Free wireless Internet access is available throughout the property. Our common areas feature relaxing furnishings, a large screen plasma television, and a work area with computer printer and fax. A beautifully landscaped garden is available for your enjoyment. Typical room occupancy is for two persons, but additional guests can be accommodated in certain rooms. Special arrangements can be made for meals or for dinner parties hosted in our first floor space. Our kitchen is stocked with complimentary fresh water, coffee, tea, milk juices and soda. A light continental breakfast of croissant, cereal and fruit is provided each day between 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. A fully equipped office with conference room facilities and a large outdoor garden is located just 4 blocks away and can be reserved for your business meetings. A Note for Guest: All Bed and Breakfast establishments in the City of Chicago are required to have the owner live in the establishment. I stayed in House 5863 while visiting my daughter that lives a few blocks away from the hotel. I had a great experience and would recomend it for anyone. Very clean and confortable.

5863 B & B is the best B & B I've stayed in. Unlike the typical B & B, 5863 was modern, private, nicely decorated, and close to lots of great bars and restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked with food and drink and the rooms were comfortable and clean. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great place to stay in the Edgewater neighborhood.

i think the description for this website is pretty accurate and i found this BnB to be a very pleasant stay, great neighborhood, nice and quiet, liked the contemporary decor and the owner/manager very helpful. coffee will be made when you rise and lots of breakfast items to select from. i personally liked the unobtrusive approach too. i would stay here again.

Cancellations: Reservation Deposit & Cancellation:

All rooms are subject to a 2-night minimum stay for weekend reservations. Single night, week of bookings will be considered based upon availability. All rooms must be reserved in advance and secured by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted). At the time of your reservation, 100% of the cost of your stay (including all applicable taxes) will be billed to your credit card.

All cancellations of reserved rooms are subject to a $50 service charge. Reservations cancelled before 15 days of arrival date shall be refunded at 100% (Less $50 service charge). Reservations canceled within 14 days prior to arrival date shall be charged 50% of the full scheduled stay regardless of the room being re booked. All no shows shall be charged 100% of the scheduled stay. All cancellations within 48 hours of scheduled arrival date shall be considered no shows. All cancellations should be in writing and faxed to House 5863, Inc. (773-856-6201) ATT: CANCELLATIONS. Cancellations by telephone, post or email are effective upon receipt and only upon written cancellation confirmation by House 5863, Inc. Any reservation refunds will be made within 10 days of the end of the scheduled stay. Cancellation fee of $50 will be charged for any cancellation regardless of date or time of cancellation.

There is no refund for early departure.

All rates and reservations are based upon 1-2 person occupancy. Rates are subject to all applicable taxes. Additional guests are welcome in certain rooms, subject to availability, and are billed an additional $30 per night.

The location of this B&B was perfect for my needs. It is close to my family and a safe neighborhood to walk in after a day with my family. It is secure, private, restful, very clean with good pastries, fruit and cereals. Cooking is available but I didn't take advantage of that. The outdoor patio is delightful in the morning sunshine or to sit with a glass of wine at night.

Nice place, quiet and welcoming. Loved the bathroom and the view (room 4). The internet connection could be a little bit faster, but overall I'm very happy that a choose to stay here.

Having stayed at House 5863, we continue to return for the quiet convenience when visiting our daughter. Your owners and operators of the bed and breakfast are often at the residence to find if your stay is meeting your expectations and to answer any questions regarding their home, however, never intrusive or nosey. On street parking has never been a hassle except when street cleaning is scheduled. I'll be returning.
