Smithland Bed and Breakfast

The original log cabin was built after WWI, by the Matkin family, who homestead 480 acres. We added on in the seventies and again in 2000. The new addition features four rooms with private baths, hand-peeled logs, solar electricity, and a collection of kerosene lamps. The nearest neighbor is over a mile away. Wildlife are common in the area, especially birds and deer. The rooms are large, each with a bay window view of the Rocky Mountains. The commons area has room to seat 10 people at the breakfast table, or weather permitting, you can eat on the covered porch or deck. There is a sitting area with a bay window and propane fire place. There are two large, roofed porches and a grove of trees with a hammock. You can raid the garden in season.
