Nina's Bed & Breakfast - Chicago

During our four day stay at Nina's, we found it to be an outstanding alternative to a hotel. My wife & I stayed in the Master Suite and were delighted with the size and amenities. Being from Alaska, and having unseasonably warm weather we found the room a little on the toasty side for our comfort, but once Sheila was informed, she took immediate action to rectify it. The attention to detail and their passionate desire to provide a comfortable, relaxed guest experience makes them a 1st class establishment. Nina's will certainly be our "go to" choice in Andersonville.

Comfortable, and a convenient walk into Andersonville. Personal service and care. Lovely amenities, wonderful inn-keepers, and a fabulous dog. We would surely return.

My daughter recommended staying in Andersonville on a recent visit to Chicago to see another part of the city, so I found Nina's on the Andersonville Chamber of Commerce website. Great location to walk to Clark St. shops and restaurants, I was able to park our rental car in the driveway which was a treat! Sheila is an outstanding host - very gracious, welcoming, polite. Rusty the dog is an adorable "house mascot", and Nina is an incredible baker. The breakfasts were delicious - homemade banana blueberry bread, fresh fruit and cheese souffle hot out of the oven on Sunday morning! It was nice to be able to com in and help ourselves to tea at the end of the evening. The master suite was very spacious and comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean - even had cushy robes! Such a pleasant experience!

We enjoyed a long weekend stay at Nina's as an early Christmas present to ourselves. The Master Guest Room was so relaxing with high ceilings, a super comfortable bed, and a huge jetted tub. Sheila was an awesome hostess, never minding our knocks on her door for a refill of our ice bucket or directions on how to use the television. She gave us so many recommendations for restaurants and bars and even printed out directions to the train since some stations were closed during our visit. We loved exploring Andersonville and would love to return to stay at Nina's over our anniversary in June.

I was visiting from CA and found this place at the last minute. What a treat! The house, the room (master), the food, and the owner were fantastic. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Super clean, super comfortable, offstreet parking (yay), cheese souffle (amazing), and Sheila made me feel incredibly welcome - even when my grown son unexpectedly begged to stay with me (he's a local - that's how great of a place it is). She just whipped him up his own souffle and welcomed him to breakfast. I sure hope to be back soon.

We spent 2 nights in the Master Suite. What an amazing room! Beautiful, spacious, comfortable, great jacuzzi! Sheila was a wonderful hostess, providing us with delicious breakfasts every morning (although we weren't there on the days they go all-out on breakfast, what we had was perfect for what we needed!), recommending amazing restaurants to try, and doing all she could to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. She took care of every little detail for us;we felt quite spoiled, and loved every minute! We had a great time exploring Andersonville, and hope to return to it - and Nina's - again soon!

Nina's B&B is close to where my daughter lives and was a convenient stay when we traveled to the area for Thanksgiving this year (2012). The room was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was 'made to order' - we were given the opportunity to select what we'd like. Sheila and Nina were both gracious hostesses. We enjoyed visiting with them. Will definitely stay again!

We recently experienced our first Bed & Breakfast. What a pleasant surprise! We fully intend to return in the future. The service was outstanding and Sheila was so kind and accommodating. Unfortunately, we were unable to take full advantage of the Breakfast part of the Bed & Breakfast. The one breakfast we did have was fit for a king -- really! Everything was so bright and clean. Sheila and Nina obviously pride themselves in keeping their property neat and spotless. Oh! And the bed was so comfortable. Hope to see you again, soon!

We were very happy with our choice. Our room was well-appointed, quiet and comfortable. We appreciated the complimentary water, mints and soft drinks. Breakfast was ample and tasty and ready on time. Our host was friendly and attentive. Only complaint is that we wish we had known in advance our private bath was across the hall. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a really great place. It's convenient, quiet, and very nicely done. Our suite in this lovely older building was perfect. It provided plenty of room and comfort. It's been completely renovated. Like everything in the house, it's done with excellent taste. The physical accommodations are excellent, but the real charm is having such wonderful hostesses - personable, welcoming, and dedicated to the comfort of their guests. They are lovely people. We had a terrific stay and look forward to coming back.

I just stayed at Nina's on a fluke, all of Chicago was booked. I love staying at B & B's when traveling for leisure so didn't hesitate to stay for business. What a pleasant surprise! Nina's was located in the charming section of Andersenville just outside of downtown Chicago in a great neighborhood within walking distance of great shops and restaurants! I will definitely stay again my next trip to Chicago!

I stayed recently for just one night, and Sheila and Nina provided a wonderful experience. The house is lovely, the master suite is beautiful and comfortable, and breakfast in the morning was really nice. Overall I had an extremely relaxing and lovely night away from my family and I would love to stay here again.

Michael and I were visiting our daughter in Chicago and stayed at the conveniently located Nina’s Bed and Breakfast. What a delightful experience. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. I expected to be awake all night from the city noise. To my surprise I fell asleep, waiting to hear something, and awoke in the morning. There were shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. One afternoon we sat on the covered deck in the back of the B&B and played cards. The temperatures rose above 100 degrees, and we were served iced lemon water and little cookies. Nina and Shelia went out of their way to make our stay pleasant, and that it was. I can’t forget to mention the scrumptious Sunday breakfast. Now that we have found a home away from home we will be visiting Chicago more often.

My partner and I are always looking for enjoyable places to stay when on short trips. I came across Nina's Bed & Breakfast on line and we were more than satisfied with the accommodations. The B&B is situated on a quiet tree lined residential street that is a short walk from restaurants and public transportation. Our room was tastefully decorated, immaculate and left us wanting nothing. If you are lucky, Nina will make her" better than Ann Sather's Cinnamon Rolls" (my words, not theirs). Can't wait to return, and upgrade to the suite!

I am so glad I stumbled upon their website when researching places to stay in Chicago! We had an excellent week long stay. Nina and Sheila were gracious, helpful, and accommodating hosts. I had so many questions and Sheila went above and beyond to explain or print off directions for us. The rooms were very quiet and other guests watching television or listening to music could not be heard. Close to buses and the train, we were able to get everywhere we wanted to go with ease. Nina's was the perfect place for our honeymoon after our civil union ceremony. We wanted a place that was 'off the beaten path' and provided some privacy away from vacationing families with children. We wanted a place where we could really be ourselves and show each other affection in public without worrying about our surroundings. After weeks of searching, we chose Nina's. Since we couldn't travel far because of time restrictions, you were the perfect location. We got a chance to play tourist in our own city. Andersonville is a great neighborhood. Friendly, with both Vietnamese and a Swedish influences. There are two "redline" stops within walking distance. I travelled alone and was comfortable walking from the train stop at night. Nina's is comfortable, and Sheila is accommodating. Besides the porch, there is not public space available to guests, except at breakfast. Breakfast in continental (except Sundays), and it's served at a particular time on Sunday. Great place to stay away from downtown but still travel to everything.

My husband and I stayed in the "guest room" and greatly enjoyed the location, comfort, and hospitality of Nina's B & B. The house is kept impeccably clean and Sheila and Nina were great hostesses. We would definitely stay again.

If the homemade cranberry bread is on the menu, don't miss it. Very generous breakfast and spotless accommodations. I stayed two nights in the guest room (vs. the master suite) and it was very comfortable and airy. Even included a stocked mini fridge! I'll keep it on top of my short list of places to stay in Chicago. Loved the Andersonville neighborhood.

My partner and I very much enjoyed our stay in Andersonville. Perfect location and pleasant, relaxed atmosphere helped make the trip. We parked on the street and did not move the car til we left! Easy walk to restaurants, theater, and red line. Highly recommended.

My partner and I found this bed and breakfast in a google search of the area. We couldn't have been happier. We stayed in the master suite and found it to be very clean and comfortable. Felt like we were at home. Breakfast was great, Rusty the dog was adorable, and Sheila and Nina couldn't have been friendlier. We will definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to friends and will stay again!

I visited with my fiancée and was pleased by the accommodations we found. I upgraded from the suite to the master suite since it was available and so very nice. The location was very quiet and well located in Andersonville. We met friends for dinner Saturday night and walked to the restaurant in 15 minutes. Sheila and Nina were there for our breakfast the following morning and provided an excellent meal. We especially enjoyed our conversation with our hostesses. Rusty was a treat as well! We'll keep Nina's bed and breakfast in mind for future visits to Chicago.

We were so happy to stay with Sheila and Nina in our first trip to Andersonville. Sheila is a wonderful hostess and made us feel so welcome and wanted. They had tried to think of everything to make their house, your home away from home. A great place to stay.

We chose this B&B to be close to our son's apartment while visiting Chicago. What a pleasant surprise, to find such a beautiful home! Sheila was so helpful and friendly -- it made our first trip to Chicago a pleasant experience. We will be staying here again, on our next visit to Chicago!

We stayed at Nina's a few months ago and were absolutely thrilled with every aspect of the stay. We never had a problem finding parking nearby on the street, and the neighbourhood is quiet and so cute. The guest room was clean and very nicely decorated, the bed so comfortable, breakfast delicious, and our hosts so warm and friendly. My spouse (we're from Iowa, folks!) and I stumbled on Nina's when looking for a reasonably priced place to stay over a long weekend in Chicago. What a great discovery it turned out to be! We stayed in the guest room, which was very pleasant and well appointed. We loved looking out on the tree-lined street. Nina's is located in a beautiful residential neighborhood that is safe and very close to several excellent restaurants and fun places to shop. It is also close to an L stop so we didn't need to take our car into the city if we didn't want to. Breakfast was good and healthy and guests are provided with bottled water and a couple of snacks. Nina and Sheila are fantastic hosts. They made us feel very welcome in their lovely home. Their dog Rusty may be the cutest dog in the world; he brightened every morning of our stay. What can I say...the stay at this bed & breakfast exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the master suite and LOVED it. The room was very clean, nicely decorated, very comfortable bed and it had just a very relaxing feel. Upon checking in, Sheila was so informative of every detail. Once we got to our room there were snacks waiting for us, with a few waters and pops in the little fridge. Before leaving for our day out and about both Nina and Sheila talked with us and answered so many of our questions when it came to where to go, what to see and where to eat in Andersonville, Boystown and Chicago. We parked our car when we arrived and didn't use it till we left. The L is not a far walk from the residence, which will take you to where you want to go and so easy to use. In the evenings we spent our time right there in Andersonville and we loved it. Downtown is not far from the home and is a nice and easy walk. Very friendly town and what a beautiful neighborhood. Our breakfast both days was so delicious. Nina is an excellent cook and I was sad we only got breakfast, because I bet she makes a great dinner lol. Both ladies are very personable and so nice. I cannot say enough about how nice, comfortable, convenient and clean this bed & breakfast is. We will be back to stay again. Teresa

I was in town for a national conference. Found Nina's to be an exceptional value--only met Shelia (and Rusty) but she was a wealth of information--accommodated my early morning departures with an early breakfast. Great area--hope to go back and book the Master Suite--the guestroom was perfect for my needs.

My stay was for 3 nights - Saturday thru Tuesday. Master Suite. Very nice, clean, & comfortable. Sheila & Nina were very hospitable & welcoming. Sunday brunch was great and Monday & Tuesday's good also. Rusty (the dog) was cute. It's in a good location for public transportation. I like to walk the different neighborhoods & felt comfortable walking this one. The only suggestion I would have is to turn on the porch light at night when there are guests, after dark it's a little hard to see the key hole.

Stayed in the guest room at Nina's for two nights this last weekend. The owners are extremely hospitable from arrival on through our stay! Clean, comfortable, QUIET rooms are hard to come by in Chicago... this was GREAT. 1 Block stroll to the Andersonville shopping district on Clark was a bonus. For all of you baseball fans... a two mile stroll south lands you at the gates of Wrigley field! Would go back in a heartbeat.

We loved our stay and Nina’s B&B. We’ve stayed at many B&B’s throughout the state and this one by far takes the cake. The food was amazing and the hostesses so accommodating and friendly that we felt like we were leaving friends after our stay. We are looking forward to our next stay at Nina’s! !

My husband and I spent a weekend in Chicago this month and were lucky enough to have stayed at Nina's. Both Nina and Silvia were amazing hosts, so nice and welcoming. We stayed in the guest room and while it was small, it was clean and cozy. We did a lot around Chicago so we were really just there to sleep and eat the great breakfast. The B&B is in an awesome neighborhood. Its an easy walk to bars, restaurants and the "L". We will have to try out the Master Suite next time. Thank you!!

We recently stayed at Nina's. In terms of Andersonville, this is a great, diverse location to enjoy in Chicago within walking distance to all the shopping, dining, and nightlife you could want. Plus, it is very close to public transportation to other areas in Chicago. Our stay at Nina's was in their Guest Room. It is a small space but is much more intimate and personal than a hotel room. The house is immaculate and Nina and Sheila are extremely welcoming and accomodating to any requests -- including considering any special dietary requests you have for breakfast. As for breakfast, it was amazing! For our next trip, we are hoping the Master Suite is available so we can enjoy the jacuzzi tub and stretch out a bit. The Guest Suite is perfect, though, for a weekend where you're on-the-go but want a cozy space at the end of a busy day.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Nina's for the weekend, and we had an amazing time there! Nina and Sheila were so hospitable and provided a wonderful place for us to stay while I was in town. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone looking for a friendly, comfortable inn! The rooms are beautiful, the food is terrific, and the overall service is fabulous. I would definitely go again!!

We've stayed at many B&B's, and this one hosted by excellence in hospitality, the food was outstanding, and the comforts exceeded anything we had expected. The convenience to downtown was exceptional, and who would have guessed it's all nesteled in this attractive little neighborhood. Our next vist to Chicago is sure to include a stay at Nina's!

It was a wonderful surprise that exceeded my expectations! A clean warm environment all the comforts of home with an extra treat-sock it to me coffee cake that was to die for! Great warm and friendly hosts!!!

We had a wonderful stay in this very comfortable B&B. I was pleasantly surprised how quiet it is even though it was since it's only a short distance to Clark St. Nicely located near transportation to get around the city and enjoyed Andersonville's shops and restaurants. Great location, wonderful innkeepers who are both friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the city. I also appreciated the nice amenities they provide that I have not seen in any other Bed & Breakfasts that I have stayed in. Highly Recommend it.
