Solana Boutique B&B is a new hillside bed & breakfast overlooking Playa las Gatas and Zihuatanejo Bay. We have 2 suites, 4 bay-view rooms and 1 garden room. Guests enjoy a stunning view of the bay, 4 beaches, downtown Zihuatanejo and the surrounding Sierra Madre mountains from 6 of the 7 rooms as well as from the refreshing infinity pool, sun deck and communal palapa lounge/bar. The suites at Solana have a king-sized bed as well as a daybed-style sofa to accommodate up to 3 guests. There is also a desk area and a large terrace with hammock and lounge chairs. The en suite bathroom has an outdoor shower surrounded with native plants for added privacy. Solana's bay-view rooms have a queen-sized bed to accommodate up to 2 guests. There is a small desk and private terrace with comfortable adirondack chairs. The ensuite bathroom has a partially open-air shower. The garden room is located towards the back of the property and is a quiet oasis with private patio, queen-sized bed and ensuite bathroom. All rooms at Solana have wifi, a personal safe and custom Mexican linens and handicraft art that collected by the owners during their travels throughout Mexico. Great care was taken during the design process to ensure that the layout of every room takes full advantage of the blissful breezes enjoyed year-round but there are also ceiling fans and A/C for personal comfort. All guests are served a complimentary breakfast each morning that draws on traditional Mexican recipes with international influences and featuring the bounty of Solana's herb, vegetable and fruit gardens. There is also an honor bar available all day and a tapas bar menu available during sunset. The owners live onsite and are available to help create a relaxing and memorable vacation for all guests. The staff can assist with airport transport as well as organizing massages, local tours, cooking classes, boat & fishing tours and restaurant reservations/recommendations.

We have been fortunate to stay twice since they opened in January. We loved it so much the first time, that we came back again a couple of months later and stayed for 10 days! The view is to die for and the setting is so peaceful. The breakfast served daily on the terrace overlooking the bay was delicious and the service was impeccable. The bed was very comfortable and my husband spent a lot of time relaxing in the hammock on the balcony in our room. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay with an outstanding view, this is it! We loved our 2 stays there and look forward to returning again soon.

High on the hill overlooking Zihautanejo Bay, Casa Solana B&B provides the solitude of it's name, an extraordinary view, exceptional service, excellent cuisine & genuine hospitality from hosts Melissa & Sriram & their staff, in a tasteful, contemporary Mexican style property. After touring for two months we found our "special place" in Zihautanejo to celebrate a big birthday (expedited by our generous hosts) while enjoying this peaceful retreat, from the gorgeous infinity pool, palapa lounge, or our personal hammocks of our room, all with the fabulous view, day or night! So much so, that our five day reservation extended to ten, it was so hard to leave. The chef Antonio presented a different hot breakfast every day originating from his & Melissa's family recipes, including made fresh tomatillo jam. Happy hour drinks & snacks (made fresh) were equally delicious. The kitchen was very accommodating for impromptu lunches or dinners when we couldn't tear ourselves away from relaxing. We arrived just in time to enjoy a special "Curry Night" presented beautifully to a full house by Sriram. The property & rooms are immaculate, done tastefully & enhanced by the beauty of fine crafted wood doors & trims, and pieces of genuine Mexican folk art. Great open showers with luxury towels in a tropical jungle setting! We found the location a bonus, being somewhat removed from the touristy hotel zone, requiring a short taxi ride (or 20 min walk) to the nicest beach, La Ropa. One can only get such an amazing view from that perch. All in all, our experience at Casa Solana far exceeded our expectations. They have achieved a 5star from us, offer an incredible value, thanks to our consummate hosts Melissa & Sriram!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We enjoyed meeting you both and celebrating your birthday (with chocolate cake of course) and hope that the remainder of your trip in Mexico is wonderful.

A delicious and creamy Mexican flan with carmelized sauce. Hortencia's flan is a recipe handed down to our cook by his mother.
