Michigan Avenue shopping (the Magnificent Mile), we are just two blocks from the Old Town commercial hub on Wells Street, a short walk to two dozen fine restaurants and entertainment venues, a large supermarket, a 24-hour Walgreen’s Pharmacy, a 24 hour X-Sport Fitness center and the only 24-hour Starbucks in Chicago.

Old Town Chicago is the southeast quadrant of the Lincoln Park neighborhood, far closer in distance and travel time to Chicago attractions than any other location in Lincoln Park.

    1442 N. North Park Avenue is a north/south street, 300 west on the Chicago grid, between Orleans and Wells Streets. Cross streets are North Avenue, IL Rt. 64, on the north (1600n) and Schiller Street on the south (1400n).

    By auto, from US 90/94, exit at North Avenue, #48B, turn right if coming from the south or left if coming from the north. Travel 1.5 miles east on North Avenue to N. North Park Aveune. Turn right going south to #1442.

    From Lake Shore Drive, IL 41, exit at LaSalle Drive/North Ave., follow LaSalle Dr. west to LaSalle Dr. south, one block to North Avenue, turn right, west, onto North Avenue, pass Wells Street and turn turn left at the first opportunity onto N. North Park Avenue to #1442.

    By auto, follow "Directions to Property." Travel time is usually about 30 minutes. By public rapid transit, travel time is about 1 hour from both O'Hare and Midway. From O'Hare, take the Blue Line to the Loop and from Midway, take the Orange Line to the Loop. Exit at the Clark/Lake Street/s stop. Transfer to the Brown Line (or Purple Line) above ground. Take the Brown Line (or Purple Line) north to Sedgwick Street, the third stop out of the Loop. You will pass the Merchandise Mart, then pass Chicago Avenue and then come to Sedgwick. Exit to street level. Turn left, north, to North Avenue, a few doors up the block. Turn right, east, to N. North Park Avenue, the second block east after Sedgwick. Turn right, south, to the B&B at No. 1442. The "front" door is on a red brick path on the north edge of the building. Ring the bell.

    • Check in time is By Arrangement and Check out time is 11:00am - Room
    • Cancellations:
      Deposits for single room bookings are determined nonrefundable as of three weeks prior to arrival date. In the event of a cancellation on or after that date, deposits will be refunded to the extent that rooms can be re-booked less a service charge of one night's stay. For any other cancellation, there is a service charge of 10% of deposit with a $50 per room minimum.

      Mike is a Chicago native, historian, art collector and omnivorous reader with an encyclopedic memory. His family helped settle Chicago in the early 1800's on land bought from Jean Baptiste DuSable, the earliest settler. Dr. Camillo Volini, Mike's grandfather, founded Columbus Hospital on buildings and land donated by the Volinis and brought Mother Cabrini from Italy to work with him. Liz is a semi-retired lawyer from New Jersey, Martha Stewart vintage. Liz is still working on her accent.

This shot faces the study on the left, with parsons table style executive desk, a leather executive chair and University of Chicago captain's chairs, an ideal space for spreading out papers for work sessions. This shot also faces a standard size bedroom, staight ahead. To the right, up the stairs, is the penthouse sitting area with comforable indoor seating and just off the rooftop garden decks.
