Tybee Island Inn Bed and Breakfast

A great bed and breakfast on Tybee island. Close to the beach and local attractions. The staff was great and the breakfast was always outstanding!

I stayed for 5 nights along with my son and two of our friends. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel like family. The owners, Lloyd and Kathy are great and the rooms are wonderful. The chef, Gary, prepares gourmet breakfasts and wonderful desserts daily for afternoon or evening snacking. Gary is the best, he is personable and really cares that the guests are taken care of. He even went and got a birthday cake for me that my son wanted to get for me while we were there. We are already planning our next trip. Wonderful, wonderful!!

We decided to travel to Tybee Island after seeing 'The Last Song'. The Inn is in a gorgeous part of the island far enough away from the shops to be peaceful but close enough to reach on foot. We were visiting during my mother's birthday and I wanted to surprise her with a birthday cake, but the IGA was out of walking distance so the chef offered to go out and get the cake for me while we were out enjoying our day. That is something that in my opinion a large corporation or other hotel/inn would never do for their customers. On top of that there is a delicious home cooked breakfast every morning to go along with the cozy rooms and outstanding service. There are plenty of fantastic places to eat in the surrounding area including the Sugar Shack, North Beach Bar and Grill, and Sundae Cafe. I would without a doubt advise anyone to stay here if they want to enjoy their vacation. I have traveled all over the United States and this is without a doubt the absolute best service and place I've ever traveled to. We are now planning on making a trip here every year.

Tybee Island Inn B&B is an awesome addition to the Tybee Island experience! The staff members there are incredible, super friendly and always willing to help give you great advice on things to do on the Island. My wife and I spent 4 days at the Inn and we miss it already! The breakfast that was served was amazing and was different each morning. Then as an extra added special touch they always had an amazing dessert ready for you to help yourself to in the evening! If you are thinking about experiencing Tybee Island for the 1st time or the 100th time, this is the place to stay!!

The staff was simply wonderful. Top notch breakfasts! Wow! Our room was comfortable and quiet. I could have made it my home. Check out the island tour with guide Dina, she was great. It was a great mini vacation.

Lloyd told us to treat it as if it were our home, and he and the entire staff made us feel as if it were. Warm and open atmosphere on a quiet island -- what more could you ask for in a bed and breakfast? Save some blueberry cobbler for my next trip.

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All staff were very open, warm, welcoming and made us feel a part of this lovely home. Good location for walks to dinner, the Lighthouse and strolls along the beach. Nearby attractions but still felt off the high flow path in a nice neighborhood away from the tourist traffic we experienced further south. We look forward to a second visit to Georgia and will factor a stay back at Tybee Island Inn as a requirement.

Enjoyed the Lighthouse and seafood on Tybee Island. It was only a short drive to Savannah to learn about the history of the area.

A fantastic bed and breakfast! The service was outstanding and the food was great. Garry was knowledgable about the area and provide great customer service. Even when the weather was bad I felt like I was at home. We'll definitely stay here again when we go back to Tybee.

My husband and I wanted to get away from reality for a couple of days, and we couldn't have picked a more suitable location for this purpose. This quaint little Inn is located on Tybee Island, just outside of Savannah. We stayed in the lighthouse room, which had a porch overlooking the beautiful garden of the front yard. The house is very old, circa 1902, but it was kept impeccably clean and tidied. Gary, the innkeeper, was such a delightful gentleman who cooked the most amazing breakfasts each morning! He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed at all times. The bed in our room was extremely comfortable, with the softest sheets and pillows. My husband is prone to tossing and turning, even at home, but he slept though both nights without interruption. The Tybee Island Inn was truly a home away from home, and we are looking forward to our next stay!

My husband and I wanted to go somewhere near/on the beach offseason for our honeymoon. Tybee Island Inn B&B was the perfect spot. The Inn is in the historic Fort Screven district on the north side of the island which is perfect if you want something quieter (which we did). The massive front garden is beautiful with some gorgeous live oaks; we sat out there reading or enjoying a cocktail most evenings of our trip. The staff are incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate requests. Breakfast was always tastey and the afternoon snack is a great little treat. We were leaving before breakfast on our last day and they offered to make us up something to go, which I haven't had happen at other B&Bs I've stayed in. This was the perfect place to retreat too and we will definitely stay here again.

The staff was so nice and very helpful in suggesting things to do and places to see. The breakfast each morning was delicious. A place we will definitely go back to.

We enjoyed our stay! Our room was cozy and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. We also enjoyed the afternoon treats and breakfast. The inn is within walking distance to the beach.

My husband and I were looking for something special to do to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We certainly found something special with Tybee Island Inn! The owners and innkeepers are very gracious and go out of their way to help make their guests comfortable. Lloyd was always ready with suggestions or tips on local attractions, restaurants, and fun things to do. The breakfasts were excellent, and we enjoyed sitting down with the other guests each morning to discuss plans for the day and give each other "reviews" on the local restaurants we had tried. Besides the delicious breakfasts, there is also a lovely treat prepared each afternoon and available for guests to help themselves to, along with coffee and tea. We stayed in the Mermaid Room, which we found to be spacious and comfortable. Our private bathroom was also large and newly renovated. The only negative I could give is that this is the bedroom closest to the lobby, so we could oftentimes hear conversations being held in the lobby area. The beach is only a 5-10 minute walk away from the front door, as well as the Tybee Island Lighthouse. Several restaurants are also within walking distance, or just a few minutes drive away. And of course, historic downtown Savannah is just a 15-minute drive out, or you can take a shuttle into the city. We enjoyed our stay at Tybee Island Inn immensely and would not hesitate recommend it to anyone!

Lloyd was great, but Greg(chef extroidinare) was the gem. He offered Hot dogs cooked on the grill(in the evening) which coincided with our staying in for the evening."Perfect". He responded with a smile(genuine) to every request, which he resolved. The Breakfasts were sooo good. Coffee was great for this coffee snob. Fresh OJ. The weather in March was a bit dodgey, but we lucked out in our days there. It was beautiful, and I could of stayed at the B&B the entire 3 days. My only complaint is the shower in the room. It was one of those prefab "Tiny" showers, which made a cruise ship(shower) look queen size. It was very odd, the shower nozzle pointed at the door and sprayed on the floor while adjusting the temp. No hand held nozzle, which would of alleviated this probem and many more. I WILL be back to this beautiful gem on Tybee. maybe a different room with a "real" shower. LOL Thank you Lloyd.

Very nice place to stay, everyone was so concerned with our comfort from the snacks, breakfast, accomadations etc... Lloyd and Gary where very helpful on places to eat and visit. We could not have asked for a more friendly visit to our first Bed and Breakfast ,

We stayed in the Flamingo room, the only pet friendly room at the Inn. It was really cute and our dog loved it there! The breakfasts were fabulous and the staff was really great!

Great stay! We stayed in the Lighthouse room and left the door open to the Balcony every night to hear the ocean. The food was great in the morning & we enjoyed the fresh baked goodies available during the day. Nice, quiet, relaxing inn and island. We will recommend this place to friends and hope to return one day.

We had a terrific time! The gracious owners, Lloyd and Cathy, along with the marvelous innkeepers, Julie and Gary, were wonderful from sun up to sun down. The inn and grounds are beautiful, and each room very unique and cozy. The 5-star breakfasts were AMAZING ... so delicous and served with love in the making. The daily, mid-afternoon sweet treats were out of this world. Our every need was met with sincere southern charm and humble hospitality.

Our stay was completely wonderful, magical and romantic. The Inn couldn't have been more perfect. The rooms were comfortable and inviting, the sevice was loaded with personal touches and extremely warm. Breakfast was delicious, with a friendly atmoshphere. So far beyond what I expected, can't wait to go back!

JWe thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the TYbee Island Inn. We were met upon arrival and given a quick tour. Help was always around if you encountered a problem (remote TV issue). Our room was the best in the place from what I could tell. Everything was clean and comfortable and made us feel "right at home". The butler pantry offered everything you would need. WOnderful sweets were provided late afternoon and beautiful breakfast each morning. We were there in off season so not a lot going on but we enjoyed the quiet time. Easy walk to lighhouse property and short drive (20 minutes) to Savannah. I would highly recommend.

What a fantastic time we had on Tybee Island and our accommodations at Tybee Island Inn were simply the BEST! Staff is attentive and caring, food was exceptional, the different themed rooms made us smile, sheets soft for sleeping, rooms were quiet and perfect for a good night's sleep. My husband has never been excited about a B & B, and I'm happy to report that after our super time at Tybee Island Inn, he's ready to do it again!! We'll be back!!

We stayed here for our 26th wedding anniversary and enjoyed it immensely. Very relaxing, quiet, and comfortable.

Wonderful few days at Tybee Island Inn. Hospitality was wonderful. We felt like we were home, except that someone made breakfast for us. Loved every minute.

We stayed in the "Flamingo" room, the only room to allow pets. This room is not for the faint of heart. Make sure you read the description! If you are physically challanged in any way, this room is not for you. The room was clean and pleasant. The bath arrangement was different to say the least. The common areas were excellent; nicely appointed and very clean. Breakfast was excellent!! The staff is pleasant and helpful. Be forwarned!! Pets are not allowed on the beach!! If we had known this we would not have brought the dog and could have stayed in one of the upstairs rooms which are excellent. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and plan to return in the future (without the dog!).

Great B&B. very cute, clean and very nice rooms. Super friendly staff, perhaps too friendly after a day of travel. Definitely on the pricey side of things. Breakfast was not all that good and left something to be desired, but maybe I'm just a picky eater. Would recommend it overall as the rooms are great.

Lloyd gave us such personal service and hospitality when we first arrived. Despite rainy weather, we loved our time at Tybee Island in December. We're already planning our next trip this summer!

Best BnB either of us (mom or myself) has ever stayed at. (FYI including BnBs worldwide). Even in December, the gardens were absolutely gorgeous, and everthing inside and out was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Beds and linens were Tip-Top quality and comfort, guest ammenities were plentiful, and the breakfasts and daily homemade goodies were scrumptious! Lloyd was the MOST gracious host, freely helping with ideas on restaurants and activities for the island. I will absolutely, most definitely stay here the next time I'm anywhere near Tybee. Already planning to visit again during the summer months! And I will want to stay again in The Lighthouse Room, up in the trees with the most wonderful deck and view!

This INN is wonderful, no complaints worth mentioning, just a wonderful stay. if you want a stay with a short walk to beach, this is it. Thanks for a great Anniversary

A quick get away for a first anniversary was all we could get and Tybee Island Inn first stay was just what we needed. We will be back! Breakfast by Patti was outstanding!

This was an adorable little Inn. It felt like you were staying with family, very warm and inviting. The rooster is gone now (or at least it did not crow at all). It was a leisurely drive from Savannah (about 20-30 minutes), and very close to the beach, lighthouse, restaurants, and John Mellencamp's abode! This is definitely a relaxation spot and is geared for an older crowd...very quiet. This B&B has exceptional food! We were served a super filling gourmet breakfast each morning and were able to taste a sweet treat each evening. The food here was my favorite part of our vacation.They also took care of making your bed and cleaning the room so you did not have to lift a finger. We stayed in the Dolphin room which was quaint though a little light-blocking in terms of window coverings and a window that led to the stairwell would have been preferred. Also, keep in mind you do not have control over the thermostat at this Inn though they had a fan there to use which did a pretty good job. I will say for us it's best for a weekend trip or to utilize the Groupon deal as we prefer a hotel atmosphere for longer trips and it was a bit on the pricey side without the discount. Keep in mind it's an older building and very quiet so you can hear people from time to time, though overall our stay was really lovely and it was a joy to meet the Inn keepers/ fellowguests.

A great deal! The room we had (Savannah Beach) was large, spacious, and had a very nice bath. The king-size bed was comfortable. A nice friendly atmosphere prevailed throughout our stay. Tybee Island Inn is remote and resides in one of Georgia's most historic areas. Yet it is convenient to the shopping and attractions in the downtown Savannah area. This was out first B&B experience and we were pleasantly surprised. The Tybee Inn is small, but quaint. It was very warm and inviting. What it lacked in size, it certainly made up for in hospitality. Our room was one of the smaller units with a spiral staircase to the bathroom which was really the only setback. However, it was clean and cozy. The owner Lloyd is very knowledgeable in regards to the Tybee and Savannah happenings and eager to assist with any of your needs. Our meals were delightful and looked and tasted like a five star culinary experience. We also were greeted with fresh treats at all hours to welcome us back home. It truly felt like a home away from home and all the guests seemed to enjoy the entire ambiance created. We would love to go back.

Our stay at the Tybee Island Inn was fantastic. The owners were very kind and courteous, always seeking to serve us in any way they could. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again!

Our accomodations were lovely, comfortable, and clean. The balcony off the Lighthouse Room was like being in a treehouse with live oak limbs all around it. Our Innkeeper, Lloyd, was friendly and available whenever needed. Breakfasts were generous and delicious-not to mention the yummy snacks left in the kitchen/snack area every day for guests. The talented cook shared a recipe with me and I count it as a valuable souvenier!

We used their groupon offer, and staying for 2 nights, had to switch rooms. The first night we were in the incredible Captian's Quarters- too huge and wonderful too describe except a spiral staircase, and huge clawfoot copper tub! wow! the 2nd night we were in the Savannah Beach room, which was also lovely. They had towels for the beach, less than a 5 minute walk away, were extremely helpful upon check-in and throughout our stay. High recommend them- we hope to stay again.

We loved the dolphin room at The Tybee Island Inn. It was our first visit to the island and we found it to be very relaxing. The Inn was very clean and comfortable. We are planning a return visit!

We have never stayed at a bed and breakfast this week. We have been totally gluten away with the beautiful scenery, comfortable rooms, and unbelievable hospitality. Lloyd and his wife have created an amazing place for a getaway. Tybee island is a wonderful place to visit but this experience made our trip.

We celebrated our engagement at the Tybee Island Inn and from making the reservations to departure our experience was excellent. We loved Lloyd and all of the staff. The Captains Quarter's are beautiful and you can tell that attention to detail is very important to the InnKeepers.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Tybee Island Inn last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lloyd the Innkeeper was very personable and an excellent host. Our room was the Lighthouse. We spent a lot of time on our balcony which was nestled in the beautiful oak tree. Overall we had a lovely weekend.

A beautiful b&b in a great location. Room was very comfortable, breakfasts were delicious and staff was friendly and helpful. Ate at the Sundae Cafe and had a delicious meal. Rented bikes and enjoyed the bike trail. Will definitely return.

The cottage was quiet and quaint. It was a bit musty. The owners were very nice and accommodating.

From the warm and very helpful, knowledgable host Lloyd to the hearty and tasty breakfast to the comfy rooms (I stayed in Sea Cabin and Dolphin), my last minute trip to Tybee Island Inn was relaxing and easy - just couldn't have been better. And its location in quiet, lovely North beach made it convenient both to strolls along the shore and easy walk to great restaurants (especially Sundae Cafe!). Hope to return!

There was not a single thing we didn’t thoroughly enjoy and appreciate while staying at the Tybee Is;and Inn! Everything was wonderful -- the food, the accommodations, the atmosphere, the advice on dining and sightseeing, and especially the caring hospitality of the staff! We plan on staying there again next year!

We enjoyed sitting on the porch surrounded by the garden was wonderful. Walking to the beach and seeing dolphins on our first night so great. It is a community that makes you feel welcome. My wife and I had a wonderful night's stay in the Dolphin Room. The room was great--soft sheets, cool decor, awesome private balcony, and the inn itself was very charming. Lloyd is a wonderful host and full of insightful recommendations and tips! We were greeted with a delicious blueberry/pineapple cobbler treat and there were big tubs of ice cream in the freezer--perfect for a late night snack! My wife and I had a great time here celebrating our 3rd anniversay. I would highly recommend staying here, and we'll definitely be back!

We stayed at the Pelican Cottage for an extended weekend in early September and it was an interesting experience. Despite the fact that this is 2012, the website only provided written directions to the cottage instead of the actual address, which comes in handy if you are using GPS and have never been to Tybee Island before. We didn't realize that the cottage was located off-site from the actual property, so like fools we drove to the home office and no one was available to direct us to the location. I eventually spoke with a representative from the B&B and she set us on course to the cottage--but it took close to an hour for that to happen. In short, I recommend that the company put the address on the website to clear up any confusion. When we arrived, we were both impressed by the simple yet elegant appeal of the room. It had precisely what was needed for a weekend getaway and was perfect for a couple with a small dog (20 pounds or less). The room scored top marks for overall appearance and cleanliness. In terms of value, I am the first to admit that I know nothing about hotel management and how much to charge for a room, but I don't see how a room that is not actually on the beach can cost upwards of $140 per night. Personally, I liked the room but thought the price was a bit high for the actual, physical location. I rated the dining average because the cottage didn't provide any food. We ate at restaurants on and off the island, so it doesn't seem right to associate their product(s) with the B&B when they have no connection. I'm sure the food at the B&B was excellent. The Pelican Cottage is a wonderful place to spend a weekend. I feel that if its parent company will put the address on the website, or perhaps e-mail it to the next occupants, it will make travel go more smoothly. I recommend staying there if you are in need of a simple place with a good location.

The Inn was absolutely beautiful, the front garden is amazing, the owners and staff are so friendly and helpful, the breakfast and evening snack were so delicious, and the room was very charming, and decorated beautifully. Tybee Island B&B is a spot for vacation! The people are very nice, the service was great! Wendy and Jackie made sure that we felt like home during our stay. We also enjoyed the beach which is about 2 minutes walking from the house. I would definitely recommand this place as a 'weekend getaway'.

My husband and I spent two days/nights in Savannah and two in Tybee Island. We both agreed we should have spent the entire time at Tybee island. Cool, laid back atmosphere and great beaches within walking distance to where we stayed - the Tybee Island Inn. The Inn was a great choice. A nice comfortable room, outstanding breakfasts and service from the innkeeper, Wendy. She was super friendly and really took care of us. The inn provides beach chairs, beach towels and mats, and even sunhats. Relaxing porch and seating in the beautiful shaded garden area was perfect for the time between the beach and dinner. We highly recommend this B&B.

The Tybee Island Inn Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful place. The beach is less than a five-minute walk away, and the Inn even provides beach towels, chairs and hats for your convenience. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. And the breakfast was delicious. I'm very happy I stayed here, and my husband and I plan to stay here in the future.

My wife and I went here for a weekend getaway, and neither of us had been to Tybee before. The overall stay experience was nice, I was impressed with the location and the cleanliness of the room, the island however not so much. I have stayed in St. Simons for most of my life and my wife has stayed in Jekyll alot as well, so we are used to the "old preserved" feel of those islands, and this is not what Tybee was. It was something of a mix between myrtle beach and pananma city, the beaches were beautiful, but it feels like the island was built in the 70's and never renovated. Also, the locals were not that friendly, there was s sign outside the only grocery store that we found on the island that read "34 days till back to normal." We were not sure if they were renovating and i gave them the benefit of the doubt, but when we tried to go in we found out that they were closed at 9, it was about 915, but there was no sign posted with their hours, and the other people with us, also not from the island, were very upset. It did not bother me very much, but for an island that i can only assume gets most of its income from tourism, putting that sign up and not posting hours was not smart. Also, we went to 3 total restaurants, the Fannies on the beach, the marlin monroe's, and the crab shack. The service at both Fannie's, and Marlin Monroes was sub par at best. We went to Fannies for dinner and they were not busy but were super slow, and the staff sat around for most of the time talking and hanging out near the front, and at Marlin's the hostess was on her cell phone and my wife and I waited about 10 min for seating. However, the crab shack was a good experience, I highly recommend it. Overall my stay was nice, and we will consider Tybee again for another weekend getaway.

Stayed in the Lighthouse Room. Loved the little balcony overlooking front yard. Enjoyed the stay very much and would definitely return!

We stayed in the Mermaid Room, which was very spacious and incredibly clean. Breakfast is served every morning at 9 AM and after the first day we found ourselves looking forward to each morning's breakfast surprise. We had baked eggs, homemade blueberry muffins, blueberry glazed french toast, a delectable apple strudel and a piping hot vegetable and egg casserole. We came in from the beach to find different cakes and cookies to snack on in the afternoons as well. All were delicious.

We enjoyed our stay and TII B&B. It was a short walk to the beach and convenient to restaurants. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. The owners were friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Eating at the table with the group was fun.

The Tybee island inn was amazing, the room was very quaint and quiet. the roses i ordered were beautifully displayed in the room upon arival and the staff was so courteous the entire time. the area was amazing also, the inn offers beach access that most places on tybee cant offer. the breakfast was amazing each day better than the one before. i highly recommend the Tybee Island Inn to anyone looking to stay here. You won't be let down by the price or the service.

We always enjoy staying at a B&B with history attached to it. The Tybee Inn has history galore. How about spending the night in a B&B where Gen Marshall came by frequently(Tybee Inn is the former Day Room of the Ft. Screvens Hospital). The Tybee Inn was built in 1902 and you can see the designation by the front door as you enter. Aside from the history the place is just facinating with the 200+ year-old Live Oaks and the moss hanging from the outreached branches. Boy do I men B RANCHES The landscaping is just breathtaking. We loved our stay in their "Captain's Quarters" - very nice B&B, nice owners and a very friendly new Inn Keeper as well.

I can't say enough good things about our time at the Tybee Island Inn. It was my first stay at a bed and breakfast and I chose this one because of the reviews on TripAdvisor, the previous guests were right when rating this wonderful and comfortable place. We stayed in 2 rooms because we were able to extend our stay after the initial reservation was made but the dolphin room wasn't available for our additional nights so we moved to the Savannah room. Both rooms were wonderful, the beds were very comfortable and we fell asleep effortlessly every night. The breakfasts were delicious and the conversation at the breakfast table enhanced the experience. I informed them of our dietary needs upon arrival and they were very accommodating. Lloyd was the best host I could have asked for, he answered any questions we had and offered tips on where to go on the island. Our favorite place was the front porch where we were able to talk to other guests and enjoy the conversations, the breeze and the beautiful garden. Last thing I must comment on is the afternoon treats, do not pass on these they are Delicious!

This was our first experience with a B&B. The location was fabulous and Tybee is a great place to be! The property was charming, but we have little basis for comparison.

The owner's are extremely nice and know the area very well. We went to a place nearby for dinner at their suggestion and it was spectacular! They also provided beach towels for guests use at the beach, something we forgot to pack. Wonderful clean rooms, delicious breakfasts, and an amazing view. Definitely will be going back again! A++

Excellent place to stay on Tybee - fantastic staff (Jackie is amazing) and comfortable surroundings. 2 blocks -easy walk - to the beach. And breakfast at the Inn each day was a treat to the palate and a great way to start the day!

My wife and I recently stayed at Tybee Island Inn for a week long vacation. This was my first time at a bed and breakfast and I must say it far exceeded my expectations. The staff, the room, the food, the hospitality, every single thing about Tybee Island Inn was perfect. This visit to Tybee was a first for my wife and me and it was absolutely beautiful. We are making Tybee our "go to" vacation spot and Tybee Island Inn is definitely where we'll be staying every time. Thank you guys so much for a wonderful and relaxing vacation! The people at the Tybee Island Inn Bed & Breakfast were most accommodating, even before my arrival with prompt answers to my inquiries as to parking and reservation confirmations. Upon my arrival I was greeted by the friendly Inn Keeper, and shown to my room and made most welcome and comfortable. My room was the Sea Cabin off the butler's pantry, and was a perfect space for my stay. I would absolutely want to return and stay in this room again, or any room at this wonderful bed and breakfast. My trip was a short one, and I had to leave before the serving of the 9:00am breakfast (which smelled wonderful as it was cooking), so the staff packed me a snack and offered coffee to travel with me. Therefore, I did not rate the dining, but am sure had I stayed to dine, it would also have been outstanding! Thank you very much for your hospitality, courtesy, and friendship during my short stay. I look forward to coming back to Tybee Island again, and will always plan my stays at the Tybee Island Inn Bed and Breakfast. My only recommendation to travelers using GPS: make sure you enter 24 Van Horne Avenue, and not "Street" as I did, and you will not have problems finding this wonderful Inn. Ron Flax Sumter, S.C.

My husband and I stayed at the Tybee Island Inn June 19th – 21st as a Babymoon getaway. Lloyd the Innkeeper made us feel welcome and went beyond the call of duty. My original reservations were for one night only, but at the last second we decided that we would like to escape a day early. The Flamingo was the only room available and although it is pet friendly, Lloyd worried that it would not be pregnancy friendly, as it features a rather steep spiral staircase leading to the bathroom. I told Lloyd we’d make the best of things and to expect us around nine that evening. We arrived to find a lovely old beach home, situated in a quite spot on the north end of the island, and surrounded by a lush garden. The entire property is guarded by a live oak tree; we loved the property. Our room was pleasing. The staircase was indeed steep, but the room and its location were nice. With a private entrance on the backside of the main house; the room had a feeling of seclusion. It also came with its own private parking lot, which made luggage handling very easy. My favorite part of the room was the loft bath, decorated with a treasure trove of gilded mirrors in different shapes and sizes. The effect was enchanting, sort of a turn of the century boudoir. The second night of our stay we migrated to our originally booked room, the Sea Cabin. I say that we migrated but in fact, WE didn’t. Lloyd migrated our luggage. The Sea Cabin was wonderful. Running along one side of the main house; it features a bedroom, setting room and bath with a nautical theme throughout. We could not have been more pleased. Breakfast both mornings was excellent and plentiful. The first morning we had a spinach quiche, Italian sausage, and blueberry muffins with crème fresh and sliced strawberries. On day two, breakfast was a stuffed French toasted croissant topped with fried apples and a walnut butter, bacon and fresh fruit. There was also a well stocked butler’s pantry which offered various goodies.

This was the first time my wife and I had stayed at a b and b so we didn't really know what to expect. Tybee Island bed and breakfast was a wonderful place to stay. The innkeeper(s) were very friendly and helpful with suggestions on things to do, places to eat, etc. The breakfast was terrific each of our 4 days as well. Great place to stay!!

Charming. Quirky. Friendly. Relaxing. Just what you would expect from a great B&B. I would like to write this for the people like myself that read so many reviews on so many places you start to get confused. Just go with the Tybee Island Inn, you won't regret it, I didn't. It isn't a 5 star hotel, so ignore any reviews that judge it like one. It is a quaint little Inn on the quiet end of the island that provides exactly what one should expect from a B&B. My wife and I will without a doubt be back if we decide to vacation in the area again. They provided an excellent experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

We wish we could have stayed longer. The location was excellent - within walking distance to the beach, the lighthouse and a restaurant. The room was lovely and clean as can be. Kathy, the innkeeper was a wealth of information and so sweet - a great cook to boot! The breakfast was delish. If we are ever in the area again, we will be sure to stay there.

It was hard for us to find (we had never been on the island), but once we arrived we were impressed with the beautiful gardens. Then the beauty continued on to the interior. The breakfast was prepared just as well as any fine dinning establishment, except in a family enviroment. the bed room was comfortable. Overall we were very impressed with Tybee Island Inn and are planning on returning.

Had a very nice stay at the Tybee Island B&B. Stayed in the Savannah Beach room on the main floor that was very quiet. Only issue with the room Is the shower faucet is awkwardly placed on the side of the tub. Kathy the innkeeper and Lloyd the owner are super nice folks. Enjoyed chatting with them. Breakfast was great. Inn is located on the quiet north end of Tybee close to the beach. Short drive into Savannah. Will definately visit again.

My wife and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and could not have asked for a better place to stay. Kathy and Jackie the inn keepers not only are awesome cooks, they were very kind and thoughtful. Kathy made sure to let us know of the wonderful treasures Tybee Island has to offer including dining, sites and how to get around easy and cheap. This was a real blessing for us since we have never been there. We highly recommend to family and friends to visit and we would love to go back soon as well. The house itself is truly charming. We just loved the history behind it as well as the quite time reflecting on our memories on the porch swing.

This place seemed really awesome from all the reviews and pictures and it truly was. I wish we could have stayed more than one night, but even in just one night I can confidently say that you will have a great/unique experience at Tybee Island Inn B&B. Don't hesitate if you're looking for a romantic, peaceful, relaxing and fun get away with that special person in your life.

My husband and I loved our stay at the Tybee Island Inn B&B. The innkeeper was an excellent hostess and cook, preparing delicious cookies and breakfasts each day. The location was nice and quiet. The B&B was close by everything but tucked away far enough that you weren't on the most crowded part of the beach. They provided lots of little relaxing spots to sit around the B&B as well as bikes, beach chairs, towels and sunscreen to use. We were definitely spoiled during our stay and would love to go back again.

Charming Tybee Island Inn is a peaceful retreat a short walk to the beach or lighthouse. Friendly hosts, wonderful breakfasts, afternoon cookies/tea, spotlessly clean rooms, and restful porches make this a perfect B & B, under spreading oaks with dangling Spanish moss. Beach towels, lotion, and sunhats provided for you to enjoy hasslefree beach visits.

The rooms are very unique and nicely decorated. The Live Oak makes the house a special place. The balcony from the Light House room set in the canopy of the tree and was very beautiful and peaceful. Kathy the Inn Keeper was very sweet and helpful with suggestions on where to eat and play. She is an amazing cook and we looked forward to a hot and delicious breakfast every morning. The people who stayed at the Inn makes it a special experience too. We exchanged phone numbers after breakfast and really enjoyed each others company.

Kathy and Jackie went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay at Tybee Island.They were very helpful and fun. The breakfasts they made were unbelievable!

Great service, beautiful garden, great location, super breakfast (thanks, Kathy!). Only downer for us was the Sea Cabin room we were in, which was pretty marginal. But really, no biggie, we weren't there to hang out in the room anyway. Fascinating to walk down officer's row nearby.

The Tybee Island Inn is southern hospitality at its best...from the beautiful courtyard out front to the warmth and kindness inside.The rooms are beautiful and comfortable.We had the pleasure of staying in the Lighthouse room that has its own balcony hidden amongst the magnificent hanging moss lined branches of the beautiful old oak trees that add romance to such a beautiful place.

We stopped by Tybee Island on the way back home from northern Georgia to Ft. Lauderdale. It was a lovely stay....Kathy was very accomidating and friendly....house was homey and relaxing..breakfast was yummy! Very enjoyable placed to stay...other guests were very friendly and the atmosphere was perfect, would love to stay longer next time!

We stayed in the Pelican Cottage and it was much bigger than I expected with a large screened in patio and floating dock which was great for coffee in the mornings or drinks in the evening. The space was clean and neat. Everything worked properly and the staff was very accommodating. I will definitely stay here again!

We loved Tybee Island Inn B&B!! The place is extremely nice and clean and the innkeepers are fabulous. They provide such a welcoming atmosphere and there is a refrigerator for the guests to use and place any of their own food and snacks in. Speaking of snacks, Kathy kept a delicious assortment of snacks out the whole time and we had to pass these tempting snacks every time that we came in or out of our room. Needless to say between us and the other guests they never went to waste. Kathy also makes an incredible breakfast that you will love. The outside area of the B&B is also gorgeous as you will see from the pictures. That old tree that hangs over the entire front yard with the spanish moss growing from it is incredible. We really enjoyed the front porch and swing, as well as the gazebo. One more great thing about this B&B is it's location. You literally only have to walk a couple hundred yards to the beach which made it great to wake up and walk down to the beach every morning to catch the sunrise. You will love this place!

Stay here rather than in downtown Savannah (though we were there off season - might not be so charming when crammed full of beach-goers). Friendly, funky and fun. They need a better breakfast chef, but food was certainly ok. Go to North Beach Grill (near the lighthouse) for an excellent informal dinner.

My husband and I stayed in the Dolphin room. The room was beautiful and had a lot more room than we first thought. Cathy, in the innkeeper, was always there with a smile and a warm greeting. We look forward to returning to Tybee Island Inn again. Thanks for everything!

We absolutely loved staying here! The "Captains Quarters" were so unique and interesting that we found something to talk about every day. The decor will captivate you and have you asking questions to the innkeeper. I don't want to take away from your stay, so it's my secret. Just make sure you really look at everything from the doors, to the things hanging on the walls, everything has its own story. We trully enjoyed time with the innkeeper and her breakfasts were outstanding, with plenty to go around! We can't wait to come back and stay for awhile longer. My only complaint was, we weren't here longer.

Innkeeper on phone at first denied being part of 2nd night free program, but after I read the entry in the B&B Book, he said he would honor it (and did, with no further problem). I chose the best available room (I thought) but was chagrined to realize the bathroom was reachable only by climbing a treacherous tightly winding metal staircase....the room itself was in the basement.. This should have been made clear before I arrived. All else was nicely done, but this property is not up to the usual standards found in the Historical Inns B&B Book, especially as we paid over $200 .

Cathy made us comfortable from the start. Her breakfasts were tasty and appealing to the eye. A very pleasant place inside and out.

We enjoyed our stay at the Tybee Island Inn with a Groupon. Although it was very pleasant and comfortable, it lacked the luxury expected at the full price. We would definitely return with another Groupon. The public areas were nice, and we especially enjoyed access to the small kitchen which contained homemade cookies, coffee, ice cream, etc. Breakfast was delicious. The Innkeeper went out of her way to make sure that we had anything we needed or wanted. We felt like we were visiting old friends. One of the best things about our stay was how quiet and relaxing it was. We stayed in the Sea Cabin room for 2 nights. The unusual room was very narrow and long. Pictures on the website are accurate. Our room was quite warm, but we were able to open the windows and sleep with a wonderful breeze. There is a large tub, but the shower is quite small. At first we were concerned about noise since the room opens directly from the guest kitchen, but this was never a problem. Tybee beach is only a few minutes away, and it is an easy walk down to the lighthouse and a beachfront "cafe". There are beautiful homes in the area making for very pleasant walks. We also spent a lot of time just sitting on the porch or at the tables in the front garden under the huge Oak tree. This was a gorgeous setting.

We stayed in the Flamingo Room. It was much smaller than pictured. We knew there was a spiral staircase up to the bathroom but the shower is right at the foot of the landing and the separate toilet/sink area up there is in an area the size of a tiny closet and situated so that it was virtually impossible to stand in front of the sink. The fireplace was a nice idea but there was only a small chair next to it, so only one person could sit by it so we didn't use it. A small loveseat would be a much better idea. There was no where else to sit in the room and the only way to talk, watch TV or play cards or a board game was to lie on the bed. The TV was tiny and "vintage". Everything in the room was tiny. We joked it was a room for hobbits. The private, separate entrance/patio area was nice - a little dark and damp feeling. The B&B common areas inside are nice and the gardens are really lovely. We saw a couple of the other rooms which were much, much, nicer than ours. All in all, I think this particular room is overpriced and not a good value. Breakfast was ok - not exceptional. Kitchen adequately stocked - coffee, tea, cookies, ice cream, etc., wineglasses. The manager is very nice. Loved Tybee Island.

We were there Feb 13-15. The weather was chilly and gloomy, our experience was warm and cheery. Our room was just what we wanted. Kathy made us feel like we were long time friends, going out of her way to make sure we had everything we need and more. We wanted to stay a few days more unfortuneately they were no room availbe for an extended stay .We are looking forward to our next visit. Thanks again Sandy and Ron

This was a fabulous bed and breakfast. Spacious room, comfortable bed, everything was spotless. The breakfasts, made by Kathy were delicious - I can still taste that blueberry french toast!!!! This was a gift from our children for two nights, we will definitely be going back and for more than two nights!!! Kathy's warm and bubbly personality added to the appeal of this inn. The weather was beautiful, and we biked around the island. Bike rentals were delivered right to the front door!! Thank you again for making our trip wonderful. Judy and Gene Caputo

We could have not gotten better rooms or service here. Everything was beautiful & we would sure come again. This bed & breakfast sure gets the thumbs up as well as A+++ from my daughter & I! The 5 minute walk to the beach was awesome, we got to see everything going on around Tybee Island plus it was all so close. I think our favorite experience was simply sitting on the porch & gazebo under those majestic live oaks! Beautiful place to simply relax! Thanks Kathy & Jackie for your making us feel at home. Only negative thing I can say is I wish we had a longer time to stay!

Everything from the charming grounds to the wonderful rooms to the great care Kathy and Jackie took of all their guests was above reproach. We will definitely be making a return trips to Tybee Island and the Inn will always be our first choice.

We spent the weekend at the Tybee Island Inn. The front garden is beautiful. The Flamingo room we stayed in has it's own entrance, we liked this. Would recommend it to anyone.

This B&B is idyllic! Just a block from the beach in a most lovely setting. Kathy gives a warm welcome, sharing information of nearby restaurants and nice to know insider details. The rooms are well appointed. Despite being a 'house' there was no disturbance of noise from other rooms. As beautiful and inviting as the front yard is, it's almost difficult to leave for the beach or tours of the lighthouse and Ft. Pulaski. The breakfasts were delicious showing thought and care. One of the first things asked was if there were food preferences or allergies which indicates concern and a willingness to accommodate special circumstance.

The Inn is just a perfect getaway. Plenty of places to read a book. The massive oak with the moss hanging down is just gorgeous and really adds to the charm of the inn. The service is was great and breakfasts were very good. Coming in after a days outing to fresh baked goodies, added to the charm.

Only issue was upstairs bathroom in the Captains Quarters room

We had a Groupon for our stay at Tybee B&B so it was a good value. Probably wouldn't have paid the full fare. A charming B&B, good location and good breakfast.

Kathy was very comfortable to deal with and very friendly! Made us feel "at home"! Would definitely come back! The whole Tybee Island community was beautiful! Food was great, fellowship was great, accomodations were great! Thank you Tybee Island Inn!

We felt so at home here. The building is old and historic but well kept, and the garden is lovely. We stayed in the Captain's Quarters, a beautiful room with a very comfy bed, but, it does have physical barriers, especially the steep staircase to get to the bathroom, so I would not recommend it if you are older (we are latter 60's) or if you have any sort of physical limitations at all. One of the other rooms would be a much better choice. Kathy, the inkeeper, is just wonderful! She and Jackie work hard to make everybody feel at home and comfortable. The food is good, the daily treats are truly treats, and the coffee is always on. When staying on Tybee , I do think that you would regret not having a car, even if only to get to and from the airport. Don't miss taking at least one long walk on the beach.

First time at a B & B and was very happy with our stay, will do it again

Staff were friendly, engaging and helpful..Breakfast was delicious. The Inn is centrally located and the grounds were a sanctuary. We were very comfortable and the stay felt like being at home.

Lovely Inn and lovely people. One draw back. If you are older (we are) you might want to think twice about the Captains Quarters as it requires climbing stairs for the bathroom.

Relatives had invited us to eat breakfast with them, so we did not get to sample the breakfast items. However, we did get to enjoy beverages and the special homemade snacks provided. Kathy, the innkeeper, was very welcoming, telling my husband about some of the nearby landmarks and providing me with information about some of the local stores. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and look forward to a return visit in the future.

Inn is away from the crowds on Tybee Island but jammed in between 2 nursing homes. Rooms were fine but waaaayyy overpriced.

I had a wonderful time at this little inn! The room (Lighthouse) was lovely, very cozy and comfortable. The service was excellent and breakfast was wonderful! It is a bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion. Staff is very knowledgeable about Tybee and Savannah area. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone!

My wife & I stayed in the Captain's Quarters room at the Tybee Island Inn from November 7th - 10th, 2011. We had an incredibly positive experience at the inn and on the island in general. Kathy, the inn keeper, greeted us our first day and told us everything we needed to know about the house & Tybee. She was extremely friendly and more than happy to provide us with suggestions for sightseeing and directions. She offered to keep our breakfast warm incase we didn't make the 9 am meal time, but the breakfasts were so good we never missed one anyway. Our room and the common areas were extremely clean. The owners & other guests were all very friendly, too. The island is a great time. We visited during the slow season (it's too cold for the locals to go in the water in Oct/Nov, but it's almost as warm as the ocean water in New England in the hottest months of the summer). We felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Nearly everything on Tybee is walking distance. If you have one too many Porch Punches at the Tybee Island Social Club, you can get a $3 cab/golf cart ride anywhere on the island. I can't say enough good things about the Tybee Island Inn and the island. We will almost definitely be returning in the near future! PS - Servicemembers should ask Lloyd for a military discount, he really took care of us.

I don't think I have relaxed that well in a long time. It was just so peaceful and the staff was very accomodating.

i stayed in the savannah beach room. i really felt welcomed and at home; and the innkeeper, kathy, was terrific. the inn was charming and located nicely for a peaceful run. the only addition i would make is fluffy towels. at over $200/nite, i felt my stay warranted softer/fresher/newer towels. thank you for the personal touch kathy!

Quiet little piece of Tybee Island under the beautiful oaks with a magnificant garden. I cannot wait to return and stay in another charming room. Even the breaksfasts were original and delicious!!

The Tybee Island Inn is located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the beach. Beach luxuries are readily available. Inn keepers are very friendly and helpful. The property is landscaped with gardens, fountains, boardwalks and stones paths with Spanish Moss draping all the trees. Shops, restaurants and sites are very close and can be enjoyed by all.

The innkeeper went out of her way to make our stay memorable, meeting special requests AND baking cookies for us!

Our room was the Sea Cabin and was very comfortable. Our innkeeper, Kathy, was very gracious and accommodating. Excellent breakfasts. Enjoyed the company of the other guests. The location of the Inn made it easy to get around the island. We would love to return when the weather is warmer to enjoy the beach. Would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful place to relax! Loved our stay at Tybee Island Inn BB. The staff was wonderful and helpful. We enjoyed the lighthouse tour and beach. The afternoon goodies were great also. We even took a nap in the front!

The B&B was really lovely and well maintained. The innkeepers were smart to include little things that make a big difference, such as, a kitchen area available to guests, internet access with wifi, and magazines. They also provided things you may not think to pack, such as beach chairs and bug spray. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of leftovers for second and third helpings.

A great place to stay and the food is awesome! Great location, short walk to the beach and wonderful grounds. Couldn;t have asked for a better stay.

The Captains Quarters was an awesome room, two tv's, surround sound, separate entrance and pet friendly. I have no complaints and I really like how it is just a five minute walk away from the beach. There is absolutely not one bad place to eat on the island but I especially like Fannies just right across from the beach.

It was a great place to get-away...and only a block from the beach. Very convenient location...and quiet! The Innkeepers, Jackie and Kathy, could not have been nicer.

I was able to get a room at the last minute. It was surprise 15th anniversary treat for my wife. We were able to have friends keep the kids for two nights. I requested if a picnic lunch could be set up for additional fee. Kathy kept it very discreet because she knew it was a surprise. She prepared a cooler full of food - an excellent vegetarian sandwich, fruits, cracker, dip, and champaign. Instead of going to the beach, we decided to stay at the garden in front of the B&B on such a hot day. It was very peaceful and probably THE best B&B we stayed at...

Had a great time and can't wait until we can visit again. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good.

The level of service and empathy. On all levels was the best service we have ever had. We have been comimg for years. My only complaint would be that we haven't come as much as we would like to because of the age limit on children. We have a 3 year old and can't come as much, and have to stay at other hotels because of this we would be Much happier and feel more at home if we could stay there with our 3 yr. Old.

The Tybee Inn Bed and Breakfast is not clsoe to the main shopping area -- which is a good thing. It's in a quiet neighborhood and a very short walk to the beach. Kathy was a great host and offered to make us sandwiches to take with us on a very very early morning flight. When our flight was delayed she made us a nice breakfast before we left the inn. Nice service. The rooms while clean and comfortable didn't have a specific designed look -- not victorian for instance. I just wasn't wowed by the room. But dont let that deter you. If you're looking for a nice place to stay away from the more commercial restaurant/shop area on Tybisa stay here and dine at North Beach Bar & Grill.

We actually searched for a bed and breadfast to stay in on a whim. We were pleasantly pleased at the Innkeeper's wonderful personality, and the accommodations! As soon as we found the place, walking up to the beautiful inn was a pleasant oasis in the front yard. It was so peaceful and inviting! We felt really welcomed, and every possible need was met! Even ones we didnt know we had! And the best part is this place is so close you can literally walk to the beach in less that 5 minutes! And the beach was SO wonderful and very secluded! Its SO worth a repeat! Actually, we have loved the inn and the place so much that we will be moving there just as soon as we can. However until then, we will be going back to visit Kathy, the Innkeeper, and this Inn!

Took care of special dietary needs of my party without a problem. Room was very comfortable, deck overlooking front of house still has us talking. Friendly folks, lovely visit. Hope to come back.

My husband and I stayed in the Mermaid Room and loved the decor. The bed was absolutely one of the best I've sleep while traveling. The B&B was quite and our host was wonderful.

I stayed and the Tybee Island Inn over the weekend of my wedding, we had a great time getting ready on Saturday in the very large Captain's Quarters and my husband and I enjoyed our wedding night in privacy as well!

Lovely stay and the owner Kathy was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was great!
