I don't know why it's not showing yet. This is what I wrote: Who would have thought that the small town of St. Ansgar Iowa holds such a wonderful B&B. I've stayed at the Blue Belle Inn four times now and it has become my home away from home. Sherrie, the owner, has done a wonderful job in romantically decorating this Victorian style house. Each room has it's own theme, based on a famous novel. My favorite room is Sherwood Forrest on the second floor. If you are going to stay at the Blue Belle then be prepared for a warm welcome by Sherrie and her staff. Breakfast is superb, home cooked and always includes fresh fruit. Eat it all and you won't be hungry until dinner time. Even though St. Ansgar has other restaurants Sherrie will be more than happy to serve you a great lunch or dinner as well. My favorite part of the Blue Belle Inn is the porch swing on the front porch. It's a great spot to relax.

In this case, the view was watching the dinner play, almost participating in it. Lots of fun and a great night out!

We are friends of IPTV so could stay here 2 nights for 1 price. It's a nice way to have a great stay & meet more nice people as we travel.

After attending a family wedding, we enjoyed a very relaxing stay at this beautifully restored and decorated inn. The owner was very gracious and attentive to our needs, even making sure that the temperture in our room was to our liking. Our bed was very comfortable and the morning breakfast was delicious! We highly recommend this fine bed and breakfast.

I came to the Blue Belle Inn after learning the other B&B I was at was over charging me. The Blue Belle was very welcoming and gave me a great rate.

Beautifully restored Victorian home with charmingly decorated rooms with children's book themes. Although rooms and dinner were somewhat expensive by our standards, it was a lovely place to stay.

A glorious place in Northern Iowa

This beautiful inn was a wonderful surprise in the middle of rural Iowa. The friendly staff welcomed us and allowed us to explore all of the other whimsically themed rooms, which were flashbacks to the favorite books of my childhood. And the breakfast made me feel like I was in a different decade, with dainty tea cups and delicious food. I cannot wait to come back!

After being foiled by winter snow storms for Christmas 2008 AND 2009, we finally took an anniverasry weekend. Our intent for the Christmas event is to get our family from 4 cities to the one B&B and use entire place. The Blue Belle was very cooperative w/ our weather frustrations.

Every part of the B&B was above and beyond but it was the little things that made our 10 yr anniversary special. A cool summer night, porch swing, snuggled in my husband's arms sipping on a glass of wine--is this heaven? No it was Iowa! Once and Iowa girl, always an Iowa girl!

What a wonderful experience! I stayed in the "Heaven to Betsy" suite as the culmination to my participation in the 2009 "Betsy-Tacy Society" convention. Maud Hart Lovelace would be honored by this fine tribute to her books!

Staying in this stunning old home, felt like going to a rich old aunt's! We were made to feel welcomed with comfortable rooms and delicious food. With each room decorated from the owner's favorite book it was a treat to check our the other rooms. Definitely a must stay when in Iowa!

This was our second stay at the Blue Belle. We really love the place partly because of its charm, but especially because of the wonderful people who work there. Always a very pleasant experience.

The Blue Belle Inn is absolutely wonderful! We were there on a weeknight and had the whole house to ourselves for quiet relaxation. You'd think people would be flocking to this charm-filled Victorian home. Conveniently located about halfway between Minneapolis and Des Moines, an hour from Rochester, MN, I don't know why it isn't full every night. We stayed in the recently renovated "Anne's House of Dreams" and enjoyed the double shower, especially. My wife and I have enjoyed sitting in a hot tub together, but this huge walk-in shower, beautifully finished with Italian tiles and double sprayers, is very romantic - in a sexy "I'll wash your back if you wash mine" sort of way. We also enjoyed the gourmet lunch that was optional with our stay. We look forward to returning again.

What a special surprise to find in the Iowa countryside - all that bed and breakfast inns should be! In this quaint little town is a simply GORGEOUS B&B where the owner is a chef extraordinaire and her help make you feel like family! You must try the third story "suite" - I felt like I was in heaven! My 77 year old mother and 9 year old daughter and I were treated like royalty on our getaway. I can't wait to go back for the murder mystery evenings and more of the dining experience!

Our stay at the Blue Belle Inn was the perfect combination of private time in a wonderfully relaxing room (complete with Jaccuzzi) and engaging conversation with the Innkeeper and her staff. All of this in one of the quaintest towns in the Midwest! Will definately visit again and will recommend to family and friends.

This is an absolutely delightful place. It is 1st class all the way. Each room is set to a different theme of a children's book. The Innkeeper is a gourmet cook and conducts cooking seminars as well as murder mystery parties. It's a perfect place for a wedding rehearsal dinner party of special anniversary weekend. I had stayed there several times and never been disappointed. There is much to see and do in the town. Antique stores are the best in the country just walking distance from the Inn.
