Wir sprechen Deutsch. Your hosts, Anne Stockel and daughter, Nanette, offer four beautiful vacation studios. Each have ocean and garden views, a full bath, free wireless internet, cable TV and convenient on-site parking. Three studios have kitchenettes with refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, electric skillet, rice cooker, hot water pot, and dishes. A portable stove top is available on request. The fourth studio, the Orchid Suite, has a well-equipped, full kitchen. All studios have comfortable queen size beds, and sleeper sofas for extra guests. Glass sliders open onto spacious, covered lanais. The Plumeria and Pineapple Suites also have a separate sitting area and walk-in closets. A washing machine, dryer, detergent and ironing board are available. We have lived in Kona for over 20 years and have explored this beautiful island extensively. We greet our guests in person and are available throughout their stay to help plan their outings. We supply beach chairs, towels, coolers, and boogie boards free of charge. There is convenient on-site parking. We especially enjoy our European visitors, as we both speak German.

    Bears Place was an extremely clean and comfortable suite with all the amenities necessary in a Guest house. The little treat left each day was a very nice surprise! Annette was very accommodating with where to find good beaches, good food and sights to see. We really enjoyed our stay at Kailua Kona a lot!

    I was very satisfied with my stay at the studio apartment of this guest house. It offers great comfort and ample space and provisions compared to some other places in this price range. In addition, it was very clean, the seaside balcony is amazing. You can tell that the ladies who run the business are very involved in what they're doing, it was a pleasure meeting them.

    • Deposit Amount Required: Reservations require a deposit of 50% of the total. Balance is due at check-in.

    • Cancellations: Guests can receive a refund, less a $25 processing fee, if they cancel their reservation in writing at least twelve weeks prior to scheduled arrival. Otherwise, the deposit may still be refunded if the room is re-rented. Guests who find it necessary to arrive late or depart early are still responsible for the full amount of their reservation, unless we can rebook the room.

    We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Orchid suite . We enjoyed watching sunsets from lanai,even got to watch full moon set from our bed(which was very comfortable).The kitchen is well equiped ,it accommendates many peoples tastes for cooking needs if you think you need it look in the cupboard its there!Nanette & Anne were eager to help with information of the area to meet our specific interests.These warm and inviting ladies make this a place we highly recommend & will return to in our future visits.David & Lisa

    The "Hibiscus-Room" is a very big, bright, modern and well equipped room. Everything is there to make a good breakfast or a small dinner. We loved to sit on the big balcony, even without the ocean view. The owner are very friendly and helpful

    We enjoyed our stay. Anne and Nanette surprised us by leaving our first day's breakfast in the refrigerator and a little snack for us each night. The room was very comfortable. Nanette and Anne thought of everything to make our stay just perfect.

      We are a 10 minute drive from Kona International Airport. Exit the Airport to Highway 19 (Queen Kaahumanu Highway) and turn right towards Kailua. The first traffic light you come to (in about a half a mile) is Kaiminani Dr. Turn left and go 3.7 miles all the way uphill to the end and turn left on Highway 190 (also known as Mamalahoa Highway) In about 1.4 miles, take the first left after the 32-mile marker (just past Makalei Drive). This is Puukala Road. Go downhill 0.2 miles and bear right at fork (do not turn right on side road). We are the third driveway on the right after the fork- number 72-1071.
