    • Hanalei

    • Distance to city: 5 miles

    • Directions to property:
There is only one major perimeter road on Kauai, which has different numbers and names in different areas. We are approximately two miles from the northerly end of the road, which is known here as Kuhio Highway. If you keep the ocean on your right, you'll eventually come to us. We are on the first streeton your left past Hanalei Colony Resort.

When you leave the airport, turn right at the light and continue for about 30 miles to Hanalei village (after the first one-way bridge). Kalalau B&B is about five miles past Hanalei across several one-way bridges. First left after Hanalei Colony Resort (only resort in the area), first house on the right.

We stayed in the Jungalow for a total of 5 nights. It had everything that we could have wished for, and on an island which could prove an expensive place to stay, it offered an economical option. The room itself was spacious and clean and we enjoyed sitting outside on the porch each night, llistening to the lizards and eating our tea - for as long as the mosquitoes would let us! The kitchen and bathroom facilities were more than adequate and it was good to have towels and the basics provided. The b and b has an excellent location which allowed us to walk 4 minutes to a good beach for snorkelling - Tunnels beach itself is not far away to walk down to. We had been worried that our location at the top of the island would put us out of reach of the rest of the island but we actuallly found this to be the most picturesque part of Kau'i and tended to stay around Hanalei and the beautiful Na'Pali coast. We saw very little of our hosts but Mark was helful when we saw him and made sure we knew what was going on.

Great Value, great food, excellent location!

My husband and I stayed in "The Jungalow" for three nights during our 3 week honeymoon in Hawaii. The room was only $75 per night...perfect for a young couple. It was clean, and had a private bathroom and access to the jacuzzi. Mark was a great host, and make the best gourmet breakfast my husband and I have ever had. The location was perfect. Near incredible hiking, and walking distance the some of the best snorkeling in Hawaii. Also, free snorkeling gear! What an experience. Can't wait to come back. Aloha Mark and Sandy!

one phone call to Sandy Thomas and I had a friend in Kauai, with college age kids stranded on spring break. She was a wealth of info and a God send on an Easter Sunday. Thank you and God Bless
