The innkeepers, Kip & Cindy, are personable and very knowledgeable about the area. Each breakfast of our 3-day stay was excellent- fresh fruit, homemade jams, tasty biscuits, great entrees. Bear Lake is beautiful and the dinning room is definitely "a room with a view." Don't pass up an opportunity to stay at The Bluebird Inn!

The room we had was lovely. The B&B is well maintained and in a beautiful setting. We did not have breakfast due to our schedule. I rated it outstanding, because I had to rate it, but I feel confident that it would have been outstanding!

The Bluebird inn is one of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed inn. I stayed in the beehive room, which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hostess was extremely accommodating, and there were lots of "extras", snacks, sodas, and the like, that I didn't take advantage of but were impressive nonetheless. The hostess also gave me a $20 gift card to the local restaurant (which was in a country club and very good as well) for no apparent reason except for generosity, for we were celebrating no particular occasion in our stay. I would recommend this place to anyone who would be staying in the area.

We had a great stay at the Bluebird Inn. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The room was wonderful. We were a little concerned that there was no air conditioning with an August stay, but open windows, a ceiling fan and the lake breezes made it really comfortable. And the food for breakfast was out of this world delicious!

Cindy and Kip were terrific hosts and were incredibly accommodating! The shower could use an adjustable head but other than that, everything was super!

Not only is the Bluebird Inn a beautiful place to stay, it is also owned and managed by some people who really care about your stay. We stayed in the Bear Room. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The best thing about the Bluebird is breakfast. It is beautifully prepared and delicious. We were served eggs benedict Bluebird style with fresh fruit and hashbrowns. Thanks, Kip and Cindy, for a really great stay. We will encourage our Mississippi friends to visit.

...we have a family cabin at Fish Haven and when our kids and grandkids join in for a reunion or holiday weekend...it is very crowded...so my husband and I stay at the Bluebird Inn...The Mottas are excellent hosts, friendly, and accommodating. The property is well maintained and the rooms are spotless...Breakfast can't be beat...attention to detail in every way is incorporated in the quality of and selection of food choices...and its artful presentation...and when you arrive, there is a chocolate sampler and homemade cookies in your room...don't pass up this B&B...

Friendly people, fresh cookies and chocolates for us when we arrived, accommodated breakfast so we could get up earlier than the normal breakfast schedule so we could get riding our bikes..tremendous place to stay..right by the Lake ..we smiled as we rode by it again on our bikes. We will come back next year

The 1 night stay at Kip and Cindy's Blue Bird Inn was a wonderful way for us to wrap up our Grand Teton/Yellowstone trip on our way back to Salt Lake City to fly back home. Cindy made us feel very welcome right from the moment that we checked in. The house is very comfortable and well appointed. No TV, but that was just fine with us. We had 3 couples traveling together and stayed in the Anniversary Room, The Beehive Room and the Bear Room. All of us felt that sleeping here that night was the best night's rest we had all week. Rooms were extremely clean and felt like home. Breakfast the next morning was delicious! Cindy made a marvelous breakfast pizza with fresh fruit and homemade biscuits and jam. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. We definitely want to come back.

The Bluebird Inn has beautiful grounds and is set on a hill across from Bear Lake. The views are fantastic, and we felt so relaxed staying there. Breakfast was amazing, and the owners are very friendly and attentive. We happen to be there during apple season so were able to enjoy the delicious fresh-picked fruit from the trees in the yard. Thank you!

This is the best B&B we've ever stayed at. The grounds are incredibly landscaped, the completely renovated farmhouse is cozy and inviting, and our room, the Anniversary Room, which had spectacular views of Bear Lake, was immaculate. The owners were friendly and fun to talk to, and the breakfast was wonderful. Can't think of a better place to stay.

The place was awesome and the view out our window was more than we hoped for with the lighting storm over the distant hills. The Hosts were terrific and the food was excellent not to mention you didn't walk away hungry. Anyone looking for something a little bit different than you typical hotel experience must try the Blue Bird INN at least once. They even give you home made goodies right in your room!

This was our first time to visit this part of Idaho. We found the Bluebird Inn online and we can not say enough about the wonderful time we had at the Inn. The decor was beautiful, bed oh so comfy, food and homemade cookies delicious and the grounds and view of the Bear Lake so beautiful. This Inn is a great place to enjoy the quietness and a perfect place for some R & R. We would rate this Inn as top notched at 5 star or more.

We had the opportunity to stay here at the Bluebird a couple years ago for a wedding. Our first sight was a beautiful home on a hill over looking beautiful Bear Lake. Little did we know that the views were going to be spectacular from the front porch! Bluebird Inn's landscaping is peaceful with fountains and flowers everywhere. Sitting on the porch or the patio either in the morning or in the evening will bring wonderful views of the grounds. The home itself has a rustic homey feel to it that comes with a great history! If you stay, you have to take the time to look at the pictures of its growth and read the story of its owners. The beds are comfortable with themes for each room. You'll find the rooms and house are well kept and CLEAN. The floors do kreek with the age of the house so if that bothers you, get a room on the upper floor. The breakfast is by far my FAVORITE part of the experience! I LOVE Cindy's breakfast and the way she and her family serves it! Food is normally not a big deal to me, but after staying a couple times now, I'm going for the food next time!
5 on July 12, 2013
We booked the B & B for the whole weekend and had the rehearsal dinner and the wedding the following day here. We were able to accommodate all the bridal party and many family members. Cindy and her family were extremely helpful with all the details. I'd say they went above and beyond to make our daughters wedding the wonderful day it was. I highly recommend having a wedding or just a get away at the Blue Bird Inn. The location is perfect, it's peaceful and the rooms are fantastic as is the wonderful breakfast they serve. Thanks to all the Motta's, Cindy, Kip, Nicole and Jan. We hope to come back again. Cherie Jones

We stayed at The Bluebird Inn on our way to Yellowstone and simply loved our experience there, from the quaint room to the expertly landscaped grounds, scenic view, hospitality, and a great breakfast. We even made arrangements to stay at Bluebird again when we were disappointed by a dude ranch on our way back from the Park. It was like coming “home.” I highly recommend it for couples, young and old (we’re in our 60’s).

We stayed in the honeymoon suite as it was the only room available and it was GREAT! So much room and so clean! The views were outstanding. The service was exceptional and the breakfast the next morning was terrific! Thank you Bluebird!!!

Simply put, the Bluebird Inn is the ultimate in a Bed & Breakfast stay. The beautiful Inn itself along with its exquisitely landscaped grounds including a running stream, ponds with lily pads and a fountain, and a beautiful green manicured lawn immediately attract one's attention. The ultimate attribute of the Inn though and the wonderfully warm welcome and service one receives from the hostess Cindy Motta on arrival which continues throughout your stay. To top your stay off, is the gourmet breakfast that's provided. Being located not too far from the Inn, it's always nice knowing we'll return again for another enjoyable stay.
5 on July 25, 2012
Everything about our stay was perfect! The Bluebird Inn is very well done. Loved the history of the home. Our stay was beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, quiet and very romantic. Thank you to the Motta's for making it an 'outstanding' experience to stay with them. Our breakfast was especially delicious. Thank you so much. We look forward to seeing you again.

Great experience. Very nice, helpful folks. Website photos don't do justice to the actual experience. I had some doubts about the "5 star" quality. Not to worry, this was/is a great choice. Wish we had stayed an extra day to experience the breakfast (we were up and out at 5:30 AM to do the Bear Lake Monster Century bike ride). Forced to give a Dining score, but we only grabbed some snacks.

This was our first stay at a Bed & Breakfast. I saw the location while driving back from a job and decided to book a room for our anniversary weekend. We arrived to an empty house with an envelope on the door and were both pleased at the trust given to just give us a key and allow us to roam. Fresh cookies were provided and the hot tub was ready to go. We loved the Beehive room and woke early to see the sunrise on Bear Lake out the bay window (spectacular view). The breakfast really impressed us with it's quality and presentation. We both felt the quality and feeling we got were well worth the price. We are already talking of booking again next year.
5 on November 01, 2011
The whole experience was wonderful. We celebrated a birthday get-away and the Inn left a wonderful piece of birthday cake, a card and treats! Breakfast was fantastic!! The room was spotless and we were very well cared for!

We found ourselves booked at the Bluebird Inn with a wedding party, and enjoyed the the beauty both in the accommodations as well as the surrounding grounds. The innkeepers did an outstanding job not only caring for a full house, but did a beautiful job on the wedding. We are now planning our next stay when we can spend more time on our own.
5 on August 14, 2011
The hospitality of the innkeepers Cindy & Kip was great! The grounds of the bed and breakfast was beautiful, the landscaping and water features. I loved the lily pond. We had a very peaceful night sitting on the porch looking at the wonderful view of Bear Lake and listening to a running stream, it gave you an impression of a mountain stream with all the conviences of home. They had cookies and candy in your room, and also available snacks in the dining area. The breakfast was excellent with more than enough to eat. It was a fun experience. We would recommend this bed and breakfast.
4.4 on August 02, 2011
Kip and Cindy Motta were wonderful. Visiting with them, having an outstanding breakfast, getting to meet other guests and enjoying the beautiful surroundings made this a truely enjoyable get-a-way. We will certainly consider coming back next year when our family has their "Bear Lake" outing. We would normally not spend this much money but felt the warm and cordial breakfast time made the experience unique and worth it.

We stayed in the "apartment" quarters over the 4th of July weekend of 2011. While it was much more room than 2 people needed, it was the only available space so we took it! The apartment sleeps 10 people and is very spacious and would accommodate a large group very nicely. Loved the decor and the cozy feeling of the entire house. The outside environment is absolutely beautiful and so very relaxing! Loved everything about this inn and will definitely plan on staying there again in the future!
