If you understand what you are getting with a B&B vs. a traditional hotel, then this is a great place to stay in Belmont Ave neighborhood. Super friendly service, charming front entrance and lobby, great location, great price. Rooms are (expectedly) small and our bathroom was across the hall which comes with the B&B territory.

The bedroom was clean enough, though the air was stuffy. However, the bathroom and shower had clearly not been cleaned since the last guest's stay. The mattress was extremely soft, too much so for my taste. The service in terms of availability to ask questions and hospitality of the staff was impeccable. The breakfast included a homemade almond/cinnamon bread, which was delicious. The coffee could have been stronger.

The location of Old Chicago Inn is outstanding! It is just a few blocks from Wrigley Field and extremely close to the elevated trains. The neighborhood is wonderful, vibrant, great eateries, shops, etc. The ambience of the common rooms at the Inn are very nice; decorated well. But I can only speak for my room, 3D, which was care worn and not that comfortable. The room was small, as was presented and expected, but shabby with no attention to it. The bathroom had no racks to hang towels, no soap dish nor shelf in the shower and a tiny area to put toilet articles. Minimal to no artwork to give it personality. The sheets were also very old and dingy. In other words, the room needs to be redone to make it more comfortable, with more personality to match the rest of the Inn. The manager, David, was very pleasant and accommodating. He was extremely helpful and I appreciated his assistance. I will come back to the Inn because of it's location and will probably take that room again because of it's private bath.

1/2 block from public transportation. Inn keeper, David, was so helpful...he made our weekend special! Great restaurants walking distance. Very comfortable-felt like home away from home.

The Old Chicago Inn is a charming place to stay in a great location. The rooms are small, yet very clean. The Inn is located near public transportation, so it is simple to travel anywhere in the city. Many good eateries and bars are within walking distance. All in all, the Inn is an affordable place to stay when spending time in Chicago. We would stay here again.

My biggest disappointment is that I was told there was wifi, but then I was told that my room was too far away from the modem for it to work in there. The breakfast was good and the speakeasy was great.

Thank you to David the Old Chicago Inn Innkeeper. Your hospitality, warmth, and cordial attitude made our visit that much more enjoyable. I am already missing our morning coffee chats. The Old Chicago Inn has a quirky vibe that makes it stand out from standard cookie cutter hotel rooms. With period accents throughout, the décor is eclectic, historically interesting and amusing, and with every floor board creek a sense of yesteryear floods one's mind. Perfect location, lovely neighborhood, stellar staff, and sense of place, allow for this property to forever stand out as a must do when visiting the great city of Chicago

I loved staying here! The Inn keeper was super nice and the breakfast was tasty. The rooms are small but they feel roomy enough to breathe.
