Situated on a quiet street, surrounded by the grounds Ulysses Grant once used to train his troops, the Aldrich House depicts Galena as it was in the time of grand soirees and celebrations often held in the home for U.S. Grant and Abe Lincoln. This 1845 Greek Revival home has five gracefully appointed guest rooms all with private baths. A screened side porch overlooks the gardens and provides a warm weather haven for those seeking relief from the stresses of city life.

Me and my fiance took a winter 4 day weekend in Galena. We were also scouting places to hold our small wedding in June 2015. The residence was beautiful. The yard looked spacious and with some summer imagination I could see that it would be a beautiful place for a wedding. The walk to downtown Galena was around 3 blocks. I enjoyed staying off the main drag for sleeping. The host were wonderful and helpful. Breakfast was amazing especially the cinnamon bun pancakes.

the walls are thin in this beautiful Victorian home, we were unable to take an afternoon nap for the doorbell ringing frequently, there was no tv in the room, but understandably with the walls so thin. but furnishings lovely, meal outstanding & hospitality top notch

This was our first stay in Galena in the winter, though we've stayed frequently in the summer. As always the Aldrich House is one of the high points of our stay. Fran and Brian do a wonderful job and it feels more like visiting friends. Highly recommend this B&B.

It was not our first time to Galena, but we were very pleased that we chose this B+B. It was a pleasant walk to downtown, the neighborhood was quiet, and the hosts were gracious.
