Very comfortable, clean, and romantic. Hospitable innkeepers and delicious and healthy breakfast.

This was a good place for a weekend getaway. We were able to park the car when we arrived and walk everywhere we wanted to go. The owner shared some favorite restaurants suggestions - we tried a couple and they were great. Ashes the porch cat is cute! Thanks

Beautiful house in a good Galena location - away from the busy part of town but an easy walk across the pedestrian bridge. Room small but nicely set up, good television in room, bed comfortable, bathroom attractive and very clean. Some nice extras, like a pitcher of ice water on arrival, coffee on the landing outside the room in the morning. I have two complaints about things that might not bother everyone but were definitely issues for us. First, the windows in the room could not be opened. The storm windows were in place, and it's obvious that they never take them off. This was a great disappointment to me - to have to use an air conditioner when the weather outside was perfect. Second, there is one time for breakfast: 8:30. No flexibility on that. Sunday morning...8:30 breakfast...have mercy. I recommend calling ahead to check on any details that are important to you.

The home is wonderful, with a lot of neat little bits of history from old books to things on the wall. As history nerds, my wife and I really enjoyed that aspect of the Queen Anne. Mike is a wonderful guy, very interesting, and makes you feel at home right away. The food was wonderful and the room was lovely. I would very much recommend the Queen Anne to anyone staying in Galena. The home itself is just around the corner from downtown Galena.

We stayed in the Lady Ashley room--a bit claustrophobic--but the large jacuzzi tub was nice in the bathroom. Breakfast was delightful. Walking distance to downtown shopping/dining.

This was our first visit at a bed and breakfast it was wonderful it exceeded our expectations! The room we stayed in was The Lady Ashley it was a beautiful room and very clean, the bed was very comfortable. The jacuzzi was big enough for two to sit in comfortably. The breakfast was great I ate foods that I normally wouldn't eat, but Mike made them very delicious! We would defanately stay there again. The walk to downtown was so easy and fast. My only regret was I forgot to buy a cookbook.

My husband and I really enjoyed staying at the Queen Anne House.It is a beautiful home and the owners are super nice.The food was delicious!The day we left we received a special blessing that was typed and rolled up for us to read individually.I thought that was such a nice touch and showed the kindness and love in the owners hearts that they wanted to share with each person who stayed at the B&B.Thank you so much!

First time staying in a B & B and everything was amazing!

From the moment we walked in, we were taken care of. Mike and Anita have a lovely home and are very hospitable. They had a delicious soup and juice at our parlor party and a fabulous breakfast and coffee the next morning. Best breakfast I've had in a while! Conversation was wonderful, and it really made our weekend that much more special! I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there!

My husband took me here for my birthday and we really enjoyed it. The house is big and although it's victorian style, the rooms are up to date with flat panel tvs and all the cabel you could enjoy. The decor is very beautfil, rooms clean, and beds comfy. It's been a few months now since our stay but I think the husband's name is Mike. He was very nice and so helpful giving us suggestions for places to eat. Also, this house is pretty much in walking distance from the heart of the town. And of course, I can't forget to mention breakfast. Soooooo good!!

This was our first stay at a small B&B. What a great experience. The rooms were beautiful and Mike was a fantastic host. Breakfast was amazing and the conversation was warm and sincere. We will probably keep this as our one and only B&B since I don't think any other would compare.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Queen Anne for our mini honeymoon. This was my second stay there. Mike and Anita make you feel at home. The breakfasts are outstanding! If you wan the bed and breakfast experience this is the place to go. Only a few blocks from mains street. You will not be dissappointed.

This was our first bed and breakfast, and we LOVED it!! Although a little awkward at first, we got to know the other guests in the house at breakfast (and the food was AMAZING). Mike was a fabulous host, and Ashes was the greatest greeter. Ashes even made it in our pictures and saw us off the day we left! We can't wait to get back to Galena!!

Some people don't care much about breakfast at a bed and breakfast, but I want amazing and the breakfast at Queen Anne Guest House was truly amazing. And huge. You won't need lunch. Be surprised by what is served. They have unique offerings that are absolutely delicious and will accommodate dietary restrictions with notice. Continuing with food, they also offer an evening parlor party with drinks and elegant munchies. As well, they provide tea or coffee in the morning well before breakfast. The B&B is quite nicely decorated and very pleasant. It is located in a residential neighborhood a short walk from downtown. It was our first time to Galena, so I didn't know if we should be in the thick of the action downtown or further out. We made the right choice. I didn't find downtown to be quite so charming and endearing as others seem to, so I was glad to be in a quiet area. It's also walking distance to Grant House, another popular attraction that was very interesting.

We were surprised when we arrived at the Queen Anne to see that it was a bit run down on the outside and there was no off street parking available. However, we were greeted by Mike who was very friendly and helped us get our luggage up to our room. He and Anita gave us a great tour of the house and lots of helpful tips on how things work (doors, codes, lights, etc.). Our room was comfortable and clean, and the towels were luxurious. The parlor party was fun and we enjoyed chatting with Mike, Anita and the other guests. We walked to downtown Galena for dinner and felt very safe, even after dark. The coffee and tea available early in the morning was appreciated. The breakfast was very good, and Mike and Anita gave us some helpful suggestions for things to do in the area. They do a few little extra things that add to the charm of the home. We enjoyed our stay!

Mike and Anita were great innkeepers.. Breakfasts were wonderful and the "parlor parties" were a good opportunity to meet other guests. Wine would have been a nice touch at these "parties." Would definitely stay there again.

My sister, myself and a friend came to Galena for the weekend. This was our first trip to a Bed and Breakfast and we were delighted with our experience. Mike & Anita made us feel so very welcome, the food was heavenly and meeting the other guests was a treat. We would definitely do this again.

This was a wonderful house with an owner who really cares about his guests. The breakfast was fantastic and the room with the Jacuzzi was wonderful.

Received helpful information on local and area places to dine, sight see, and get around. Received an appreciated personal history of proprietor that allowed us to establish a relationship worth recalling and enjoying.

Spend the weekend with a friend and found the place very hospitable, cozy and felt just like home. Would like to come back and spend more time during spring or fall. The food and service were excellent! I didn't find any dust and the bathroom and everything in there were superb clean. I am usually reluctant to walk barefoot in a hotel or guest house carpet but I was able to do it in here without worrying.

We have made annual trips to Galena for the past 2 years. The Queen Anne B&B was the best overall B&B yet. Mike and Anita were great hosts, historians and entertaining. We will definitely visit them again.

We had an ABSOLUTELY wonderful stay at the Queen Anne. The owners are so very friendly and their parlor parties are a great time to talk about the fun things some of the other guests are doing around town. Did I mention how delicious the desert and wine are that they serve at them?! The rooms were a bit smaller than I expected - but definitely adorable and worth the price. Food was fantastic, and they were extremely accommodating with picky eaters (me!). Location was prime - off the main strip which can get very noisy with locals after hours... this was within walking distance and very close to the bridge which takes you right to downtown. As of extra ammenities - they had plenty! Movies to borrow, Kareoke to play, patios to sit and drink in the evening. And the Cat - sweetheart! We'll definitely be heading back to Galena again and will be staying at the Queen Anne!

The house was decorated in the Victorian style. The couple who runs it were wonderful hosts and we are grateful they welcomed us into their home. Downtown Galena is within easy walking distance - just down the hill and over the pedestrian bridge. No downtown parking issues!

Memorable anniversary My wife and I celebrated our 31st anniversary with a stay at the Queen Ann Guest House in Galena. Mike and Anita welcomed us with open arms into their beautiful home. The little things are sometimes the hardest to do but Mike never failed in making the entire weekend very special. The breakfast each day we were there was superb. The talk around the table was light and each of the four couples opened up about themselves. The reputation and reviews of the Queen Ann left me with high expectations that were exceeded once we arrived. Thank you to both Mike and Anita for making our weekend so special.

The house is located within walking distance of the town and Grant Park. Mike and Anita, the owners, are two great hosts who make you feel right at home. This charming home is within walking distance of most Galena attractions. The breakfast is outstanding. The huevos rancheros we enjoyed Saturday morning kept us full until 3 pm! Their 5 pm snacks in the parlor are also a delight, and provide a nice time to meet other guests and learn more about the house and the surrounding area. We would definitely stay here again.

I surprised my wife with this overnight stay for our nineteenth wedding anniversary. We will remember our stay for a long time. Our lives and jobs had been getting more and more stressful and our marriage was taking the hit. Just one night at the Queen Anne got us back on the right track. It was very relaxing to get away from it all. The house was beautiful and fully decorated with antique furnishings. We stayed in the Prince George room and my wife slept for over an hour in the original claw foot tub. It was a great experience. The best part of the stay was the interesting conversations we had with both the innkeepers and the other guests. There was a reception from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the parlor with a snack and drinks served. We had very interesting conversations. Breakfast (including the food) was a little formal for my taste, but it was very good. I would have been just as happy with pancakes and sausage. Of course, if you like fine dining for breakfast then you will love this breakfast. Again, the breakfast conversation was the best part.

The host/hostess were very friendly and great hosts. From the greeting on our arrival, to the afternoon "snack and conversation hour" to the wonderful breakfasts that started each day, Mike and Anita made their guests feel welcome and comfortable.

Mike is a gracious host and the Queen Anne was a very pleasant place to stay. The only problem was that the windows are shut with storm windows and one has to sleep with the air conditioning on - which is noisy and one would not expect it at a B7B

My wife and I recently stayed at the Queen Anne for the second time in two years. It is a delightful place that combines the best 19th century charm with modern amenities. The breakfasts are fabulous. The owners (Mike and Anita) and their "employee of the year for 2010", Ashes the cat who lives on their porch, treat you like family. It is clearly a labor of love, not just a business. It feels like home, only better!

Great location. Rooms a bit smaller than anticipated. No real property, just the house. Little garden was not cleaned up. Friendly people. While not a bad experience, would most likely try another B&B on next visit, though returning would not be a bad thing.

On the second morning we were served lentils with spinach and eggs. This brave offering was a very pleasant surprise. We were inpressed! Our hosts were very friendly and personable. The house is interesting and historic. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return if we should ever be in the area again.

The owners are very welcoming and thorough showing and explaining all about their absolutely beautiful home. Being honest though, if you're going in the nice weather you can walk across the river, but colder months, I may have picked a closer stay to their main street. While the food was superb, I have to watch my blood sugar and the breakfast was too sugary (but delicious the few bites I enjoyed). They push their cookbook a bit too much, almost began to feel uncomfortable at breakfast. Overall, the stay will be exactly as you'd expect in a nice B & B.

I truly had such a special stay at Queen Anne Guest House. My fiance planned such a romantic trip to Galena (a place I had never been). The city itself is extremely charming, but pulling up to this Victorian style home, it was a delightful surprise. We were greeted with the cutest neighborhood cat Ashes, then a smiling gentleman Mike! Mike showed us the in's and outs of our room then the rest of the home. He was very helpful and had a warmth about him, that made our stay very comfortable. We stayed in the Lady Ashley suite which was gorgeous, had a hot tub with a fireplace in the bathroom and it was very romantic. Each morning we sat around a table enjoying unique, carefully thought out dishes and each evening we enjoyed a special treat with beverages. It was a great time to bond with the inn keepers and other guests. We weren't from the area so Mike and Anita were especially helpful recommending places to go and restaurants to have dinner. One night the weather was a bit miserable, so my fiance and I took advantage of their extensive movie and game selections. It is strange for me to say fiance, but the weekend we stayed at Queen Anne Guest House, not sure if it was the mood of the Bed and Breakfast, but my boyfriend proposed to me. This place certainly sets a tone and I can honestly say it was the best weekend ever and we will be coming back!

I had never been to a bed and breakfast before. This was a very pleasant experience. The host was very attentive to our needs as well as generally helpful. The breakfast was adequate, my wife was not totally pleased, but I enjoyed it. I look forward to visiting this bed and breakfast again in the late spring.

My boyfriend and I chose this inn to celebrate our one year dating anniversay, which was the first of September. Our stay was December 10th. We had to wait to until then because the inn was booked solid. I must say we are both very glad we waited. The owners of this property are fantastic. We felt like family from the time we entered the house until the time we left. The food that was prepared by the owners was amazing, five star!! Our room in my opinion was the best room in the house (Lady Ashley), check out the photos and you can see it. We couldn't have asked for more!

What a great place to stay. Easy access to town and near the park but far enough away from traffic & noise. The little amenities, like the 5pm parlor get together & the tea cart at night & the AM are a real nice touch. The knowledge of the building & area that the owners have is really nice to listen to. Would highly recommend staying here.

We enjoyed our stay at the Queen Anne. The food and innkeepers were amazing. Our only issue was that the windows in the room did not open, so we had to continuously run the window unit air conditioning, and the mattress was a little softer than we would have liked. Other than that, just perfect.

This was an ok place to stay. I think I was charged more than what I should have been for the day of the week that I stayed. Online stated Sun rate was cheaper but I was charged for the other day rates. No shower in our room only the jacuzzi tub.

Our stay at the Queen Anne was beyond our expectations. Mike and Anita really know how to make their guests feel at home at the Queen Anne. We will be back for sure.

The innkeepers of the Queen Anne run a great establishment! The breakfast is wonderful and the service is great. We had a nice and relaxing time and enjoyed the breakfast and parlor party company quite a bit. If you need a trip to recharge your batteries the Queen Anne is the way to go!

Mike and Anita maintain this outstanding Victorian painted lady. This was our first B&B experience and they set the bar extremely high. There are many in this area, but my wife and I don't even care to try another after our visit. As one can tell from the pictures, the house is beautiful; amazing breakfasts; and the 'palor party' in the afternoon was a great way to meet with other guests. Mike and Anita are the sweetest people you could hope to meet--we shared many laughs and stories together. It was like visiting distant relatives. All this said, the town of Galena is spectacular in itself. There are tons of things to do here for every sort of person. We recommend the Queen Anne Guest House to anyone who appreciates history, Victorian elegance, and warm generous hosts. We will be comming back soon.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. This was our first B&B experience. We had a fabulous time and I am sure that this B&B would make the others a disappointment. MIke and Anita were very polite. The parlor parties were a great oppurtunity to learn about the home and the area. The food was AMAZING as well as the coffee. Everything was so cozy and beautiful. We can't wait to come back again.

My wife and I enjoyed our relaxing stay at Queen Anne Guest House. The evening wine and pie was a great treat, breakfast was just out of this world, and spending time talking with the owners was a blessing. Oh, purchase their cookbook since it contains great recipe ideas.

Our stay at the Queen Anne in Galena was perfect. The friendly greeting, the fabulous location, the extremely comfortable accommodations, whirlpool tub and fireplace, flatscreen TV and wireless internet, the delectable breakfast all made for an unforgettable getaway!

We were greeted at the door by our host and personally walked through the house, breakfast time, etc. A pitcher of fresh ice water was brought in for us. A tray of hot drinks in the hallway at night and in the morning were supplied for guests as well. Parlor party at 5:00 was a great opportunity to meet the other guests and talk with Mike and Anita, as well as get great information on Galena. The bed was the most comfortable we've slept in and the breakfast was higher than outstanding! The hosts joined us for wonderful conversation and the stories were wonderful. Our visit to Galena for our anniversary included our first ever stay at a bed and breakfast. The Queen Anne Guest House has set the bar extremely high with their superb service and wonderful accommodations.

A claw foot tub, lace curtains, leisurely breakfast with gracious hosts and interesting guests gave the illusion of another place and time. Lovely place to stay.

We spent our 25th wedding anniversary at the Queen Ann Guest House. It was the first time we had stayed at a bed-and-breakfast, and it was a wonderful experience. The home and our room were beautiful, the food was absolutely delicious, and our hosts were wonderful. The Queen Ann is within walking distance of downtown Galena, but far enough away to provide us with peace and quiet when we wanted to relax. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly consider the Queen Ann the next time we visit Galena.

Miek and Anita were a very nice couple. They were very knowledgable about the area and provided tips of good places to go and things to do.

We had a great time in Galena and felt The Queen Anne our home away from home. Anita and Mike were so friendly and we wish we had booked more than one night. We were able to walk to downtown and loved the walk around the safe and charming neighborhood. The breakfast was fabulous and the tea cart outside our door in the morning was an extra plus. We had fresh coffee or tea before our day began. We will be back.

The Victorian mansion and interior Victorian furniture and decor made us very comfortable. The home was ours to enjoy, including parlor and library. The food was amazing. Mike was very enjoyable to talk to.

My husband took me here for our first anniversary, it was our first stay with Mike and Anita, however it will not be our last. The home is beautiful, Mike and Anita are terrific, the food is excellent, and Galena is beautiful. We cannot say enough. If you are looking to stay in a Bed & Breakfast, we highly recommend the Queen Anne!!!!!

My wife and I had a perfect 1st anniversary celebration staying at the Queen Anne Guest House. Mike & Anita's welcoming hospitality and great conversations were complimentary to the exquisite Victorian house that's within walking distance of Main Street shopping (or a 5 minute drive). We really enjoyed the 5pm parlor parties that enabled us to mingle with the other guests and learn about the large historical background Galena had to offer, all courtesy of Mike's strong knowledge and excellent story-telling. Not to be forgotten, the awards Mike has won on his gourmet food are well-deserved! The homeade breakfasts and parlor party snacks with wine were absolutely delicious! It's a home away from home, and we will definitely be back to stay with them.

Mike greeted us at the door and helped carry our backout too. His parlor party snacks and multi-course breakfast were delicious! With advance notice he was happy to meet my dietary restrictions. The house is very convenient to main street and Mike was willing to provide guidance on attractions and dining options. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend the Queen Anne Guest House to my friends.

My daughter & I stayed at the Queen Anne Guest House for our first mother-daughter get-away, which was also my first stay at a B & B. Anita and Mike were wonderful hosts and we felt completely comfortable in their beautiful Victorian home. The evening "parlor party" was a great time for the guests to meet each other and visit in a relaxed environment. The appetizers served during the parlor parties were delicious - including Mike's award-winning chili made with Galena-brewed beer! The breakfasts were beautifully presented and amazingly delicious! This couple is truly devoted to providing a memorable stay at their beautiful Queen Anne Guest House! I definitely will return to this home, and next time, I'm bringing my husband so he can enjoy the experience!

This place is what should be expected from a bed and breakfast. I have never had breakfast so great, and the owners were wonderful. I would go again.

We had a wonderful time on our first girls getaway, and we will definitely come back again. The hospitality was warm and inviting, and the food was unbelievable! The parlor parties were great times to socialize. The rooms were comfy, and had amazing decor that was absolutely beautiful. We had a great experience that we will never forget :-)

The owners, Mike and Anita, are very hospitable, courteous, and friendly. The rooms are quite comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious. The parlor “parties” at 5:00 are a fun way to meet the owners and other guests, as well as get information about the area. The B&B is located well- near Grant’s home and in comfortable walking distance to downtown Galena. Would stay here again and recommend it to others.

We were passing through Galena and stayed at the Queen Anne Guest house and were very satisfied with the rooms and the service. We didn't get to meet Anita, but Mike was a charming, entertaining host and the breakfast and conversation exceeded our expectaions. Would absolutely stay there again!

This was our 2nd bed and breakfast stay in Galena. Nice experience, the innkeepers are very accommodating. Bathrooms are nice. Enjoyed the large dining room with nice furniture.

Our children got us a Christmas present of a 2 night stay at the Queen Anne Guest House in Galena. The home was just beautiful. The owners were just fantastic. I definitely was treated like a Queen.

My husband and I had such a great appetizer with our host, as well as a lovely breakfast with both owners on Christmas Eve morning (my birthday). We had such nice extended conversations.

We enjoyed our stay at this old, historic, victorian mansion. The host and hostess were very friendly and accomadating. The morning breakfasts were excellent (and unique). We would recommend this inn to anyone.

I came with my sister for a girl's birthday weekend celebration. I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things about our stay at the Queen Anne! From the second we checked in, Mike immediately made us feel welcome, and there were many thoughtful touches throughout our stay. We loved the parlor party-we enjoyed our conversation with Mike so much- who is a gracious, interesting host- that the party "hour" turned into closer to 2 hours! (We loved his stories of local history.) The home is exquisitely appointed. The rooms are extremely inviting, and this is the first time I have stayed in a "hotel" bed where I woke up the next day and my cantankerous back felt better than it did sleeping in my own bed! The clawfoot bathtub was beautiful, and the room felt very private! (Plus, the added modern touch of satellite tv in-room is something hard to find at many hotels!) We spent the evening eating at one of the 2 EXCELLENT restaurants Mike recommended in the area. After coming home, we sat outside on the relaxing porch and played cards, and also met Anita, who is truly a delightful woman! (And checked email via wireless internet- another nice modern touch!) But the highlight was the next morning- I have been fortunate enough to be able to travel in my lifetime, and NEVER have I had a more gourmet or delicious breakfast while travelling! Mike could compete in "Top Chef- Breakfast Edition" and win, HANDS DOWN! :-) The food was unique, delicious, pleasing to the eye- and he and Anita's warm service and conversation during breakfast made us feel very pampered! (Oh, and the early morning coffee/tea carts were a great touch.) I cannot say enough about our experience at the Queen Anne- we would have added a 3rd night, we loved it so much, but they were booked! I guess we'll have to figure out another reason to have a girls' weekend back VERY SOON! I never want to stay at another "regular hotel" again... Thanks Mike and Anita for a truly memorable stay!

The Queen Anne is the BEST get away to rejuvinate, and reconnect oneself or with a significant other. Pampering is there at the Inn in every way from the rooms, Parlor Party, breakfasts so sublime, and caring from the Innkeepers. Galena also is special and area surrounding adds to the total package. MiKe & Anita are special innkeepers...none to compare!!!
