Hale Makamae Hawaii Bed and Breakfast offers two suites with kitchenettes, dining/living rooms and one studio - all with private bathrooms and separate entrances. Close to active red hot lava plunging into the ocean, natural hot ponds, beautiful coastal parks, Kapoho tidepools, Lava Tree Park. 30 minutes to Hilo and Volcanoes National Park, 5 minutes to Pahoa, in Leilani Estates. German/English spoken. Gourmet island breakfast.

From Hilo Town/Airport drive in the direction of Volcano (Hwy. 11). Turn left at the Keaau by-pass onto Pahoa-Kalapana-Highway (Hwy. 130). Follow Hwy 130 past Pahoa, until you come to mile marker 13. Slow down, a few hundred yards further turn left into Leilani Estates. Now, follow Leilani Avenue to Makamae Street. Turn left here and drive almost to the end of Makamae Street. Our Bed & Breakfast is the last house on the right hand side. It is a brown house with red trim. The house number on the mailbox across the street is 13-3315. There is also a sign in front of the property.
If you are coming from Volcano, follow signs to Keaau/Hilo and turn right in Keaau onto Hwy 130. From there, follow the directions given above. - Nearest major airport: Hilo, Hawaii (Big) Island, HI (ITO) 25 miles
