    A wonderful stay

    April 12, 2013

We recently enjoyed a wonderful few days at Arts and Orchids. The proprietors of the B&B were such wonderful host who took the time to make sure we enjoyed our stay. We selected the large Garden room, downstairs, which offered more than enough room for the two of us to stretch out. My wife especially enjoyed the jetted tub to soak and relax at the end of the day. Each morning we were greeted with a wonderful breakfast, which showcased a medley of fruit grown on the premises, along with and a delicious homemade granola. And of course, the old standby of eggs, breakfast meat and toast were available for the taking. The road to the property is a little rough in patches as you approach the property. I would highly suggest selecting a rental car with a bit of ground clearance (a two-wheel drive car is fine). Follow the direction provided by the host versus trusting your Garmin and you should be fine. It would also be prudent to try to arrive while there's some daylight left. This will make finding the place much easier. Overall, it's a wonderful place to stay that is off the beaten path. Your hosts will go out of their way to answer all you questions about the local area and make you feel right at home.

What a Gem in the Rain Forest

    November 20, 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and it was perfectly located for exploring the Puna district and Volcanoes National Park. We felt right at home. Breakfast was scrumptious and Markie was most welcoming and very informative about the area. If we ever return we would definitely stay here again.

Three nights in the rain forest

    October 13, 2012

The friendliness of the proprietors was evident. The advice and chats with them during breakfast was very helpful. The swimming pool was a good feature which we used several times.

Ein wunderschöner Start in die Ferien

    August 13, 2012
