Wonderful choice for Kona-- outstanding views of the ocean and lush jungle, and a lush bed as well. Hot tub a bit manky but nice, and I like being encouraged to go "au naturel." Delicious breakfast and a chatty, friendly host. (Greg, in our case.) Cleanliness is good but daily "freshening up" for which a tip is encouraged doesn't even include making the bed. Worth it for the views and breakfast on the lanai alone, and a friendly host and a friendlier local cat sweeten the deal!

Two of us stayed at this lovely house located on the side of the mountain with stunning views of the Kona coastline. It isn't easy to get to, but the drive up the hill through coffee groves and tropical fruit trees (mangos and papaya!) with wild turkeys, roosters and hens all around is truly other worldly. Johan, our host, is both charming and informative. He prepares a gourmet breakfast and provides a warm atomsphere to relax and enjoy the comfortable room and stunning views. The bed in our room was quitre comfortable and the night quiet, despite the roosters on the road! satellite TV and Wi-Fi internet access make it even more accomodating.

1st class operation with top end decor, electronics and million dollar views. An eclectic set of guests were in residence when my wife & I were there, so leave your stuffy mainland notions behind. Great people one & all and after all, these are the islands. Johann was a great host.

    great spot, host and amenities...

Very clean, well maintained, secluded, nice grounds and nice common areas. Friendly innkeeper and great creative breakfasts. The innkeeper makes breakfast and then eats with the guests. Good time to ask questions of him and the other guests, very friendly atmosphere. They had plenty of stuff to borrow; snorkel gear, coolers, boogie boards, ice packs etc, and they supplied beach towels all these amenities at no cost; nice service and a personal touch you won’t find in other places. Refrigerators in each room and in the common area; gas grill, microwave, pots, pans everything you need to make dinner if you’re inclined; and we did use them. No negatives to this spot. Be prepared for the 1 mile drive up the hill off the highway. It goes through some coffee fields and the road seems more like a driveway. Take it easy as the road isn’t very good. But when you explore a bit of the island you realized most of the roads aren’t very good. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back to this BB and highly recommend it.

O.k. the road is not great (pretty wretched actually) but it is SO WORTH IT! The entire house is furnished beautifully - obviously a lot of thought and time went into many many details. They include very useful information in every room (both a copy of a great guidebook and a folder of information about things like what restaurants they think are especially good (and the ones we tried were quite good). The views (even in the unusually rainy weather we happened to have) are fabulous (another reason the road is worth it). The breakfast are works of art (and smell and taste as wonderful as they look - we should have taken pictures). Don't come if you're trying to stay on a diet ;). All in all it was a wonderful place to stay and relax. It was like Hollywood's vision of what a tropical B&B should be like - but real.
