience leads to 10 positive future recommendations. The layout of the B&B was perfect for us. We stayed in Bird Watching room, which is probably the best room of the two; of course that depends on each persons individual desires. The room sits on the North-west side of the house, it over looks the lake, has a private entrance & an outside open porch with seating for two. Inside all the amenities are there from a fire place, excellent whirlpool tub (designed with the guest in mind), bed, couch recliner, mini refrigerator, microwave, sm kitchen table for 2, awesome comfortable robes, bird watching materials & more. In addition, a television, DVD player & movies compliments of the host were avail, as well as internet access. We were greeted every afternoon with 3 awesome cookies. There are few B&B’s we have stayed at where the breakfast was a true compliment to the stay. The fresh seasonings & vegetables, home baked bread w/berries & apples from the farm & everything else that went into cooking from fillings in the eggs & dumplings to the warm touch of love that met our delight was beyond our expectations. We ordered dinner during 1 of the 3 nights of our stay. Although I was ill before dinner, I was able to eat a little of it as it was freshly presented to its feaster. The tenderness of the meat & the cheese mushroom stuffing which filled it was a fantasy to the palette. This B&B is one of the best we have stayed at yet. Although modest were our hosts they truly got it, understood what we needed during our stay and were very accommodating. Thank you for giving us what we needed, Best Kimberly & Chip.

Our 4th stay and everytime we return it keeps getting better. Not only does the inn continue to be well maintained but Jan and Denny have made upgrades to deck furniture and installed two new fishing piers and a campfire area. As for fishing, the fish are bigger than ever. The fishing, good food, and friendly innkeepers will bring us back again and again.

My husband and I visited for our anniversary earlier this year and had a great visit. We enjoyed walking around the lake and sitting downstairs to read. The room was very clean and comfortable. We didn't eat supper there, but the cheesecake for dessert was the best cheesecake I've ever had and breakfast was wonderful. Denny and Jan were wonderful to visit with as well. We can't wait to go back next year!
5 on October 12, 2010
The fishing say's it all!! We had a wonderful time fishing and relaxed at the end of the day with a wonderful dinner. Woke with the best breakfast in the world and back out on their beautiful lake for fish that Denny even cleaned for us. Outstanding to say the least!

The perfect bed and breakfast. Denny and Jan are so welcoming and friendly, and their attention to every little detail make this place simply amazing. Nestled in a quiet town in Central Illinois, this is anything but the ordinary bed and breakfast. The food was incredible and everything was so incredibly relaxing. What a great getaway from the stress and everyday busyness.

We first stayed at Mission Oak last December during an ice storm. It was wonderful...relaxing, a great get away. We enjoyed it so much that my husband suggested we go back for our 30th anniversary so we could fish also. We had a great time & caught lots of crappie and blue gill. Even some nice bass. The breakfast was excellent as was the sumptious picnic basket we had the night before. (The basket is a great choice if you are fishing, as you can have it on your time schedule) When we left our gracious hosts we booked ahead for our 31st! I've recommended it to several friends!!

This quiet bed and breakfast is a gem in the middle of central Illinois. The grounds are full of wildlife, and you can take a walk or a canoe ride on the lake to enjoy it. Wonderful, clean rooms with lots of amenities: TV, double-sided fireplace, board games, robes, and best of all, double jacuzzi tub. Innkeepers are quite pleasant and attend to whatever one might need. Denny makes a terrific breakfast.
5 on August 15, 2010
This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast, and boy were we surprised! We haven't had such good food at most of the restaurants in Chicago, let alone expected it from a B&B! The room was beautiful, it was like having our own little residence for the night, complete with whirlpool and fireplace! I think our favorite part was watching all the hummingbirds at the feeders. There has to be tons of them, there were always two to three on the feeders, if not more (I think eight was the most we saw around just one of the feeders), there were always tons more flying in the trees! We definitely will return, but next time with our fishing poles! It was so peaceful and serene, the best getaway we could have asked for!
5 on August 13, 2010
Mission Oak in far exceeded our expectations. The food was outstanding as well as the room and service. We only drove an hour to get there yet it felt like it was thousands of miles away. We were in our own little serene world and it was easy to leave the cares of the world behind for the entire length of our stay. Jan and Denny were wonderful hosts. Denny's cooking was excellent and very tasty. Jan is a natural hostess and made it look effortless. I especially loved the scenery and watching the hummingbirds from the porch. Mission Oak Inn is the best place to find peace and quiet in a serene setting.

We celebrated our anniversary by staying at Mission Oak Inn one night and really enjoyed our visit due to the beautiful location, amazing desserts in the evening, wonderful room which was so comfortable and decorated nicely, and breakfast fit for a king the next morning! The small shops we visited in town the next day were also a great extension of our visit. Thanks, Denny and Jan, for a wonderful place to visit, amazing food, and great hospitality!

Great lakeside spot situated in the middle of quiet farm fields. Not a fisherman but can see why it makes a great location to do some angling. Wife and I loved the food and the inroom hot tub! For those who enjoy cycling this location is near some very nice "rails-to-trails" hiking/biking paths.

Mission Oak Inn is a beautiful and unique getaway, just far enough away from the hussle and bussle of the City. We really enjoyed our room, the fishing and the wonderful meals. The owners are very friendly and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home.

Each aspect of our stay at MOI was top-notch: our room, the view, the hosts, the food, the tranquility... just what we were looking for in a B&B!
5 on June 10, 2010
With only two days to honeymoon, we found this local B&B to be a great place to spend it. The room was comfortable and private, Kenny's food was fantastic, the lake with trail around it and fire pit was a joy, and the wildlife from hummingbirds to howling coyotes in the distance at night resulted a relaxing and restful vacation for two working professionals.

If you're looking for a quiet, clean, and peaceful place to sleep, then look no further. The Mission Oak Inn is a wonderful hidden little paradise situated on a lake full of blue gill and catfish. We were lucky enough to stay when four different families of Canadian geese where raising their baby goslings as well. There are all types of birds to watch from the bird lover’s room, most amazing to see were the hummingbirds. Or if you want to just want to sit back on the reclining couch and watch a good movie in front of the fireplace- you can do that as well. For breakfast we had cinnamon rolls, egg souffle', and lemon curd crepes and we still have the sweet taste of the crepes in our mouth 24 hours later. Not only is he a master craftsman but an amazing chef! All of the food was prepared and served with the utmost attention to quality and detail. We will definitely be coming back in future for more great conversation and relaxation.

They made sure our stay was great and the food being most excellent! It was definetly a peaceful relaxing environment away from the hustle and bustle. Plus it was real cool to fish right there in a pond loaded with fish. We will be going back there again soon.

We celebrated our 19th Anniversary and first B&B stay at Mission Oak. It was wonderful. Denny & Jan are excellent hosts and make you feel welcome in their home. Jan keeps the inn immaculate and is very accomodating. Make sure you ask about dinner and you bring your appetite. Denny is a superb chef. Denny's craftmanship is evident throughout every room of the inn. The fishing is great and Denny can provide a couple hints to ensure your success. I had not caught a crappie in more than 30 years, this morning I caught five in less than 30 minutes. Thanks Jan & Denny for a most enjoyable and relaxing stay!

My husband and I enjoyed the privacy of our room and relaxing atmosphere. We were there in February and can't wait to return when the weather is nicer. The food is amazing!!! We will definately be returning!

The Lodge Suite at the Mission Oak Inn was the perfect place to spend our getaway weekend. From the corner fireplace to the intimate jacuzzi to the rural ambiance, we could not have asked for more.
5 on January 23, 2010
Our stay at Mission Oak Inn was a "winter getaway" and birthday retreat. It is a beautiful retreat - you feel like you are in the middle of the country when in reality you are just a few miles from nearby cities/towns. As soon as we stepped out of our car, we were immediately aware of the quiet you can only experience in the country. Our hosts, Jan and Denny were extremely gracious, providing information on nearby restaurants and shopping opportunities. The meals at the inn were incredibly delicious. Our room afforded us peace and quiet, while still providing us with all the amenities of a quality hotel. Birds feeders around the inn were hosts to woodpeckers, nuthatches, finches, and many other varieties we don't often seen in town. We loved it and we will return.

It was nice to break from the stress of Life and enjoy my spouse. We forgot about the pressures and Life situations. Can't wait to come back again.

My husband and I received a gift certificate as a gift. We were so happy to find the Mission Oak was in the country, it was so quiet, serene and relaxing. Watching the birds at the bird feeder out the dining area window was so sweet. Makes me want to have bird feeders outside my windows. Denny is an outstanding chef, and Jan was so easy to talk to, and a great hostess. I would have Denny prepare dinner if I went again, (and we will be back.) We have been going to B&Bs for over 14 years, this one is at the top of our list. I don't think we've ever sat at the dining table so long and talked and laughed with the other guests along with Jan and Denny.

My husband found Mission Oak Inn and I will always be so grateful for his discovery. It was just what we needed for a quiet getaway apart from our crazy life with three children. Denny and Jan welcomed us with a delightful picnic basket to take back to our room to enjoy in front of the cozy fireplace. That set the tone for a relaxing and pampering weekend. The food was amazing and luckily they have a nice path around the lake to try to walk off some of the calories! The room was perfect, the quiet was much needed, and the feeling of being away from it all was much appreciated.

Can't say enough good things about our hosts or their heavenly accomodations.

I chose this place based on internet reviews and location for a place for my husband and me to spend our 1st anniversary. We stayed in January which is a cold month in Illinois, but the place was still charming. Wonderful hosts, great food, beautiful rooms. A very tranquil setting if you want to just get away from it all!

We have fallen in love with this Bed & Breakfast. The peace and quiet was so nice. We can't say enough about the food, I haven't had such good food since my mother passed away. The owners, Jan and Denny are very nice and know how to take care of their guests. We rented the mini pontoon and spent as much time as we could on it the 2 days we were there. I caught so many fish and had alot of fun doing it. There is just so much more to say about this place. We already booked our reservations for next years anniversary. We are also booking another stay in May 2010 with another couple. It was well worth the drive and money.

This was a lovely place to spend our 35th wedding anniversary. Quiet and charming, we stayed in the bird lovers room and enjoyed the company of a flock of hummingbirds, a variety of other birds and beautiful butterflies attracted to the blooming flowerbeds and feeders. As first time B&B guests, Mission Oak Inn has set a high standard and we are eager to try new places...and return to Henry, IL, and Mission Oak Inn.

Driving up the road to Mission Oak, we were very impressed with the attention to detail. The interior woodwork was completed by Denny and it make us feel like we were home. Our room had everything we could have asked for,a two person whirlpool with a fireplace nearby. Denny was our chef and baker, whose creations were fabulous. Last but not least, the lake that Jan and Denny had on their property brought us so much enjoyment. We fished all weekend and had a great tome. We left feeling so relaxed and with renewed spirit.

From the minute my wife and I arrived at this hidden gem, we knew we were somewhere special. The Reeds were so warm, inviting and friendly. The Lodge suite offered a very cozy feel and wonderful view. Denny's beef tenderloin filet for dinner (extra charge but WORTH IT!) and stuffed French toast for breakfast were two of the best meals we've had ANYWHERE! We took the pontoon boat out for some fishing and my wife caught a large crappy and good size bass. We had such a wonderful time, we've already got our next stay booked. Book your stay NOW!

What a wonderful decision we made to stay at the Mission Oak for our 40th wedding anniversary. The country location is beautiful and quiet. The accommodations were excellent- clean and attractive, with attention to details. The breakfast and dinner meals, prepared by Denny, were outstanding. The fishing was fun, even though the weather did not cooperate for us. Jan and Denny make folks feel comfortable and at ease; they have done a fantastic job with Mission Oak. We will recommend it to others and ill most likely go back!

Denny & Jan are outstanding hosts! They are very friendly and welcome you with open arms! The hospitality is great. From the moment we got there to the moment we left we felt very welcome and at peace there. Located in a very secluded area. The rooms have their own private entrance and bathrooms which is a big plus for a B&B! The rooms are VERY clean, beautifully decorated. Fireplace is nice next to the whirlpool for two. There is satalite TV and wireless internet! Plenty of great hiking and beautiful scenery! Fishing there is great. The food is amazing!! Desserts were to die for. Breakfast was incredible. Denny is a fabulous cook and has a published recipe book. Highly recommend getting a copy. I did. We look forward to our next stay! We booked our next getaway before we left to assure we got ahead of the rush. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!

Wow, what an amazing getaway!! We enjoyed every part about this bed and breakfast. When we first arrived and were greeted so warmly by Jan we knew we would sure feel so comfortable. Then after review of the suite and it's wonderful view over the lake we knew we would love it. We then proceeded to the dining area which also over looked the beautiful lake and enjoyed the company given to us by Denny and Jan in their incredible kitchen. Denny made us the most delightful dinner that we will never forget, and we loved having someone wait on us for once instead of our four children that we wait on all the time. We would love to return to this exquisite B&B.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Mission Oak Inn for the 4th time in 2 years. Our schedules have been hectic and chaotic from working, attending kids' activities, taking care of aging parents, keeping church committments, etc. We needed to get away from it all! Mission Oak Inn was just what we needed. We stayed at Mission Oak Inn when the temperatures were hovering around 0 degrees F, but we stayed warm. Our room had its own fireplace and 2 person hot tub. We pre-ordered dinner, so a hot, sumptuous meal was right there for us--no driving around in the freezing cold looking for a place to eat. It was delightful to be waited on and have no responsibilities. Denny and Jan were warm and welcoming and a pleasure to visit with. The food was delicious; Denny is an outstanding chef. It was healing for our marriage and lives to slow everything way down and relax. We look forward to returning when the weather is warmer and enjoying the out-of-doors. If we had to suggest anything that could improve our experience, the viewing angle of the TV could be better. And in this day and age of larger screen TVs, a larger screen would be nice. Also, for rural Illinois, $165 a night might be a little high; it is for our budget, anyway. But those issues pale in comparison to our overall experience. Mission Oak Inn is outstanding and we highly recommend it!
5 on February 06, 2009
This was my husband's and my 1st experience with a bed and breakfast, and we absolutely loved it! The food was excellent, the rooms extremely clean, the host couple very hospitable, and the setting very relaxing. We are already making plans to come back during warmer weather so that we can try out the fishing.

The quiet of the countryside and our hosts gracious hospitality set the scene...After soaking in an over-sized jacuzzi tub next to the warmth of a 2-sided fireplace, I crawled into the deep softness of a downy bed and realized that I was more completely RELAXED than I'd felt for months. We highly recommend this inn to anyone wanting a quiet country retreat!

Mission Oak Inn is in a lovely setting. Denny and Jan are incredibly hospitable and have anticipated every need, and then some. We enjoyed a snowy hike through the woods -- the perfect way to work up an appetite for an absolutely delicious dinner! The quiet was truly therapeutic and we were able to rest and enjoy our 2 days there.

When we arrived, we were greeted at the door by the owners who took us on a tour of the property. After showing us to our georgous room, we were told that we could go down to the dining room to enjoy home made desserts, or take them back to our room. I had the cranberry eggnog cheese cake, my husband had a double chocolate turtle cheesecake, they were excellent! Our room was peaceful with a romantic ambiance. We had a private entry to the room off of a first floor private balcony. Our room included a private bathroom, double sided fireplace that divided a jacuzzi from the rest of the bedroom, mini-fridge, microwave, satalite t.v., c.d. player/ stereo, and reclining loveseat situated in front of the fireplace. In the morning we enjoyed a delicious gourmet breakfast in the dining room with a beautiful view of the lake. We stayed in January, so the lake was frozen, but in the summer they include fishing, boating, and a great view of wildlife. They have also included horse drawn carriage rides. It was the perfect place to stay for a romantic weekend getaway!

The decor of our room was great and made it very cozy and relaxing.

My husband and I wanted a quick relaxing overnight getaway and we definitely found it at the Mission Oak Inn. We arrived on a foggy cold winter's day and were instantly warmed by the Inn's beautiful woodwork and inviting Innkeepers. After some quiet time together and a quick nap we were treated to an excellent dinner of warm pork medallions with a mustard and maple glaze, creamy mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and a homemade loaf of garlic cheese bread. While we savored dinner we enjoyed the company of our Innkeepers and soaked in the country atmosphere of the Inn's kitchen and dining area. The cheesecake we took up to our room were just the right touch to feel pleasantly spoiled for the evening. Despite a local storm, our restful night led to another delicious meal of made to order omelets and a buttery, sugary slice of cinnamon pecan cake. We are currently planning a spring or summer trip when we can enjoy the beautiful atmosphere in full sunshine and take advantage of the fully-stocked lake.
5 on December 21, 2008
We planned our second trip in August after a wonderful weekend at Mission Oak inn. The date we planned the trip, an ice storm came through. They still had power so my wife and I still went up. The trees were beautiful around the lake and house providing a relaxing setting. It was the perfect place to hide from Old man winter's sting. The rooms were cozy with a fireplace keeping us warm. The in room whirlpool was about ready to massage us when the power went off. The wind snapped the power lines and trees. Denny right away got the generator and powered up the house so we had lights and power. Next morning he and Jan cooked a gourmet breakfast as if nothing was wrong. When we left, Denny drove with us in his four wheel drive till we made it to the main road. In my review I gave them an outstanding rating, but they do an amazing job at serving us. I am already planning a third stay in one year.
5 on December 08, 2008
Denny and Jan were gracious and accomodating! They want you to have the best overnight you have ever had. The experience was wonderful and made us feel like we were at home. The breakfast was delicious. The turtle cheesecake for my nighttime dessert was exceptional!

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Misson Oak Inn for our 36th wedding anniversary. When I was sitting on the porch looking out over the lake the first thing that came to my mind was a quote from the movie Field of Dreams, "Build it and they will come". I can not say enough about the relaxing accomidations, outstand food, and impeckable hospitality. Scott & Jackie

Mission Oak Inn is absolutely a beautiful place. We stayed at the end of July 2008 for our 1 year anniversary celebration. Denny and Jan were wonderful and so inviting. It was great getting acquainted with them during meals. Denny's cooking and woodwork were fabulous and Jan was incredibly thoughtful and accomodating. It was so quiet and peaceful out there, a wonderful get-away from the stresses of our daily life back at home and work. We got the best night's sleep we've ever gotten. Wonderful food, incredible food and great innkeepers! Most importantly, one comes away knowing Denny and Jan care about you. You can't ask for more at Mission Oak Inn.

Mission Oak Inn is one the most beautiful places on earth! We stayed for the weekend (last year) and were treated like royalty. Denny and Jan are down to earth hosts who are very warm and inviting. They make everything special right down to the last detail. The meals are out of this world (Thanks Denny!) and the view is breathtaking. We are looking forward to another visit very soon!

I found the Mission Oak Inn surfing the web trying to find a place for my fiance and I to elope. This was the place!! Jan and Denny were the most gracious hosts and we had the most beautiful, romantic, wedding on the back porch of the house. We were married in the morning and by noon, we were lounging and fishing in the pond. The food Denny cooked could be served in a five star restaurant! My husband and I cannot wait to go back to enjoy the peace and serenity offered. I have told everyone I know about this place. You must go!!
5 on November 05, 2008
The rooms are warm and inviting as are the hosts, Denny and Jan. There is a warm 'home away from home'/ 'Grandma's kitchen' sort of feel to the entire b&b. To go outdoors you feel miles away from reality. Denny is quite a cook and I would bet he could win any cooking challenge thrown his way~the extra cost for the meals are FAR worth it! The hospitality is exceptional! I could go on and on...don't know where to stop! Thanks Denny and Jan!!!
5 on November 05, 2008
If you are looking for the perfect getaway in a quiet, country setting, look no further. Jan and Denny have created the ultimate by providing their guests with "homey" surroundings and the best food you will ever eat!!! Every detail has been taken care of starting with the minute you walk through the door until your car pulls out of the driveway. Can't wait to go back!!!!

We just returned from our first stay at Mission Oak Inn. Notice I said, first stay... there will be others! Words cannot describe the luxury we found there. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms were well thought out and the most comfortable we're ever stayed in, EVER! The fishing was the best, according to my husband and the food, well, let's just say that I don't need to eat again for days! We loved every aspect of our stay, except that it was too short : ( Denny and Jan are perfect hosts and created a most perfect experience for our 30th wedding anniversary!

Our second stay but in a different room during a different season. Jan & Denny continue to exceed all expectations. Our room was spotless and comfortable with a great lake view. Dinners and breakfasts were gourmet. Fishing in their 7 acre lake brought in a variety of sizable fish. We already have a spring reservation to return.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Mission Oak in in Henry Illinois recently. To say my stay was a pleasure is such an understatement! The inn itself was absolutely gorgeous, with a lot of handcrafted work very evident throughout the building. The grounds were immaculent and beautifully landscaped. The location was a delight as well, quiet with only the sounds of the birds and cicadas to break the silence. I liked that a lot. Denny and Jan were wonderful hosts, giving us the right amount of attention, without being "underfoot." The breakfast Denny prepared was something I would expect from a professional chef, with the food as attractive as it was tasty. As I am also "into" the outdoors, I liked the seven acre fishing pond. My cameraman and my guest on the trip enjoyed catching largemouth bass from shore, catching some quality fish. If you stay there, ask Denny or Jan to feed the catfish, you'll be amazed at what happens! If you're going to be anywhere near Henry Illinois, you really should treat yourself to a stay at Mission Oak Inn, you'll be glad you did. Steve Huber Producer/Host OutdoorFrontiersTV

We just returned from 2 glorious nights at the Mission Oak Inn, literally, in the middle of corn and soybean fields in Central IL. Jan and Denny's home is warm, comfortable and beautifully furnished with woodwork created by Denny. He's also the chef, an award-winning, self-taught chef with extraordinary culinary talents. You'll want to be at the Inn by 9:00 pm so that you don't miss one of his scrumptious desserts. Their lake is stocked with lots of fish which Denny cleaned for us. The land around the lake and their home attracts a multitude of bird-life from hummingbirds to herons! The sunset over the lake was breath-taking and so serene. Both Jan and Denny are the most gracious hosts we've experienced at a B&B! I didn't want to come home I was so relaxed.

An absolutely wonderful place for a getaway that is private and secluded. The innkeepers are fabulous and the food is beyond description. This is our third stay at the inn and we will continue to return on a regular basis. Unsurpassed in every detail.

First of all, Denny & Jan are the ultimate in service professionals. Adding to that the incredible product they have developed is hard to fairly describe. We stayed in the Bird Lovers room. The room was modern with a touch of elegance and beautifully capped off with Denny's awesome personal "mission style" woodworking and Jan's flair for decorating. The see through fireplace and jacuzzi are a nice romantic touch. Their breakfast is actually an "experience". A delicious omlet and the best smothered in blueberries stuffed french toast you could ever imagine. I don't really want to say this but they have a 7 acre pond that wraps around their B&B. Not only is it pleasing to the eyes, but it also holds large mouth bass that average 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 lbs [with some 6 to 8 lb'ers that have been caught & released]. They have a boat w/trolling motor available for use and fishing the dock area, even for me ,produced a 4 1/2 lb large mouth. I could go on and on, but until you experience this remarkable place for yourself, you will not know what you are definitely missing. Thanks Denny and Jan for a wonderful getaway......

My husband and I stayed at the Mission Oak Inn for a weekend. It was the most relaxing and enjoyable experience we have ever had. We are a young, newly married couple and were not sure what to expect. We were welcomed with open arms and treated like family from the moment we walked in the door. The rooms were wonderful with all the amenities you could ask for. The room was clean and looked incredible. They are designed with romantic weekends in mind. We found ourselves enjoying the fireplace, mood lighting, and in-room whirlpool. One of the most enjoyable parts of our stay was the amazing food. We weren't sure what to expect for breakfast but were happily surprised to be served elaborate home cooked meals. We also had the pleasure of eating a dinner there one night. All I can say is that I never went hungry and didn't want to stop eating! They also give you home made dessert each night that you are there. Overall, definitely worth the price. In my mind it was a steal.

We had a great time visiting with them and above all we got to taste Danny's great cooking. We had an exceptional restful weekend of our lives.

We wanted a peaceful getaway, where we could do absolutely nothing at all. This was perfect. Taking a stroll around the lake with a picnic lunch on the dock. Having a lazy afternoon of sitting on the porch overlooking the lake and flipping through a magazine was the no stress getaway we were looking for. And the food!!!! It was so good, delicious couldn't describe it enough. It was fantastic and there was plenty of it. The whole package was simply wonderful. We will definitely come back and tell all our friends to go as well.

We stayed at this Inn on our way home from a two week trip through Michigan, and what a way to end. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner when we arrived, a totally relaxing and peaceful evening on the deck and rose the next morning to an even more fabulous breakfast. Denny and Jan are wonderful hosts. There is nothing I could recommend they do differently to make your stay more enjoyable.

If I were building the perfect bed and breakfast, I would build Mission Oak Inn. The surroundings (inside and out) were delightful and comfortable. The food was delicious and artfully served. The hospitality made us feel like good friends.

My wife and I stayed for a night in late July. I had never stayed at a B&B, and I have to say that our stay at Mission Oak Inn has set the bar extremely high for all future B&B's. Dennis and Jan are pleasant people who make you feel extremely welcome from the moment you walk in the door. Speaking of which, the moment you walk in, you realize how nice the Inn really is - it's a richly appointed home with many amenities and a breath-taking kitchen which overlooks a 7 acre lake. The meals were incredible - Dennis is a fantastic cook. The room itself is also quite impressive - we felt like kings! We highly recommend the Mission Oak Inn with enthusiasm!

We loved it! It was less than an hour drive but felt like we had entered a different world. The hectic life was left behind--Mission Oak Inn was sooo calm and relaxing. The gourmet meals were wonderful!! We loved the rooms, too. Denny and Jan's hospitality was warm and appreciated. Their attention to details was amazing!

We have stayed in many B & Bs over the years, and we can honestly say that NONE have compared in the consistant level of quality that we experienced at Mission Oak Inn. The food, hospitality and service were top notch!

We were lucky enough to see an early review of Mission Oak Inn in the Journal Star and we knew it was the perfect place for our honeymoon. The meals were out of this world, the innkeepers Denny and Jan were so charming, and we loved the entire mood of the inn. We enjoyed ourselves so much we bought a gift certificate as a thank you to our pastor for marrying us!

This was my husband and my first experience at a bed and breakfast. There was a natural beauty in the place, both outside and in. There was a lot of wildlife to enjoy (hummingbirds, deer, baby cyotees, etc.) and, we were able to walk around thier lake or take a canoe or paddle boat out onto the water. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Denny had done a lot of woodworking inside the house that gave it a very charming and comfortable feel. The food was incredible! We felt like we were eating Gourmet meals. I would highly recommed dinning there as opposed to going out for dinner. Denny and Jan are delightful people and have a gift for hospitality. The room that we stayed in was the Lodge suite. It was a beautiful room that was very comfortable and clean. (you can't use the fireplace in the summer (because of the heat it generates), but there are lights inside it that still give a cozy feel. Denny was willing to make a fire outside so that we were still able to enjoy a fire if we wanted. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, quiet and beautiful place to stay.

We picked this spot to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. It was the BEST B&B that we have ever stayed in...for both accomodations and the absolutely fantastic food. Denny and Jan certainly know how to treat their guests. It doesn't get any better than this :)

We absolutely LOVED staying at Mission Oak Inn. It was the most peaceful B&B we've ever been to, and offered wonderful food. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and QUIET. We never heard another soul. Denny and Jan were so eager to please, and we simply can't wait to go back.

Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy a gourmet meal in lovely setting. Denny and Jan are great hosts and provide a great "home away from home".

There couldn't be a more peaceful place than Mission Oak Inn. We come from North Carolina to visit my 94 year old mother at an assisted living home in Henry. The Inn gives us respite and relaxation between visits. The Reeds couldn't be more accommodating to making our stay enjoyable and restful. And, the food is great too!

We recently celebrated our 5th anniversary at Mission Oak Inn. Denny and Jan welcomed us "home" from the moment we first walked in the door. They are far more than your ordinary innkeepers. They welcomed us into their family. The inn was meticulous but it also had a very warm inviting and cozy feel to it. They have such an eye for the details. The Bird Lover's Suite was exquisite, very comfortable. The grounds were very nice, whether you wanted to take a leisurely walk around the lake, sit on the deck, or take out a boat. Denny and Jan joined us for breakfast and dinner and their company was very much welcomed and again, instilled a sense of being part of their family. Denny, chef extraordinaire!!!! We have stayed at many different types of B&Bs, but Mission Oak Inn is far and above the finest around. We look forward to staying with them again in the near future.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay at the Mission Oak Inn. We loved the quiet atmosphere, the exquisite dinner, the restful room, the stuffed french toast breakfast and the delightful hosts! We definitely plan to return.
5 on July 15, 2008
We really can't put in to words how wonderful it was. Even though we were only 20 miles from home, we felt like we were so much further from the hustle and bustle. I would like to tell you every detail but I wouldn't want to spoil the next couples pleasant surprises. We have been told by older friends and family how important it is to get away as a couple every 6 months. If we have it our way we would stay at the Inn every six months!!! Denny and Jan are very passionate about their Bed and Breakfast and it shows in the smallest detail. They make it seem so effortless but I know that they put alot of work into making their guest feel at home. And that we did!

We had no idea what to expect and we're more than surprised. Jan and Dennis Reed were so welcoming, so gracious. My husband is a farmer and doesn't go in for fancy, frilly, out of his comfort zone things. So when I said I wanted a bed & breakfast, he went, reluctantly. The second night we thanked me for this weekend. Mission Oak Inn in Henry, IL is Paradise. I must go. 4 star food & atmosphere.
5 on June 30, 2008
Even after seeing the other reviews our expectations were constantly surpassed. Jan and Denny welcomed us warmly, fed us 5 star meals, and anticipated all our wants at their beautifully crafted inn. We are sure Denny is clairvoyant and can tell exactly where to cast a line to catch a fish in their 7 acre lake. The Reed's have created a Fishermen's Paradise. Besides fishing they have beautiful gardens and a wealth of birds to enjoy. This inn is truly a destination if that is what you want or the Reeds are great at connecting you with area highlights to visit. They have raised our B&B bar and we already have reservations to return there for another weekend getaway.

Tucked away in the country on an early 20th century farm is an elegant Bed and Breakfast. It is nestled on a seven acre lake stocked with fish. We stayed in the Bird Lovers Suite with fabulous views of the lake and numerous feathered friends. The gracious hosts are very welcoming and talented. The woodwork and food was outstanding. It was a memorable vacation.

This is a great place to relax, enjoy watching the wildlife and feel 'at home'. The thought, planning and work that went into making this such a comfortable B&B is evident everywhere you look. We will definately come here again. Denny and Jan are great hosts. Denny, the omelots and crepes were perfect :))

We celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary at Mission Oak Inn recently and loved every minute of our stay. Jan and Denny were most welcoming from the time they first opened the door until we left. And we really didn't want to leave! The Inn is absolutely beautiful showcasing Denny's woodworking talents- truly God given. Our room was sooo relaxing and beautifully appointed. The views were beautiful and my husband enjoyed the fishing! He actually caught fish! The food was outstanding too and praise goes to Chef Denny for that. Jan is so friendly and served us with style. I loved all the Scripture verses around the house- on coasters, above the bed....it's wonderful to be in a place you know is blessed by the Lord and run by a Christian couple. May they be blessed for years to come. Thank you Jan and Denny!

We stayed for one evening and enjoyed every last detail! The drive wasn't far but it felt like we were a million miles away from the "day to day" routine. The room was lovely and the meals to die for! We enjoyed a walk around the lake (a perfect spot to throw a line in the water) and the overall visit was truly romantic. A great memory and highly recommended.

My husband Tim and I just spent 2 nights at the Mission oak Inn and loved it. It was a special get-a-way for us because Tim has been deployed in Iraq for the past 9 months. He is home on his R&R and will be returning shortly to finish out his deployment. We wanted a place where we could celebrate our 1 year anniversary and just be able to enjoy one another for a change. Mission Oak Inn was very relaxing, and we were amazed by the service, friendliness, and overall atmosphere. It is a quiet, cozy place away from home. Its definetly a place we will stay at again.
5 on March 30, 2008
Denny and Jan are spectacular hosts. They are both very friendly and welcoming. Denny does all of the cooking, which is outstanding, and even offers dinners by request. We requested one dinner for our first night and brought food with us for the second night, which we were able to keep in our in-room mini refrigerator. The rooms had private entrances and bathrooms and were very clean and enviting. The two-sided fireplace was also a nice touch and added bonus since we stayed during the winter. The inn also offers a private lake, which is stocked with a variety of fish. Both my boyfriend and I caught fantanstically large fish and had great success. I would definitely recommend this inn to anyone who enjoys the outdoors and peaceful surroundings of the country.

We stayed here for our 10th anniversary and were pampered more than we were on our honeymoon! The innkeepers, Denny and Jan, did not forget a single detail and gave personized hospitality to us. It was a beautiful setting and was the best food we have had in a very long time.

This was our first time at a B&B and will probably be the only B&B we stay at. We really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, and the food was outstanding. The hosts were delightful and made us feel at home in their home. We loved all the little extras in the room, the tea and coffee, the hot chocolate, the microwave popcorn and the cookies. We loved the breakfasts and the desserts were delicious! We are looking forward to a return visit and will definitely have dinner the next time.

My husband and I enjoyed two nights in December for our Anniversary. We drove there in almost blizzard conditions and were greeted by warmth and charm as soon as we arrived. The rooms are VERY clean and cozily decorated with romantic lighting. I loved the stone tile shower with glass door, the high ceilings and the jacuzzi was very cozy situated right next to the fireplace. The views of the lake, fields and surrounding woods out the large dining room windows while we ate breakfast were spectacular. The food was excellent and as much as we could eat and more! Jan and Denny are very friendly and ate dinner with us the first night. Oh, the dinners! Denny does all the cooking and is an excellent cook. My husband and I have stayed at some wonderful Bed and Breakfasts, but this was the nicest time away we've ever had!
5 on January 22, 2008
We planned our stay to celebrate our anniversary. The quiet location and privacy were great. The inn is beautiful and it is amazing that Denny crafted all of the wood furniture and cabinetry. The food was amazing! It was the best breakfast we’d had a t B&B by far!
5 on January 22, 2008
An over-the-top experience, this was truly the best time we've ever had at any B&B or Hotel! We enjoyed our 25th Anniversary very much during our stay. The room is very relaxing, the food is the best and the hosts focus on pampering their guests! An outstanding value. We will be back!

Our stay at Mission Oak Inn was an incredibly comfortable, relaxing, and delicious! Jan and Denny are just the nicest people and most accomodating hosts. The dinner, breakfast, and especially dessert is out of this world amazing! In addition to the food, Denny hand-built all of the wood cabinets and furniture and it's just beautiful. We also LOVED the remote-control fireplace and the whirpool spa tub right in room! Don't pass this place up because it might be a bit of a drive--it's a nice drive and absolutely worth it! It was exactly what we needed to get away from our lives in Chicago for a weekend. I only wish we could have stayed longer, but we'll definitely be going back!

We had a wonderful time at this immaculately kept inn. The accomodations were top notch, the food was 2nd to none, and our hosts were very nice. I would recommend this b&b to anyone for an exceptional experience.

My husband and I visited the Mission Oak Inn recently and had a wonderful experience. The inn is absolutely beautiful, situated beside a pond and many acres of timber. We were definitely able to escape from the worries and stresses of everyday life. The innkleepers were very attentive and the food was outstanding.

Up a winding country road... I found a retreat at Mission Oak Inn, a place to withdraw to rest, enjoy beauty, take a walk, eat delicious food, and be relieved. Everything from the hosts (Denny and Jan) to the rooms, to the grounds (a place to wander around a well-stocked lake) to the service, entices me to return.

This is a new counrty B&B. It is absolutely gorgeous the food presentation was outstanding & delicious!!! I am recommending this to anyone wanting a romantic/quiet getaway.

From the moment we entered the Mission Oak Inn until the hour we left we felt very welcome, both by the host and hostess and by the atmosphere. We have stayed at several B&B's and this, by far was the BEST! We are already spreading the word to anyone who might want to listen that if they want to experience a little taste of heaven, they need to make reservations at the Mission Oak Inn. We have thanked our daughter repeatedly for giving us one of the best presents we have ever received from her, and we are hoping her brother will take the hint for Christmas. Our one and only complaint with our stay is that Denny was way too good at feeding us. We are sure we are both up a few pounds, but it was oh so worth it. We have not experienced such an outstanding breakfast at any five star hotel we have stayed at in the past (including Europe). Thank you Jan and Denny for a truly wonderful weekend. We will definitely be back (if we can get reservations). Ed & Sue DeVries Brimfield, IL

The rooms, feel, and landscape provided an experience that rivals that of staying at the Starve Rock Lodge. The lake offers some of the best bass fishing I have come across in a long time with several ranging two to four pounds caught within a three hour period. I highly recommend staying here during the warmer months so that you can see the flourishing flower beds that attract dozens of butterflies and humming birds. The views from the room were outstanding and the lasagna meal prepared could easily find a home on the Olive Garden menu. Overall it was a perfect weekend, and a much needed break from the stress of planning a wedding with my fiancé. I am sure we will return many times.

Denny and Jan have created the most wonderful "get away" you can imagine! Don't pass this up just because it might be "out of the way" or "out in the country". It is definitely worth the drive and the location is a large part of what makes it so inviting. Once there, you will be totally captivated with the Inn, and best of all the absolute "privacy" of this B&B stay! The rooms are outstanding! For those of you who have not liked the B&B you've stayed at in the past because they lack privacy, this is definitely a different kind of B&B stay and you will have absolute privacy! Best of all, you will be fed gourmet meals fit for a king!
5 on September 04, 2007
God has so richly gifted Jan and Denny. They are the perfect inn keepers and friends! Our Lodge Suite stay was outstanding in every way (welcoming, beautiful, generously accommodating, great gourmet food, bed and bedding fit for a king/queen, etc)! Everyone should "treat" themselves to such a blessed and wonderful experience.

I really don’t know where to begin. Denny and Jan are such wonderful hosts. They make you feel like you are part of their family. The room, what do I start with. The room is spectacular. We stayed in the Bird Lover’s Suite. We were able to enjoy the hummingbirds and so many other birds from our private patio. The whirlpool was large enough for both my husband and I to totally relax in. There was great mood lighting throughout the room. There was a comfortable reclining loveseat to watch TV or lay in a very relaxing bed to end the day. There was a relaxing CD in the CD player, microwave to pop some popcorn in (don’t forget to bring some) and a mini-refrigerator to chill the bottle of wine we brought. Now on to the beautiful woodworking throughout the entire home that was just spectacular. Denny has a talent that is incredible and he is an incredible chef. I truly need a week to take off the cheesecake we ate each evening on the porch. Your breakfast was so delightful. Everything just melts in your mouth. My husband and I have been to 3 other B&B’s before this one and this is the only one that we scheduled a return trip. We just can’t wait to go back to lay by the fire and enjoy the scenic views, smells and sounds of the home away from home that Denny and Jan have carefully and lovingly made for each of their guests. You simply must go to the Mission Oak Inn if you want a very relaxing getaway.
This guest commented to bring your own popcorn but you don't have to because we provide it in the amenities basket.

Mission Oak Inn was the best ever B&B we have ever stayed in! The hosts, Denny and Jan really thought of every last detail to make guest feel welcome, cozy and at home. The suite was comfy with a beautiful view of the lake and finch and hummingbird feeders to enjoy. It was so relaxing and romantic. The whirlpool in the room was awesome and the food, unbeleivable! We had gourmet desserts every night and fabulous breakfast in the morning! It was so spectacular from beginning to end! I am going to recommend this place to everyone I know! Thank you!

This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and now we're hooked! Denny and Jan were two of the nicest, warmest and most genuine people we've ever met. We didn't know what to expect, but everything was better than we imagined. The suite and entire house was super clean, the land and lake was breathtaking and their hospitality was top notch. Denny is an awesome chef! The food alone will keep us coming back. We have recommended Mission Oak Inn to everyone. What a wonderful way to spend our ten year anniversary!

My husband and I were given a weekend as an amazing gift from a friend. Needless to say we reserved our weekend return in 2008 before we left. Denny (innkeeper) is an amazing cook and he did all the wood working on the inn. Architectually this place is so warm and classy. Jan and Denny are very good Christians and that made us feel right at home. The rooms are perfect! I hope they build the cabin they were talking about by the lake. You have to try it!

My fiance and I needed to have a night away from the world so we decided to try Mission Oak Inn.. What a night away from the world it was. From the moment we got there we forgot about everything going on back at home. It was instant relaxation. The fishing was incredible too. And the food.. There isnt anything that could be said to give the food justice. The same goes for Jan and Denny. They are two of the nicest people I have ever had the chance of meeting. Thank you for the amazing stay we can not wait to come back. Kyle & Jillian

In the past ten years, my husband and I have been frequent guests at B & B's in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Ontario. B & B's are the only way to travel. After our recent stay in their Bird Lovers Suite, hosts Jan and Denny and their Mission Oak Inn now top our list of favorites. Just for fun, we booked the special occasion package which includes a special dinner, chocolate truffles, sparkling wine and other goodies. We had a salad, shrimp pasta dish and dessert that were out-of- this- world, as were the breakfasts. The room is beautifully decorated, well planned and extremely comfortable. There are great views of the private lake and the bird feeders which attract hummingbirds, finches, orioles, etc. and a pair of binoculars and a bird identification book on the mantel. Denny and Jan have thought of everything! There is a two person Jacuzzi, a walk-in shower, a microwave, small refrigerator, a two-sided gas fireplace and a reclining couch. Denny made all the beautiful quarter sawn oak furniture and cabinets in the Inn. Although there is much to do in Peoria and the surrounding area, you can't go wrong if you just stay on the Inn grounds and enjoy its many pleasures. Jan and Denny provide boats and fishing gear or you can bring your own. The fully stocked lake is catch and release. There is a dock, hiking trails, balconies and a beautiful natural environment. Jan and Denny are both extremely charming and hospitable. We enjoyed their company and their Inn so much we booked another visit in the fall before we left. And for those of you in the Chicago area, gas is over 50 cents a gallon cheaper and the Inn is only about about 100 miles away.

Our trip was a special celebration getaway, worthy of the special occasion package offered by these inkeepers. We have stayed at numerous B&Bs, and this one is by far the best! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the home is stunning, the food is magnificent, and the hosts treat you like royalty. The proprietors of the antique and gift shops in the small towns about 15 minutes away were every bit as welcoming. Thanks for the great stay! We'll be back.

This B&B is out in the middle of nowhere, which was great. Very relaxing atmosphere. Very nice private lake with great fishing. If you don't like to fish, then just sit on the deck by the water read a book and enjoy the sounds of nature. The food was awesome. It was like eating 5 star food without the stuffiness of a 5 star restaurant. The hosts are great people as well. They are very accomodating and will make sure you enjoy your stay. My wife and I will definitely be back. I highly recommend this B&B if you are looking to get away from the rigors of everyday life.

We have stayed at Mission Oak Inn twice. Jan and Denny are warm, interesting people; the inn is super comfortable and done in great taste (Denny's wordwork is stunning). Best of all, the food is really terrific. There's lots to do nearby, and the location is lovely.
