We were given a one night stay at this B&B as a gift. It's a beautiful, warm and inviting B&B right on the Rock River. The view is terrific. We were in the Bordello Room, which had a very, very comfortable king size bed, a fireplace, private screened porch and entrance, satellite TV, and a huge bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub big enough for two, a shower big enough for two, and it had a small fridge, microwave and coffeepot with coffee and tea and other assorted goodies. The B&B is tastefully decorated and the innkeeper is warm and friendly. The full breakfast was delicious! We would definitely come again.
Thank you for taking the time to review our B&B...And so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay!

My husband and I decided to take a few days and relax after our Valentine's Day wedding. I googled B & B's and was surprised to find one 20 minutes from my home. We had never been to a B & B and didn't know quite what to expect. To our surprise it was one of the best experiences we have ever had. We stayed in the Timber Suite and it was immaculate and beautifully decorated. And who could forget the view of the river out of the 20 foot long window. We saw quite a few eagles also. The hot tub was so inviting on such cold days. Now, let me get to the best part. Patty's gourmet breakfasts. WOW! They are made with such love. She set up a beautiful table with red valentine candles for us. We felt so special. I can't wait to go back again. Although it is not far from home it feels like you are really away on a wonderful trip. Thanks so much Patty for your hospitality, kind words and conversation. We'll be back and next time we are bringing our fishing poles. Keith and Kelly G.

My wife and I decided to try a bed & breakfast for the first time. We were celebrating our birthdays together. Patty was extremely helpful and full of information about the area. We stayed in the Timber Suite and it was AMAZING! Very roomy, full size bathroom, awesome screened porch and hot tub! It was cold out but that's the best time for a hot tub! Breakfast was provided and it was delicious. We had a few courses for each and the food was to die for! On Sunday, Patty & Jim joined us for breakfast and it was great to chat and learn about them and the area. We highly recommend this cozy B&B to anyone out there looking for a great getaway! I was able to see the other rooms as well and they were also beautiful. We also signed up for a couples massage. The therapist comes onsite and right in your room. It was perfect! Located right on the river, we look forward to a summer trip to do a little fishing as well. 5 stars all the way! Can't wait to go back!! Eric & Dana B.
Thank you for your kind review...Welcome to the B&B lodging "crowd"!

My husband and I saw the reviews and thought we would try this bed and breakfast for our little getaway. The room was immaculate, great view of the river, robes for your use, cute little fireplace, hot tub and everything we needed we had. Patty was such a wonderful hostess. All I have to say about breakfast is AWESOME!! Her lasagna quiche and salad with fruit and candied walnuts was soooo delicious! Patty had the table set up sooo cute for my husband and I. The view again while eating was amazing! We were so full we didn't eat anything else the entire day! Patty feeds you well! This was our first time to a bed and breakfast and we will definitely be returning here again!
So happy we were able to leave with positive feelings about B&B lodging...Thank you for taking the time to tell others. It is appreciated! I look forward to seeing you in future.

Came across River House while searching for a last minute getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Lots of previous positive reviews led me to pick River House and the photos on the website led me to choose the Bordello suite (which luckily was available). Perfect pick! The room was wonderful, the breakfasts were outstanding and our hosts Patty & Jim couldn't have been nicer! We will definitely be back!
Thank you for taking the time to help us maintain current up-to-date reviews...And, THANK YOU for your kind comments! Love to see you again!

Everything was top notch here! From communication, to promptness, to cleanliness, to the size of the lodge and rooms, the amount of bathrooms, the delicious breakfast we had, the availability of the innkeeper and her husband, proximity to other activities, and everything in between, we were thrilled. We were a group of 10 guys for a bachelor party weekend, and we are already planning our next guys' trip back here (perhaps with all of our ladies as well). I could not recommend this place any more!

River House reminds me of the home I grew up in on the Rock River. The suite we stayed in had a spectacular view of the river. The Timber Suite that we stayed in had a living area large enough for us to entertain family and friends. The king sized bed was very comfortable. We had a lovely screened in porch with a hot tub. The common areas inside and out were beautiful and comfortable. Patty's breakfasts were the best we ever had anywhere and we have travelled the world from Europe to South Africa. We have stayed at River House twice--both times for a week and we will be back.

I discovered B&B lodging style over 30 years ago and loved it. When I became an empty nester with an big empty house, making it into a bed and breakfast home just seemed the thing-to-do! That was in 1997 and I still love being an innkeeper.
