The Park Avenue Guest House is all you could want in a charming Victorian setting. The public rooms were inviting and very homey. The guest rooms were just right with private baths and really fine linens! Our hostess, Sharon was a delight. Staying at the Park Avenue guest house is staying in a lovely private home with a fun relative as your hostess. This place is perfect for those that want the feel of a fine private home as opposed to a hotel like setting. I would certainly recommend it. The prices for the rooms were very reasonable. Oh, and I forgot to mention, that the LOCATION was terrific for walking all around the town. We didn't use the car at all! A great experience and we will go back!

    Awesome weekend getaway!

The Park Avenue Guest House was a very private and yet delightful to stay at. We loved the suite, it was very charming. Sharon the caretaker was charismatic, welcoming and she was a notable story teller. The breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Our trip was a short 2-night getaway and our first time to Galena, IL. We enjoyed it so much and would definitely visit again. Galena's locals welcome you, and are so delightful people.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at Park Avenue. Sharon is a wonderful hostess, and the breakfasts she made were spectacular. The house is beautiful. I particularly loved the screened-in porch; it's a great place for reading on a summer morning. An added bonus was that three of the sweetest kitties on the planet were our friends while we were there (if you're a cat person, this is your Nirvana!). We will definitely be back every time we visit Galena.
