ALOHA! and Welcome to possibly the world's most active (and safest) volcano in the world. We are all about helping you make the most out of your trip to the Volcanoes National Park. You can save time and money by lodging here ~ Hilo is 28 miles away and Kona is about 100. Just look for our big, oval sign hanging to the right side of the Volcano Post Office. As you enter the property, you will begin to realize you made the right choice. This exclusive area in the village feels relaxing and inviting and still has a touch of old Hawaii hanging in the air. The house was built in the old plantation style with spacious rooms and ample places to roam around ~ inside and out. Tall Tsugi cedars, native trees, plants and giant ferns encompass the 1-1/3 acres. It is fenced and gated for your privacy and security. Everything about it says: "Come and enjoy!" PS: If you are looking for a modern, VACATION RENTAL house nearby, we can also help you! We charge $175/night/dbl + $20/additional guest. Sleeps 2-8 comfortably. Pleae call us at 1-888-967-7286 for availability.

Great place to base a stay while visiting the volcano and seeing the lava. We only wish we could have stayed longer. It felt just like being at home.

The common areas were very nice and the breakfast was delicious with generous portions. The rooms all looked updated and well kept except the Pele Room, the bathroom shower needs to be repaired, I thought I might fall through the floor of the shower. The termite dust was building up on the floor of the bathroom too.The owner was very helpful and friendly and the other staff were courteous and pleasant. When I saw how lovely all the other rooms looked, I was alittle disappointed. The grounds were well kept and fun to wander around.

The hospitality at Aloha Junction B & B was at the heart of our stay there. Robert greeted us and we immediately felt welcomed. the room was comfortable and met our needs. Each breakfast was so ample, delicious, and enjoyable. Around the breakfast table everyone became acquainted and shared experiences and hints of worthwhile things to explore in the area. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Robert and Aloha Junction. Maggie Louden Glenmont, Maryland

Aloha Junction B&B is a gem, what a great value. The Innkeeper was welcoming, so knowledgeable about the area, very hospitable and made incredible breakfasts!!! Just ask our teenage sons!

We arrived late our first night and Robert was at the gate to welcome us. We had a large, comfortable room and found an electric blanket on our bed, already warming the bed ...so thoughtful on a chilly night. The lovely home has a kitchen, dining room and living room all available to guests. Large screen TV in living room plus smaller one in our room. Robert comes early in the morning to prepare a yummy, large breakfast in the home's kitchen. The table is set and serving begins at 8 am. The tropical fresh fruits are as pictured here and grow on the large property of the home. The speckled lemon impressed me. I saw chickens way in the back yard, perhaps the eggs served were farm fresh. Aloha Junction is quite near Volcanoes National Park and makes staying late for the night program at Jagger Museum a short drive back. The property is beautiful and filled with flowers like Bird of Paradise and fruit trees (orange, grapefruit, lemons). Look for the large tree house while you are enjoying the grounds. Dinner suggestion; the Thai Restaurant. Very good.

Robert and Susan decided to put their love of entertaining, cooking, and island know-how to work by transforming their older 1927-style plantation house into a lovely bed and breakfast. Susan also teaches 3rd grade at a rural elementary school; Robert manages the property. In their time off they both enjoy kayaking in Hilo Bay, gardening and farming.

You can always wake up to fresh fruit and juice with your breakfast. But the papaya boat-- is by far, the best; filled with bananas and slathered in fresh lemon juice. Mmmmm-mm. It's Ono-licious!! Then for the main entree, we serve a pretty hearty meal consisting of either eggs/potatoes, French toast, or pancakes. Along with the scrambled eggs, we serve sausage, English muffins, and either rice or potatoes. Of course, hot oatmeal, granola, or cold cereal are always available upon request too. Some people actually starve themselves the night before just to relish in Robert's robust breakfast!
