The 1884 Paxton House Inn is a landmark Gothic Victorian home located in a National Register of Historic Places neighborhood and is within walking distance of the beautifully restored historic downtown, museums,restaurants and historic sites. This architecturally unique home was completely restored in 2001 and received local and state outstanding preservations awards. The house boasts a splendid wrap around veranda and gazebo set with rockers, heart pine floors, circular staircase and twelve fireplaces. The remarkable craftmanship has been maintained in each of our guestrooms, which have been completely equipped for our guests of today. Our guests can experience the grandeur of the 18th Century today in a upscale timeless treasure. This property offers large, spacious rooms and suites with thirteen-foot ceilings. This two acre garden-like estate offers four lodging properties, including an indoor heated lap pool and Jacuzzi. The Inn is decorated with designer fabrics, furnished with antiques, classic reproductions and collectibles from around the world. Our guests may stroll through the gardens, view the flowers, swing under the trees, pick in-season fresh fruit, take pictures under the rose arbor, or relax and be pampered by our well trained staff. Afternoon tea and lemonade social with tour of Museum and lecture on a featured collection the first and third Thursday. Light Tea Monday, Thursday and Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

      We have a standard Seven (7) day cancellation policy except for peak two-day minimum stays. These are special dates and we will tell you at the time of your reservation if the dates of your stay are considered to be peak times. These dates require a Thirty (30) day cancellation and the payment for the two-day stay is required at the time of the reservation. (Payment is Non-refundable if policy is not strictly adhered to and cancellation is not done in the time-frame allowed for the chosen dates. When reserving multiple rooms, half of the total rate will be charged at that time. This is non-refundable if cancellation policy is not followed. A standard $20.00 cancellation fee will be charged to offset service charges.

    The most elegant, relaxing and unforgettable retreat with 13- foot ceilings and bay window that will both inspire and refresh. This richly decorated suite boasts a king size plantation, 4-poster mahogany bed. Deep wines, calming blues, and tranquil crèmes form a haven of your very own.  The ornamental fireplaces are adorned with the original millwork and are accented with prints by Ford Riley.  Rare collections from around the world compliment both the bedroom and the adjoining sitting room.  This suite hosts two complete baths, his and hers.  The Victorian footed tub/shower will offer all the joy in life you truly deserve. The entire suite has upscale designer fabrics from the Henry Ford Museum CollectionStep into another era when you enter this beautiful suite with two ornamental fireplaces and 13-foot ceilings. Filled with European Art Collections and decorated with designer fabrics. A queen size pencil-post canopied bed welcomes you and entices you to stay. The sitting room has a lovely 18th Century style love seat and chair as well as entertainment center and museum quality porcelains. 

The spacious bath enchants with an antique footed tub/shower, full length mirror and bead board walls.  The second story windows overlook the picturesque, upscale neighborhood.

Also a lovely queen canopied bed in the adjoining bedroom, which possesses a grand selection of books just perfect for settling down after a busy day. Original windows overlook the entire estate. Each room features special touches as unique as every guest. 
 One of our most private guest accommodations beckons you. This grand cottage stands alone in the manicured garden.  Surround yourself in the luxury of a king size plantation bed, plush robes, or retire to your upscale bath with 7ft soaking tub.  This very private suite contains a wet bar/stocked refrigerator, entertainment center and many other amenities. Designer fabrics, custom made bed and window treatments and 10-foot ceilings enhance this spacious, comfortable, and totally romantic hideaway. 
  
 
 Relax and renew your spirit on your private rocking porch with ceiling fan or share walks down moonlit pathways throughout our estate
    Our most luxurious accommodation suited for that very special occasion. The regal furnishings  are reminiscent of the bygone plantation era.  This suite contains a 12-foot vaulted ceiling, boast a king size mahogany plantation bed, entertainment center, sound spa, wet bar and stocked refrigerator. After dinner you can choose to relax in the whirlpool tub, soak in the Jacuzzi, or go for a private swim in the indoor heated lap pool. If you still need more relaxation you can rock on your private porch or take a stroll down our moonlit garden paths.The ultimate relaxation and restoration!  If you are here for business or pleasure, you should take the opportunity to swim laps in this heated pool or calm your battered senses in our hot tub.  Private use between 9p.m until 9a.m when you reserve the Pool House Suite.
    Relax and lose yourself in the romance of this beautiful Gazebo.  In the evenings, spend a few moments with the owner/innkeeper and learn the history of the Inn and how it came to be.  Stroll around the estate along moonlit paths,  just sit and enjoy each other, or unwind from a busy day.   Rise early and enjoy coffee or read the newspaper.  This is a lovely morning spot to watch birds and squirrels.  Ceiling fan and inset lights enhance your relaxation.The Garden Room, where your breakfast is served on fine china with crystal and silver has a splendid view of the grounds.  Restore yourself with fresh baked breads, wonderful egg dishes and the best of fruits.  At your own private table feel at home yet pampered beyond your imagination as you are served each course fresh from the kitchen by our ever attentive staff.
    This tight staircase is a wonderful accent to the entrance of 1884 Paxton House Inn.
