  • This is it-The Blue Goose-quiet, private and economical providing easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii.
Enjoy the spacious deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Oahu. Yes, get used to the red dirt on your shoes. That's Molokai. Good reason to remove the shoes at the door as is the custom in the islands.
Molokai Ranch stretches from The Blue Goose to the shore. Enjoy the changing sky from the deck and some beautiful sunsets
Papohaku Beach can be wild or calm. It is unsafe to swim here. Even on a calm day there are undertows and currents. But it is a wonderful beach for sunbathing and watching the waves break.
Want to talk story. Plan your own party in the lounge...a cup of espresso, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, wine or cool drink of your own choosing. Check out the books and board games!
Enjoy the privacy of your own entrance, your own room, your own bath and your own lanai...or join the folks in the louge or dining area.
Clean up, freshen up and enjoy the privacy of your own bathroom. A washer and dryer are available as are an ironing board, iron and hair dryer.
Peace as far as the eye can see! Go slow, you're on Molokai. Enjoy the expanse of Molokai Ranchlands.
It's a short drive to many of the white sand beaches on the west end of Molokai. Don't worry about those few extra pounds. You have the whole beach to yourself as you can see.
It's always grand to look off the deck in the morning and see a herd of horses in the nearby pasture of Molokai Ranch.
Dixie Maru Cove, our favorite swimming area, is about 10 miles away, and the gateway to a beautiful 9 mile hike along an uninhabited coastline. There are usually a few people to swim or snorkel with and a few keikis as well. Just a short walk through the woods and you'll find a more private beach for whatevah!
Only on Molokai can you see the endangered monk seal in its native habitat, but keep your distance. They move fast and bite when disturbed.
Check with the Molokai Visitor's Association to find out the dates of special festivals during the year. Here you see dancers at Ka Hula Pico on Molokai, the birthplace of the hula.
Molokai is Paniolo Country! If you're lucky, you can get in on one of the local rodeo activities. They're usually free for the sitting.
Kaluakoi, just another deserted beach on the west end all yours to enjoy!

A good option for budget travelers. No view from your room.

    January 02, 2011

The location is 17 miles from the main town of Kaunakakai and about 10 miles from the airport. The Maunaloa town where the B&B is located is charming but nothing going on there other than a general store, a post office and a kite store (must see). Plan your day because there's no restaurant in town. The B&B is a 3 level building. The main rooms are in the second level. The Innkeepers live on the top level. The room is clean with basic necessities as shown in the picture. The room doesn't have a window. It has a small lanai but is covered with some sort of screen so you can't see anything outside. The B&B doesn't offer outdoor space to relax and admire the spectacular view. You can go to the huge lanai in front but it doesn't have outdoor furniture. Since people live upstairs, you'll hear footsteps once in a while. Breakfast is good and Jim and Sue are accommodating. A good option for budget conscious travelers who want to get away from it all. If you are looking for basic lodging and doesn't require amenities, this may be for you.
