The food was excellent and more than I could eat. Beth and Spencer were delightful hosts. You felt so at home. The home is beautiful and full of charm. We had Spencer drive us to tour the wineries and what a nice day that was. I would definitely visit again.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stone Manor Bed and Breakfast. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and Spencer and Beth treated us like houseguests. Stone Manor is removed from the rush of Northern VA and felt so quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was simply amazing. Everything tasted delicious! Thank you for a great night away. We will be back!
We loved Hillbrook & wish we could have stayed longer to explore and truly relax - very clean, friendly & helpful staff, awesome breakfast, beautifully decorated rooms and lovely grounds - it was a wonderful but short getaway! Clarrisa is a wonderful host as well!
Look no further, this is most-definitely the home-away-from-home that everyone wants when they go to stay at a bed and breakfast. The room (we stayed in their Peacock Suite) and property are absolutely gorgeous. My husband complained that he didn't have enough time to enjoy both the house and do all the things we wanted while we were staying there! The innkeepers, Spencer and Beth, are friendly, helpful, and incredibly kind people. And go hungry--they love to feed their guests. The breakfast they serve is a-mazing, some of the best food I've ever had while staying away from home. This place is completely deserving of the perfect score I gave it. Every detail for the guests' comfort and happiness has been considered. Beth even makes you complimentary soaps for your visit, and you choose from several options as to what scent you want before you go. If that doesn't say "perfect 10 B&B" then I don't know what does!
After having a bad experience at 2 previous B&b's earlier in the week, we were thrilled to arrive at Waypoint. Located on a quiet street off the main road, the house was so charming and inviting with a "Welcome" board out front ..it is clean, quaint and so homey. Rooms are located on the 2nd floor.mmours was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. Would definitely stay there again
Although a mile or more off the C&O towpath bike trail, the extra biking was worth it! Attentive owners, who have recently renovated the family farm and included lots of nice touches. A cold beer (which we needed!) was waiting for us as we arrived, after which we were were shuttled to/from a restaurant free of charge. Breakfast was terrific, and the owner filled our water bottles and checked our tires on the way out the next morning. Clean, quiet, and well-appointed, we will definitely stay here again. Hint - shortcut from the towpath to avoid a mile or so and traffic is to NOT exit at the Williamsport visitors center, but at Lockwood Road near Interstate 81, right on I 63, left on Governors Blvd.
Selena was a god send! My family and I were biking the C&O Canal, and we got stuck in a rain storm and could not make it to Williamsport. She picked us up from Fort Frederick and brought us back there the next day so we could continue our journey. Breakfast was nice. The location and building were beautiful. We would recommend Elmwood to everyone, and may go back there in the future to enjoy the local wine tours.
The fireplace in the Hearth & Home room was perfect for a chilly, fall weekend. The decor was simple and much more modern than most b&b's, which was refreshing. The only "negative" I have is that our room was the only one without an ensuite bathroom. We had to walk down the hallway to use the restroom or take showers. However, the innkeeper accommodated this inconvenience by providing robes and slippers. I would certainly recommend the Waypoint House to others and would stay again in the future!
My new husband and I stayed in the Tranquility Suit on our wedding night. Neither of us had visited the Hillbrook before but we're both impressed! They let him check us in a little early to accommodate for our wedding ceremony and the room was so cute! Like a little apartment. A fantastic shower and a fireplace in the wall made our night very cozy and romantic. The grounds are beyond picturesque. We would definitely stay again!
A group of us who had been biking the Great Allegheny Passage stayed here for the night. When we arrived we were welcomed by Selena. She showed us to our beautiful rooms that were clean and charming. Our room had a porch off of it and we all enjoyed a beer on the porch on a comfortable couch and a nice view of the countryside. Our breakfast in the morning was wonderful. We had fruit in a ginger sauce and an egg dish and popover dish. It was just what we needed to restart our journey on the trail. I would highly recommend this B and B .
I stayed for 2 nights with my 3 sisters and we all loved this Inn. We stayed at the Farmhouse in the Sunrise Suite. The room was very large, with big comfy beds and a huge bathroom, big enough for 4 women. The food in the restaurant was amazing, and they accommodated all of our food preferences. The manager was incredibly helpful, always checking with us to make sure our stay was pleasant, and all the employees were incredibly helpful and friendly. The spa services were wonderful, and the whole Inn is just beautiful. I highly recommend this Inn.
I would highly recommend this B&B, very friendly and welcoming!! Elizabeth and Spencer made you feel right at home and I have already recommended the B&B to my family. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Hillbrook very much. We ate dinner at the 6PM hour, the 4 course dinner, and it was very good. Our room, the Fall Cottage, a short walk from the main house, was really nice. It was roomy. We loved the brown and tan and rust colors of the "Fall" cottage decor. It also was quiet and felt very private, even though that building contains 3 other similar "cottage" rooms (each on its own corner of the building). The grounds are beautiful in a rustic, outdoor way. We have stayed at many B&B.com properties in the past, and Hillbrook definitely is in the upper echelon.
We visited the Inn for our 2nd wedding anniversary and it was the perfect getaway from Washington, DC. We stayed in the Sunset Suite about a mile or so from the main house. The rooms were clean, sunny and surrounded by serene farmland. We had breakfast each morning of our stay, which was rich and filling. But before the best treat was a 5-course dinner by candlelight. It was the perfect romantic setting.
This was our 3rd time at Hillbrook. We were very fortunate to get an upgrade because of a last minute cancellation. I was able to avoid going up a lot of stairs because of their kindness. The Bamford Suite was wonderful. The meals as always were absolutely fantastic. We didn't have time to use the spa this time which we really missed, both previous times we had a excellent experience at the spa.
Second stay for us and it doesn't get any better. We were treated like old best friends and there's no way to describe how wonderful staying here is - you just got'ta do it. We stayed in the Manor room and it is no doubt the nicest room we've ever stayed in - bar none. Breakfast was awesome as well. We always seem to hit it off with the other guests and this time was no exception. How can people not be the nicest staying here. Highly recommend.
Stone Manor is the perfect place to stay in wine country! The ambiance is romantic and relaxing, the location is prime for wineries and scenery, and the breakfast is TO DIE FOR!!! Spencer & Beth do an amazing job of making you feel at home! You really can't do any better than Stone Manor!
My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our first trip to the Hillbrook Inn and Spa!! It was recommended by my Dad who has been a regular guest with my stepmother for the past 20 years. We stayed in the spring cottage for 2 nights. All of our meals were absolutely amazing (2 breakfasts and 1, 5-course candlelight dinner)! I highly recommend the Hillbrook Inn and Spa for a wonderful romantic getaway!
The rooms, grounds, & building were beautiful. The staff friendly & helpful. The wine & cheese in the afternoon a nice touch. The breakfast wasn't what we expected. It would have been better if it was more basic.
We thought Stone Manor was mostly a wonderful place to celebrate our 20th anniversary. It is located right in the heart of wine country and there are tons of wineries within 5-10 miles to choose from. Stone Manor is very nicely kept and we enjoyed our room very much. Beth and Spenser, the owners, are generally good people who work hard. The only "small" problems that we had were upon reading prior reviews, we found that they basically give everybody the same speech upon check in and it comes off slightly rehearsed and maybe even a little insincere. We understand that they probably deal with many people but the problem is if other people are writhing in their review what they were told and you hear the same thing upon check in, it doesn't really make you feel all that special. Not that big deal though. Also, we read in prior reviews that we will be told that we will be put into a "Food Coma" with the morning breakfast. Again, we heard this when we sat down for breakfast and the other problem is being put into a "coma" is achieved by OVER eating. The portions were generous (and delicious) but they weren't really enough were you need to loosen your belt upon meal completion. These are very small complaints and we would recommend Stone Manor to anybody who is interested in a little getaway in the future.
We had a great time during our stay at Hillbrook Inn. We loved the property and the room (Summer Cottage) was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. A couple of things that could be improved: The water pressure and temperature in the showers was very difficult to manage - water was either scalding or cold and the pressure was hit or miss. The maid service was spotty - left a coffee cup on the night stand and didn't clean the bathroom very thoroughly. While the food was good and we were so impressed by the fact that they called us to find out our food preferences and allergies, I felt that there could have been healthier options - especially at breakfast. We would definitely come back!
