Surrounded by nine peaceful acres, Belle Aire Mansion, is a tranquil home away from home. Built in the mid- 1800's,this Southern style mansion is one of the oldest in the Galena area. Once an old farm house, Belle Aire has been a bed and breakfast inn for 30 years. Your innkeepers, Jan and Lorraine Svec, have been welcoming guests for 27 of those years. Their guests comfort is their biggest concern and they offer experienced personal service, providing rooms with romance and relaxation in mind. Cuddle up in a suite with a warm fireplace opposite a soothing double whirlpool, or choose an antique-filled room just to your liking. Each guest room has a private bath, satellite TV, VCR's, and a jar filled with home-made chocolate chip cookies. Enjoy the magnificent view from one of the verandas or walk the grounds of beautiful trees and flowers. Stroll down a tamarack-lined lane, or just sit on the porch and take in the quietness. Your hosts hope your stay in Galena will be a memorable one and bid you..."Welcome Home....To our home."

This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast. We will certainly do it again. The host was outstanding and the breakfast in the morning was great. The fireplace in the room didn't work, but otherwise the room was very clean and bed was comfortable.
Thank you for the nice review. I wish you would have let me know that your fireplace was not working. They get a bit fussy when they haven't been used for a bit. I would have been glad to get it going for you. I hope that you will come back and see us again. Thanks, again.

Jan and Lorraine made our first B&B stay one to remember!! They were so hospitable, making us feel like family throughout our stay, and really went above and beyond for us!! The food was great, the beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and they were very knowledgable about what was going on in the town!! I highly recommend staying at the Belle Aire to anybody looking for a quiet getaway with great people! Our stay was perfect and we will definitely be back!

Lorraine and Jan are gracious hosts and people. The house is amazing and very cozy. It was my home away from home and I enjoyed staying here and will again soon. The food and company is something I will never forget, one of the best bed and breakfast experiences I have had.

Jan & Lorraine go out of their way to make your visit special with many added extras. While the rooms are more than adequate, the suites are very roomy. Definitely a very good place to stay while visiting Galena.

We've stayed in Galena more that a handful of times and this is by far the best value. Sure it's not right by Main Street, but the gracious hosts offer to give you rides to Main Street and back (as long as the return time is not too late). They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The breakfast was fantastic!

If you're interested in a B&B in Galena, look no further. Lorraine and Jan make you feel like you've just gone back home to visit mom and pop, a true homey comfort is felt when staying there. The rooms are as expected through the pics you can see online. If you're going in the winter time, perhaps ask for an oscillating fan or two, as it can get quite toasty in there. Opening the windows seemed to work just as well. Lorraine and Jan have been in the area for several decades, so they're also quite knowledgeable about the area and its histories, shops, restaurants, etc, and it proved to be helpful. Oh, and I cannot forget to mention the WONDERFUL breakfasts that are served! Mmm mmm! If you have allergies, they will cater to your needs, as well. Lastly, the home is quite beautiful. The specific rooms are all updated enough for today's standards, but the history and beauty of the home as a whole make it such an enjoyable experience. All in all, it was well worth the money we paid and would stay there again.

Jan and Lorraine were two of the friendliest people we have ever met. They made you feel right at home. We could have stayed and talked to Lorraine all day. Very knowledgable about Galena and surrounding areas and activities. You can tell they have a passion for what they do, and we will definitely stay there the next time we head to Galena.

The Belle Aire Mansion was very quiet and restful and the innkeepers, Jan and Lorraine were very personable and helpful. My bride and I stayed here 2 nights at the end of May for our 28th wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Canopy Suite which had a sitting room, private bath, fire place, whirlpool and very comfortable bed. Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the room added a special touch. The breakfast was very good and Lorraine was very willing to accommodate any dietary restrictions we might have had. The Mansion is set far back on the property and is extremely quiet. It is located only a few minutes from downtown Galena. It was our first time to Galena area and it was like we had a personal assistant helping us make the most of every minute there. This B & B became an integral part of the whole Galena experience not just a sleeping place.
