Since January 2007, Gelnhausen has claimed the title of geopgraphic centre of the European Union.The exact centre of the European Union can be found on the edge of the city in the most southerly point of the district of Hailer Meerholz-right in the middle of a field. Gelnhausen and its population of 22,000 have much more to offer visitors and can draw on 850 years of history. The city was founded by Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa in 1170 - strategically positoned on the Via Regia, a trade route between the cities of Frankfurt am Main and Leipzig. Gelnhausen is located close to Frankfurt Rhein Main Airport as well as close to Frankfurt City. In our new guestshouse you find 3 bright Studios perfectly suited for family trip as well as for business travellers and and low budget traveller wishing to enjoy an acommodation with an warm atmosphere. All Studios are new and have a small full furnished kitchen with table and chaires. SAT-TV/DVD/Radio/Free Internet Access/Balcony/ BBQ Grill/Bathroom with Shower and WC/Hairdryer /Shampoo/Showergel/Towels etc. Roomrate includes breakfast inside the room. We (my 22 year old son, 12 year old daughter, and myself, the mom!) LOVED our stay at the B&B Kunzmann! Shirley and Martin are so hospitable and very helpful in so many ways. Gelnhausen is a sweet village very near Hanau, and we were happy to be staying outside of a big city for peaceful, quiet sleeping at night. This was not only our first B&B, but it was also the first stop on our 3+ week travels thru Germany...Shirley and Martin set the standard, and for the rest of the trip, my 12 year old daughter would say, "this is ok, but I still like Shirley's better, don't you?" !!! In total we stayed in 7 different B&Bs, and Kunzmann was in the top 2, but by far, the best value. I even emailed Shirley when we returned home and told her to think about raising prices...they deserve it!!

The Kunzmann Family were exellent host during my stay in their guesthouse. Martin and Shirley made us feel welcomed and right at home.I had a fantastic time and Shirley even took us to the local restaurant were we met some of the locals. What a great little village. I definitley recommend anyone traveling near the Frankfurt area.

Love to stay in this beautiful place. Very cosy and clean accommodation close to Frankfurt am Main. Very good hospitality and very friendly. Breakfast was great all german food with homemade marmelade and lots of fruits. The eggs came fresh from the ranch witch is in the same street.The beds are very comfortable and nice bedding.We loved to use the pool on the hot days and enjoyed the fresh made ice cream. We will come back soon.
