    Welcome to paradise ! The Rainbow Plantation B&B is located on 3.5 acres of tropical delight. Here you are surrounded by birds and tropical trees in a relaxing peaceful setting with ocean view. Yet, we are close to all the major attractions in the area. Perfect for Eco travelers, bird watchers and nature lovers. With new ownership, there are a lot of improvements going on. Rooms and the whole property are being upgraded in various ways, without loosing it original charm from being a successful B&B for 17 years now. We are minutes away from Kealakekua Bay and the Captain Cook Monument where you can kayak, snorkel or swim with dolphins and sea turtles. A nearby beautiful hiking trail also leads down to the monument and marine park. The ancient "Place of Refuge" at Honaunau Bay is another great snorkeling spot and Dolphin habitat. We are located in the heart of the Kona Coffee country only 20 minutes from Kona town with good shopping and dining, and 40 minutes from the Kona airport. The Volcano National Park is about 80 miles away. All our units are comfortable with private baths and separate entrances, TVs and refrigerators. Some have ocean view. Rates range from $69.00 to $109.00 double or single. Included is a healthy tropical breakfast and there is also a full kitchen for your use. Free WiFi, parking and macadamia nut ! We also offer cheaper car rentals through Budget, often lower than most other websites. We also gladly help with booking attractions such as the famous evening Manta ray snorkeling and boat cruises, often sold out. See you here soon !

    BnB in a well-kept paradise

    This BnB is surrounded by nature, flowers, trees and animals - which is great! Rooms are only upper average (clean and equipped with fridge), but who cares if the surrounding is so nice. Very nice and friendly owners who prepare great and healthy breakfasts. We definately can recommend this place.

    wonderful place to stay

    We stayed at the Rainbow Plantation for the first part of our honeymoon in the Crow's Nest. While the early morning wake-up call from the roosters was at first less than perfect, once we made our way up to breakfast all was forgiven. The most delicious pancakes, fruits, granola, coffee, juice...absolutely wonderful! Our room (really more of a cottage) was spacious, comfortable and clean. Watching the birds wander by as we sat on our front porch or watching the peacocks take refuge from the rain right in front of our glass door was just so cool! Definitely not for those who prefer a fancy resort experience. But for the rest of us, absolutely a great place to stay!

    Jungle Queen

    The Jungle Queen, a 34 foot former Alaskan fishing boat, now rests overlooking the ocean, and serves as a cozy unique cottage. It has a small bedroom with 2 single beds, a bath with shower, a small livingroom with a sofa, TV and fridge. The covered deck with great ocean views is perfect for an afternoon rest or evening drink.

    • Deposit Amount Required: Full amount if staying within 6 months. A $300 deposit if arriving within 6 months, with full payment due 2 months before arrival.

    • Cancellations: Cancellation policy: If reservation is canceled at least 30 days prior to arrival date, a FULL refund is given. Within 30 days and 1 week, one nigh is charged. Within 1 week, 2 nights are charged. Same day, no refund. If room can be rented to others, a full refund will be given.
