Built by an original Welsh settler prior to 1720 the house was added to in 1740 and completed in 1791 to create the overall traditional colonial appearance. The oldest part of the house, the "old kitchen" conveys much of the colonial charm and history of the house. Title deeds can be traced back to William Penn in 1681.

A 1769 Georgian brick home located in Independence National Historic Park and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Thomas Bond House was originally built for Dr. Thomas Bond, who co-founded Pennsylvania Hospital, the first public hospital in the US, with Benjamin Franklin. The John Kindig House Bed & Breakfast is a plaster over clapboard farmhouse. Built in 1864 by John Kindig on land purchased in 1792 by his grandfather, the property was used as a diary farm for a time and remained in the Kindig family for most of the 19th century. Today the house is a tasteful blend of antique furnishings, original artwork and up-to-date accommodations.

Germantown, in northwestern Philadelphia, has convenience and charm. Our home, built in 1888, has architectural interest. You will find that commuter trains or highways will whisk you downtown in 25 minutes, but you are only a few blocks from the world's largest urban park for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Many homes date from pre-revolutionary times through the Victorian era. You will find some tourist activities in Germantown as well as many historic and cultural sites downtown.
