Free wireless Internet access is available throughout the property. Our common areas feature relaxing furnishings, a large screen plasma television, and a work area with computer printer and fax. A beautifully landscaped garden is available for your enjoyment. Typical room occupancy is for two persons, but additional guests can be accommodated in certain rooms. Special arrangements can be made for meals or for dinner parties hosted in our first floor space. Our kitchen is stocked with complimentary fresh water, coffee, tea, milk juices and soda. A light continental breakfast of croissant, cereal and fruit is provided each day between 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. A fully equipped office with conference room facilities and a large outdoor garden is located just 4 blocks away and can be reserved for your business meetings. Cheetah Gym is located just two blocks from the property and in-room spa treatments (massage, pedicure, manicure and facial) can be arranged at your convenience. ****If you are a guest and have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at info@house5863 or call me at (773) 682-5217. A Note for Guest: All Bed and Breakfast establishments in the City of Chicago are required to have the owner live in the establishment. This is the second time we have stayed at House 5863. Perfect accomodations for a weekend get-away. Fully stocked kitchen available to all guests is exceptional for breakfast & snacks. Friendly and intimate atmosphere rather than a large hotel. I would recommend to anyone coming to Chicago.

Cancellations: Reservation Deposit & Cancellation:

All rooms are subject to a 2-night minimum stay for weekend reservations. Single night, week of bookings will be considered based upon availability. All rooms must be reserved in advance and secured by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted). At the time of your reservation, 100% of the cost of your stay (including all applicable taxes) will be billed to your credit card.

All cancellations of reserved rooms are subject to a $50 service charge. Reservations cancelled before 15 days of arrival date shall be refunded at 100% (Less $50 service charge). Reservations canceled within 14 days prior to arrival date shall be charged 50% of the full scheduled stay regardless of the room being re booked. All no shows shall be charged 100% of the scheduled stay. All cancellations within 48 hours of scheduled arrival date shall be considered no shows. All cancellations should be in writing and faxed to House 5863, Inc. (773-856-6201) ATT: CANCELLATIONS. Cancellations by telephone, post or email are effective upon receipt and only upon written cancellation confirmation by House 5863, Inc. Any reservation refunds will be made within 10 days of the end of the scheduled stay. Cancellation fee of $50 will be charged for any cancellation regardless of date or time of cancellation.

There is no refund for early departure.

All rates and reservations are based upon 1-2 person occupancy. Rates are subject to all applicable taxes. Additional guests are welcome in certain rooms, subject to availability, and are billed an additional $30 per night.

I stayed 12 nights. It was fantastic. Very quiet, very clean, all rooms absolutely charming. The locastion is very central and ideal for use of the cta. Breakfast was good. In case I come again to Chicago, I will stay at no other place.

I stayed here for one night. Loved the set up of the B&B. I appreciated the cleanliness, the modern feel, and the hospitality of the owners. I used to live in the neighborhood a long time ago so I was familiar with the area. Street parking was not a problem for me. Definitely would come back. To the owners: great place! Keep up the good work!

I recently stayed for over a week at House 5863 while visiting nearby family. This was my second time here and I must describe it as a peaceful retreat, warm , friendly, relaxing and comfortable. The kitchen was open to my snacking needs all hours of the day, in addition to the breakfast offerings. The decor well fits the description of modern , hip and urbane. The location is quite convenient to accessing transportation and neighborhood stores with a short walk. The neighborhood is residential with pleasant views from the rooms and common area. And a plus in the warmer weather is the delightful grotto garden courtyard ! I would definitely return for a future visit.
