Leilani B & B is set nestled in the lava landscape of Ocean View near South Point and is well worth your time. Lynn and Randy have done a wonderful job in making this a friendly and warm place to rest your head. The breakfast they set is very good, with lots of fresh native fruit and fresh Kona coffee. Our room was small but exceptionally well decorated and our bathroom was spacious and just renovated with all new fixtures. The grounds are spacious and they even have their own lava tubes and puka to explore if you so desire. Dining in Ocean View itself is problematic at best, but there are good restaurants in nearby Na'alehu (Hanna Hou is super!). Leilani was a great value and we recommend it for your stay in the area.

Leilani Bed & Breakfast was conveniently located for our needs. It provided a very clean, comfortable place near restaurants, markets, and a Saturday Open Market. Lynn was such a wonderful, personable host. Our 11 month old granddaughter, Sophia, took to her so readily. We were reluctant to depart from this "Home". I would recommend Leilani's to anyone traveling on the Big Island of Hawaii in the Volcano area looking for somewhere to stay. It is conveniently located between Kona and Hilo. We enjoyed a lovely 3 day stay in Nov. 2009. The rooms are located seperate from the owners home by a large enclosed dining area making them private yet interactive with the hosts who are friendly and serve a delicious breakfast. This location is unusual as it is in a very southern part of the island and on the way to many area attractions. This is not a heavily populated area so it makes it charming in its own way. The weather on this part of the island is drier so if you enjoy warmth without the humidity and rain it is a great location also. Another plus is that it is clean and the beds are comfortable.

Such an honor to be a guest of Lynn and Randy's at Leilani B&B in September 2009. I awoke at dawn excited to be clothed in the perfect warm temp and eager to explore the outdoors--lush green environment accented by black volcanic rock and punctuated with bright yellow saffron finches, blossoms of hibiscus and plumeria, and of course a view of the ocean six miles to the west. I loved the Leilani's relaxing squared-shaped lanai that offered spacious common space and a delicious continental breakfast. I was fascinated by the black stone coy pond in the corner displaying nautical artifacts from the owners' previous life at sea. The three guest rooms are connected to the lanai on the left (I stayed in the Shell Room; honeymooners tend to stay in the Orchid Room while families occupy the larger Palm Room). Recent remodeling including brand new bathrooms add to every guest's comfort. I especially enjoyed the unparalled warmth of the hosts' hospitality in this ocean view oasis--definitely a paradise gateway to Big Island adventures and a place I'd love to wake up in again.
