Hale Kiapa of Hanalei

My wife and I stayed with Pete and Sue for our honeymoon on Kauai. From the first moment we spoke to Pete on the phone, we knew we were in good hands. What we discovered when we got to the Inn was beyond our wildest dreams. The location is stunning, the house is immaculate and Pete and Sue went above and beyond to ensure that our trip was everything we could hope for. They are thoughtful and considerate hosts...we immediately felt like extended family. We had the most incredible breakfasts in the morning, the suggestions they had for us ranged from hikes and adventure to restaurants...we were in such good hands. We told our friends and family about our experience immediately and had to come on here to encourage you to do the same. Go! Immediately!!

We stayed at the Hale Kiapa in Hanalei and felt very comfortable from the first moment. The two hosts, Pete & Sue are very friendly and will gladly assist you in planning activities around Hanalei. Besides walking the Napali Coast we recommend you take a kajak to make a ride up the river. While strenous, it is very well worth the effort. Oh, and you will love Sue's breakfasts - mmmmhh. If you plan on going to Hanalei, you should definitely stay at the Hake Kiapa!

We stayed in the Bali Hai Suite and enjoyed the views of the mountains and waterfalls from both the suite and lanai. Hanalei was a great town to explore. We walked from the Hale Kiapa to town for dinner each night. We used the bikes for a tour of the town and a trip along the river. We also used the Kayaks one evening for a paddle across the bay and up the river. The sunset from the kayaks was amazing. Sue and Pete were full of information about the town and culture. The food was great. We loved the fresh fruit plates, and the frittata was our favorite.

We just returned from our third vacation at Hale Kiapa (formerly Bed, Breakfast & Beach). The proximity to Hanalei Bay beach and the town of Hanalei is what drew us in the first place, so of course, that is still awesome. But new owners Sue & Pete have really stepped it up a notch! Sue's breakfasts were stellar. We so appreciated the fantastic fruit plates and the specialty dishes she crafted each morning. Two of our favorites were Grand Marnier french toast and a lovely fritata. The fresh new paint and wood floors in the Bali Hai Suite made the place even better. And we enjoyed having cable TV and wifi too. Hope you can go visit one of the loveliest places in Hawaii! Alexa & Joe from Oakland, CA

We were very happy to stay here. The price was a little more than some other places that are available, but what we got made it more than worthwhile. The rooms and bed were huge and in great condition. Photos don't do them justice. Its a very short walk to the beach. Breakfasts were excellent, healthy food and Sue is a generous host with some interesting stories. Would recommend this to anyone.

The Hale Kiapa captured the magic and wonder of Hanalei bay for me with everything from my room, to the breakfasts to the owners Pete and Sue. They were very friendly and were always helpful and knowledgeable with questions about the locale. They also enjoyed talking and learning about their guests, harboring a welcoming feeling during my stay. My room was clean, spacious and venue is literally across the street from beach. The food and coffee was good and always fresh and I appreciated the pitcher of cold water that was out throughout the day. And yes, Sue's Grand Marnier French Toast lives up to it's hype. My wife and I recently stayed at in the Bali Hai suite of the Hale Kiapa Bed and Breakfast during mid June 2011. I would highly recommend the Bali Hai suite with its amazing views and comfortable living space. Sue was very friendly and had amazing breakfasts prepared around our schedule; which was nice since we had some early mornings. The B&B had several amenities which I did not use; pair of bikes, kayaks and some snorkel equipment. The price is well worth it especially when factoring in the breakfast. If I get a change to go back to the beautiful Hanalei, I will definitely stay at the Bali Hai suite.

Just returned from a fabulous trip to Hanalei.... the Hale Kiapa was a great place to stay. Pete & Sue were out of town when we arrived, but they left us in the very capable hands of Gail, the previous "host". The Bali Hai Suite had amazing views & offered much privacy. You are also within walking distance of several of the Hanalei shops, restaurants, etc. We were the only guests at the time, so the breakfast schedule was very flexible for us - we would enjoy coffee followed by delicious, creative "feasts". Sue made it back before we left, so I was able to enjoy her much talked about French Toast - yummy!! This was my first trip to Kauai, but I very much hope to return & would love to stay at Hale Kiapa again!

The French Toast is to die for. Amazing people, amazing location... couldn't ask for much more.

I stayed at Hale Kiapa in late May and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The Bali Hai suite is perfect, the location is unbeatable and Pete and Sue are wonderful hosts. When (not if) I return to Hanalei Bay, I will stay at Hale Kiapa. Mahalo
