Water Valley Inn

  • Water Valley Inn, a turn of the century farmhouse that is your "home away from home". Located in rural Southern Illinois on 100 acres of farmland. The farmhouse was built in the early 1900's and has been carefully renovated to keep the feel of years past but to include the comforts of today. When you stay with us, you have the whole house to yourself. We are located on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. Giant City State Park is just minutes away. Whether it is wine tasting, golfing, rock climbing, hiking, biking, fishing, antiquing or just a quiet day reading a book, we have something for you.

Water Valley Inn was built in the early 1900's. In 2007 we decided to open the house up to share it's peace and beauty with others that might need time to refresh and regroup. In doing so we carefully renovated the interior leaving it as original as possible but adding current day conveniences. When you enter you will find wood floors throughout, along with the original pocket doors and a safe built into the wall of one of the bedrooms. Whether it is a romantic get-away, reconnection with some old friends, family reunion or just some good ole rest and relaxation you are looking for, I am sure you will find it at Water Valley Inn.

    Innkeeper Information

    Innkeepers Description:

Gregg likes to fish and hunt and has lots of knowledge about cars. Kim likes anything to do with crafts and decorating. If you stay with us more than once, don't expect the furniture to be in the same place. She is also working on her gardening skills. We both like to travel, even though at this point in our lives we get to do very little.

The picture here of outside of the home is deceiving as it is in need of a paint job. That being said, the inside of the home is delightful; accommodations clean and well presented. The food was good and we liked the fact that we had the house to ourselves (8 ladies). The Aldridge's were very friendly and I would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to partake of the wineries since that's about all we did.

This is by far the nicest, most homey place I've ever stayed. Every time I bring new friends, they are in awe of the property. Everything and more is provided for the guests. We absolutely love it here and can't wait to come back!

My mother and I celebrated her birthday at Water Valley and we absolutely loved the inn. The home is a gem to be treasured, the farm grounds a delight to explore and the hospitality of innkeeper, Kim, an experience to savor--especially the bountiful breakfast. We will most definately visit again. Lorri Ruckman

We stayed the first week in August & loved this house! It is a wonderful place to stay. The location is good, the owners are very nice & want to be sure you have everything you need. The house is beautiful-very charming. It is equipped with everything you need & if not, Kim will readily provide it. The breakfasts she brought over were superb! We loved our stay & will definately stay here again!

This bed and breakfast is absolutely wonderful. It is beautifully decorated and the innkeepers Kim and Gregg are so sweet. Kim stocks the house with special toiletries in case you forget anything and she also stocks the fridge with breakfast foods. You can just sense the love and warmth that has been put into this house. It is an exceptional value and they will do whatever they need to make your stay enjoyable!!
