Our classic Galena Bed and Breakfast has been known for its hospitality since the 1850's entertaining such figures as U.S. Grant and Abe Lincoln. Today, guests gather each morning in the formal dining room, where a full, hot breakfast is served enhanced by candlelight and great conversation. Complimentary refreshments are available 24hrs/day.
Christmas at the inn is a very special time of year. Guest rooms each have their own special tree and the common rooms are all decked out awaiting the big day.

The McClellan room, the original master bedroom, overlooks the gardens and grounds where U.S. Grant once trained his northern troops. Retaining the grandeur of times past, the imposing oak bed is softened by a cloud-like silky canopy. The large corner fireplace creates warmth and majesty. Boasting the largest bath in the home, it includes an original oak pull chain toilet, clawfoot tub, "the best soakers ever made" and brass shower. This room exudes romance, gracefullness and elegance.
Dr. Edward Bench Room: Just what the doctor ordered… a queen size brass bed, oak dressers, and extra single brass bed for third person. Bright and sunny with a park view, large private bath and shower. Minimal extra charge for third person.
J. Russel Jones Room: If you look through the trees, you can see Jones’ masterpiece, the Belvedere Mansion from the windows. This romantic room features a queen size antique white iron bed, walnut dresser, fireplace and private bath with shower.

Situated on a quiet street, surrounded by the grounds Ulysses Grant once used to train his troops, the Aldrich House depicts Galena as it was in the time of grand soirees and celebrations often held in the home for U.S. Grant and Abe Lincoln. This 1845 Greek Revival home has five gracefully appointed guest rooms all with private baths. A screened side porch overlooks the gardens and provides a warm weather haven for those seeking relief from the stresses of city life.

Brian and Fran felt like one of the family. The House is beautiful, warm and comforting. The breakfasts were outstanding. I will stay there as long as I can climb the stairs to the beautifully appointed rooms.

I was there for a girls weekend with my two sister-in-laws. The accommodations were great and the innkeepers were extremely friendly and helpful regarding things to do around town. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit them again in the future.

We stayed at Aldrich House for our first anniversary. We were very impressed with the room, our hosts, and the house itself. The room was cozy, clean, and well tended. Fran and Brian were available to answer any questions, give suggestions, or even make dinner reservations. The house was welcoming and filled with antiques and the grounds were gorgeous! It's also close to main street, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. The breakfast table was large and the conversation was great. It was like sitting down to a meal with old friends or family- even though we had just met. The food was fantastic and if you have dietary restrictions, they are more than accommodating. Aldrich House is a relaxing, beautiful, and highly recommended place to enjoy Galena.

Our weekend at the Aldrich Home was outstanding in every respect. The house is spectacular, very well kept, the food outstanding. We would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to stay during their stay in Galena. The Innkeepers were most gracious and helpful.
