The Lodge on Little St. Simons Island has received much acclaim including: No. 1 Resort in the Mainland U.S. by Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards 2007, “Gold List” by Condé Nast Traveler 2013, No 7 Resort in the South by Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2012.

The Staff, the Location, the Food. Those are the best things about Little St. Simons Island. This out of the way getaway is well worth the effort to get there because once you're there you never want to leave. When you do, you keep coming back. We have for over 8 years now, whenever we can we plan another escape the friendly atmosphere and accommodating Staff, beautiful beach, and the deliciously prepared meals. Once you're there you've got to go back, it's that good!

We loved it! If you are not into birds, reptiles, surf fishing and being disconnected, then this place is not for you. The food is expertly prepared and I wish I had purchased the cookbook. We loved the isolation and easy pace.

We loved every minute of our stay at Little St. Simons Island. Every person on staff knew our names, knew my dining preferences (vegetarian) they just took care of every little thing down to the tiniest detail so we didn't have a care in the world. Our adventures on the island exceeded all of our expectations! We encountered: alligators, crabs, numerous birds, deer, raccoons, etc as we biked and hiked each day. The guides were wonderful!! My favorite was biking the beach at low tide with new-found friends that we met during our stay. Meals were delicious and entertaining served family-style. Gourmet and satisfying. I can't say enough good things about LSSI. We've never experienced a vacation like this. You must go. You simply must.

April 19-22, 2015 Join naturalist and author Scott Weidensaul for a special session devoted to the miracle of bird migration — and enjoy the peak of spring migration, when the island is swarming with hordes of colorful migrating birds. Weidensaul is the author of more than two dozen books on nature, including the Pulitzer Prize finalist "Living on the Wind: Across the Hemisphere with Migrating Birds," and he is an active field researcher, studying the migration of hawks, hummingbirds and owls. In field trips and evening lectures, you'll explore the dynamics and mechanics of bird migration firsthand, learning how the birds that fill the beaches and forests here are able to travel the globe and find their way. You'll learn about the conservation challenges facing migrants, and how changes in our every day lives (including the kind of coffee we serve on Little St. Simons Island) can make a big difference for migratory birds. And you can work on your bird identification skills with Weidensaul and the island's staff of naturalist guides at your side. $1875 three-night package. Add fourth night at half-off. All packages are priced per couple, double-occupancy.
