Hale Luana Bed & Breakfast

  • Inn Details

Everyone knows what "Aloha" means and nowhere is its meaning truer than on our beautiful garden island of Kauai."Hale" means house and "Luana" means to be at leisure and enjoy pleasant surroundings. Bob and I will do our best to provide a "Hale Luana" while the island of Kauai does the rest. Our Bed & Breakfast rooms are tastefully decorated in island style fabrics, with original watercolors of local scenes and each is equipped with a spacious private bath, color TV, VCR, microwave, coffeemaker and other amenities. Each room has been carefully designed to blend with the surroundings, having spectacular views out to the mountains in one direction and overlooking the swimming pool and the ocean beyond in the other. Each morning of your stay you will be served a gourmet breakfast on the guest lanai (weather permitting) or at your door.

Beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. A wonderful relaxing atmosphere that is pleasant change from the normal hustle and bustle of the resorts hotels. Breakfast was always tasty and filling with more than enough to fill you up. Elizabeth went out of her way to make my birthday a very special day, she is a wonderful hostess and always thinking of her guests. I plan to go back again and again.

Innkeeper Elizabeth Ferris put a lot of thought into our room, from the inviting tropical decor to little touches, such as beach towels and mats and body wash in the shower. Our room had all sorts of amenities, including a refrigerator and a coffee maker with a selection of teas, as well as coffee, and ample closet and storage space. The views are fantastic, with mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, and the beautifully kept grounds are full of flowering orchids. Breakfast was delicious, as well. The inn is up in the hills, providing quiet and privacy, but is a short drive to all the sights on the coast.

Room was very nice but with no trade winds, air conditioner would be nice or a floor fan. Change towels daily & linens more frequently. Need new mattresses. Owners helpfulness made up for what was lacking.

    Innkeeper Response
I have a folder in each room which gives information such as "if you would like your linens changed or fresh towels please let me know". Most of my stays are only three (3) days and therefore I do not change the bed but if someone would like their bed changed I am perfectly willing to do that. Just ask. We have ceiling fans in both rooms and normally have fresh breezes and rarely experience weather so hot and still as to be uncomfortable. If guests want air conditioning I suggest that they go to a hotel where the rooms have fixed windows and canned air and fresh towels every day.
