The stay at Briarwreath was perfect. The location is perfect, and the service was especially impressive, as all our need were anticipated and met with subtle perfection. The quality of the house and the charm of the decor were really just cherries on top of a luxurious and wonderful stay.

I received a 3-night stay at Brierwreath with a best friend as a Christmas gift from my husband. Galena was equal distance from our homes and we met there and had a fantastic time. The bed and breakfast is beautiful, conveniently located to all the shops and historical sites. We never used the cars as we could walk everywhere. Joe, the owner, was so hospitable and informative. From the homemade chocolate chip cookies awaiting us upon arrival in our room to the delicious breakfasts served daily we felt welcomed and pampered. The room was comfortable, quiet, and clean and the bathroom so nice. It was nice to be able come back to Brierwreath after a busy day and relax on the front porch and just visit or read before heading out to dinner. There is not one negative thing I can say about it. I would highly recommend staying there to anyone heading to Galena.
You are both welcome back anytime!!! Thank you for a fabulous review!!! I am looking forward to your return so we can visit some more. Have a great year!

My sister and I were very pleased with the accommodations at Brierwreath. I had never stayed at a bed-and-breakfast before because I was uncomfortable with the idea. Boy was I wrong! It was perfect. Joe was a wonderful innkeeper, knowledgeable and available. We have already referred Brierwreath to our friends. Have no doubt, when in Galena, stay here! You'll find an excellent bed & breakfast and the walk to Main Street is right there!
WOW!!! Thank you for a wonderful review and recommendation. It was a delight meeting you and your sister! I am looking forward to seeing you again, you both were a treat. Have a wonderful summer!

We stayed 3 nights in this wonderful B&B and it was from the first day fantastic! Rooms are very clean (I have a small dust allergy). Joe (the host) was really friendly and made us feel like home. Everything you asked he did with a smile, this is a person who runs his B&B with heart & soul. We had every day a different varied breakfast. (if you wanted a second portion, it was no problem) There were several beverages available at all hours of the day. On our last evening we had a good chat with Joe on the porch; as an European we really enjoyed this.
Some guest stand out in my memory, and you are one of them! What a wonderful and interesting conversation we had on the front porch. I loved learning about your country! Looking forward to one day coming to your homeland to see your beautiful world, and see you both again. Have a great year. Your both always welcome back here. :)

Joe has a great house and was a great host to me and my sisters and mom. We really enjoyed the morning breakfast and conversation. The rooms were so big that the 4 of us could sit and talk and not feel cramped like in a hotel room. This was my first experience with a Bed and Breakfast and I can't wait to do it again.
It was nice having you and your family here. Thank you for the nice review. Have a great summer.

I stayed at the Brierwreath Manor for three days in April. My "room" really consisted of a large bedroom, sitting room and two-section bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was ample: A main entree such as quiche, pancake or french toast was offered, along with fruit and a carbohydrate, if warranted. It was always hot and delicious! The manor's location was one street above Main Street, which was ideal. Everything was close by and convenient for stopping back "home" to drop off packages, etc. I would highly recommend Brierwreath!
Thank you for highly recommending Brierwreath. It was a pleasure having you here for 3 days. Have a great summer!

The Briarwreath Manor B&B was a delightful week-end choice for shopping, dining, and evening entertainment. The B&B is located in convenient proximity to the major attractions in Galena. The large suites are filled with whimsy and tchotchkes, with coffee and tea available early morning before a lovely breakfast.
Location Location Location. You had perfect weather. Off street parking is a big plus. Looking forward to your next visit.

This is a very nice B&B. Off street parking and the closeness to the downtown makes this very desirable. Pleasant and quiet.
