Sound Reach Bed & Breakfast

– Guilford, CT

Sound Reach, recently recommended in "The Unofficial Guide to Bed & Breakfasts in New England" (MacMillan), stands on a secluded hilltop that offers a distant view of Long Island Sound on clear days. The park-like grounds are extremely private and no road is visible from the top of our drive. There are perennial gardens, an herb garden, a spacious deck with great views, and a terrace. Dense woods lie beyond us and bring us frequent visitors such as deer and wild turkeys. The land is a birder's delight and wildflowers are exceptional. Hiking/cross-country ski trails are steps away. Sound Reach was built in 1968 by a three-generation team of the Bullard family. The exterior is made of cedar logs and built around a door the Bullards sailed over from London--an antique door four feet wide with a brass lion's head knocker. The interior is spacious and Scandinavian in feel. Central rooms are two stories high with skylights and cathedral ceilings. All rooms in the house have two exposures. Visitors are welcome to use

The B&B at Bartlett Farm

– Guilford, CT

The farmhouse at Bartlett Farm has been in the Bartlett family since it was built in 1784. The house was updated in the 1990’s, while the surrounding farm is a work in progress. Bartlett Farm is active year round, Maple syruping in late winter, maintaining a small market garden, and haying fields throughout the spring and summer and finishing the year with Christmas trees. The farm has a menagerie of animals that require daily care and attention, including Fallow Deer, cows, ducks, chickens and a bison. The common living room has a working fireplace and a TV, where guests can relax before they head out for the evening or when they return. When the weather is warm enough the wrap around porch is a great place for catching up on your reading or just relaxing.

"The Best of the Best Bed & Breakfasts!"

"My husband and I visited the Boardman House B&B for the second time because our first experience at The Boardman B&B was so wonderful, we were anxious to return.. This last experience was just as wonderful as the first, the only thing that was even better on this visit was the weather! The house in itself is a historical journey in European antiques and 19th Century architecure! This home is the finest RESTORATION of a true Victorian mansion! The host and hostess (Mia and Andre') are so gracious and friendly and their hospitality exceeds all expectation! The home is meticulous and the breakfast surpassed all our expectation! We can't wait to return this summer!"
