Nolichuckey Bluffs has eight rental cabins (one, two and three bedrooms) and a country store. Breakfast is available in the country store. Each cabin is fully equipped with linen, dishes, full kitchen and 1, 1 & 1/2 or 2 baths depending on the cabin. Some cabins have private jacuzzis. The cabins are located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. On property is a picnic pavilion, antique grist mill and naturally grown agriculture project including a 30 ft x 120 ft cold frame. A beautiful country park is 1/2 mile away with swimming pool and water slide, miniature golf and tennis courts. The property is close to town but in the country so guests can enjoy a quiet getaway nestled in the woods or overlooking the mountains. Nestled on 6 acres, this unique ex-corporate retreat is a perfect setting to relax and enjoy the finest that the mountains has to offer. The original owner who was CEO of Dayco corporation during the 1950's created the landscaped arrangement of tulip poplar trees, maples, dogwoods, rhododendron, daffodils, tulips and a sweet snowball secluded atop a cliff with the mountains in the background and the trout pond 100 feet below. The property has two trails for hiking as well as two year-round creeks and 2 waterfalls. As you enter this secluded lodge a warm fireplace surrounded by wormy chestnut paneling and 36 feet of floor to ceiling windows makes you feel like you are in a tree house. The five rooms in the main house each have their own private bath, king or queen size bed, knotty pine walls and cedar lined closets. Our Treetop Balcony Rooms, the two upstairs rooms, have a beautiful and private balcony that has a stunning view of the mountains, the tops of the trees and the sound of the creek flowing nearby. In the original Carriage House are the two jacuzzi suites. Each has a private porch, queen size bed and jacuzzi/whirlpool tub. Each morning Janie makes a hearty but healthy breakfast, which our guests continually rave about. There is always fresh fruit, breads and coffee to compliment this meal and you won't walk away hungry. Mountain Creek has more than meets the eyes,with the paths, balconies,the innkeepers local knowledge, and especially being off the beaten path.

Do you remember when Gatlinburg was a quaint, quiet little place? The driveway turns left off Grassy Branch Road and the signs welcome you. The pleasant half-mile drive to the top that winds past meadows and other homesteads doesn't prepare you for the view that awaits after the last turn. At the top of the mountain, the breath-taking panorama that stretches from Greenbriar Pinnacle to Mt. Harrison--with the majestic Mt. LeConte in the middle--greets the visitor. And the Inn has three wrap-around porches from which you can enjoy the majestic views. The Hippensteal Mountain View Inn is an eleven-bedroom bed and breakfast designed, built, and decorated by Vern and Lisa Hippensteal. The large porches invite you to come and relax in the rocking chairs under ceiling fans to watch the Great Smoky Mountains as they change minute by minute. Inside, the black and white tiled floor of the lobby, comfortable wicker furniture, and ambient lighting make the visitor feel he or she has stepped into the past. The large stone fireplace compels one to sit and relax. The breakfast room is elegantly decorated with marble-top tables, wicker chairs, and fine linen and is situated so guests can dine while watching the clouds dance across the mountains or the flames in the great stone fireplace. The kitchen is spacious and during the morning hours the aroma of breakfast fills the Inn. The Hippensteals are famous for their breakfast, which includes dishes like sausage pie, cheese souffle, homemade bread cheese melts, and sausage pinwheels. Lisa's fresh apple-raisin breads and pumpkin-chocolate breads are wonderful.
