With scenic views of rugged, west Molokai from your lanai, the newly finished Blue Goose Bed & Breakfast in the old plantation town of Maunaloa is a relaxing, comfortable accommodation. Take a short drive to Papohaku State Park and enjoy the longest white sand beach in Hawaii or swim, surf or snorkel at Dixie Maru Cove. Drive anywhere on the island in less than two hours to shop, browse, hike, bicycle, kayak, ride horses, fish, eat, talk story or enjoy the local music.

The location is 17 miles from the main town of Kaunakakai and about 10 miles from the airport. The Maunaloa town where the B&B is located is charming but nothing going on there other than a general store, a post office and a kite store (must see). Plan your day because there's no restaurant in town. The B&B is a 3 level building. The main rooms are in the second level. The Innkeepers live on the top level. The room is clean with basic necessities as shown in the picture. The room doesn't have a window. It has a small lanai but is covered with some sort of screen so you can't see anything outside. The B&B doesn't offer outdoor space to relax and admire the spectacular view. You can go to the huge lanai in front but it doesn't have outdoor furniture. Since people live upstairs, you'll hear footsteps once in a while. Breakfast is good and Jim and Sue are accommodating. A good option for budget conscious travelers who want to get away from it all. If you are looking for basic lodging and doesn't require amenities, this may be for you.

You will go past the Maunaloa General Store on the right and the Big Wind Kite Factory and Post Office on your left. When you reach the T at the top of the hill, turn left. Look to your right.
