Antigua Capilla

This is a not-to-be missed experience in San Miguel. In a City of great experiences and hidden treasures, Antigua Capilla is among the best of them. The accommodations are vintage colonial, the food and service exemplary, and the location is prefect for exploring all that San Miguel has to offer. To top it off, proprietors Francisco and Antonieta are a delight; helpful and knowledgeable about all things San Miguel. Rob and MeiLan, SF, CA

Extraordinary bed and breakfast

The perfect place to stay in San Miguel de Allende. Every detail is thoughtful and top notch. Excellent bed with ultra fine bedding, high end bath amenities to enjoy in the oversized shower. Beautiful tile work. Delicious breakfast starting with generous bowl of fruit, followed by a different hot entree each morning. Caring innkeepers with a wealth of information about the city.

Wonderful Stay!

First of all, this place is more beautiful in person than it appears in pictures and that is rare for any establishment. It was extremely clean, comfortable, and also delightful smelling! Yes that is right, I found San Miguel in general to be a wonderful smelling place. Scents seem to be important here... Anyway, there are two items of note for me. One, I follow a strict diet that Antonieta and Francisco had no problem in accommodating. The breakfasts were divine and my necessary adjustments made them no less so. The sauces are made fresh in-house and the variety was wonderful. Second, I got sick while I was there. I had a bad cold which aggravated my asthma and one day it was so bad that I had to stay in my room. But, my room was so beautiful that it really didn't matter to me because I still felt like I was in Mexico. More important, the owners were caring and kind. Antonieta gave me an electric water kettle so that I didn't have to keep going downstairs for tea and Francisco gave me sugar free cough drops (this may have been providence because no sugar is allowed in my diet) to keep me from coughing all day. I especially appreciated these gestures because I was traveling alone. And since I was traveling alone, I also really appreciated how friendly Antonieta was and we had little chats that I enjoyed in the mornings while I ate breakfast. Also, they arranged for a private guide to drive me to Guanajuato and he also acted as a museum docent and translator, stopped anywhere I wanted so that I could take pictures, and he carried my bags when I went shopping. Upon returning to San Miguel de Allende, I would never consider staying anywhere else but Antigua Capilla B&B and would highly recommend it to anyone. (My stay was five days, six nights long and I was in the Santa Clara del Cobre room.)

Our second time this year! From the moment we arrive to this beautiful, immaculately clean home, we experience a sense of peace and well being that cannot be compared to a stay in a hotel. The hosts are always around and together with the staff they do everything to welcome their guests, starting with the yummiest breakfast ever!! Look for direct booking with them for great deals.

Weekend stay was fabulous! Service was excellent, felt like we had total freedom to enjoy, like own home, yet with woncderful service and attention to detail!

Best B&B Ever!

We love San Miguel de Allende and this was our second visit. Staying at Antigua Capilla this time around truly made our vacation special. We were greeted by one of the owners who made us feel very welcome! The B&B is sooo beautiful and the rooftop terrace breathtaking! However, I totally adore our room. The bed was amazing!! Great bathroom too. But the warm smiles of the staff and owners, the level of service and the outstanding breakfasts made our stay at Antigua Capilla so very special!! Cannot wait until our next visit!! You should try it too....
