The Skelton House

it's a joy to get to spend time at the Skelton House. I'll be back! and have sent others.

My wife and I went to Hartwell to view lake property for the day. We stayed at The Skelton House on a lark. Service was great, Local info was outstanding, and the breakfast was Absolutely Delicious. John should devolt one page of his website to his breakfast.

Excellent service, quiet, great room, outstanding breakfast

We enjoyed our stay immensely at this beautifully renovated home. The owner was extremely welcoming and accommodating above and beyond our expectations. The home and the grounds are beautiful and peaceful. After an evening of rocking chairs on the upper patio and a great night's rest, we were treated to a truly amazing breakfast. We highly recommend this location to anyone passing through or staying in the area.

Joan and I arrived on Friday and spent two nights. The house is in excellent condition. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast John prepares is delicious. Everything worked as it should - no problems. If you are planning to stay anywhere around Hartwell, make a reservation with John - You will be glad you did. John manages the Inn with a delightful old cat named Pooh (as in Winnie the Pooh). I have already scheduled another stay next year - to visit John and Pooh and enjoy this beautiful old house.

Everything about our stay was top notch. John was friendly, helpful, and the house was everything a B&B out to be. I'd definitely return!

We stayed at the Skelton House for Thansgiving this year! It was a wonderful experience Very warm and comfortable accomodations. The breakfast was homemade, gourmet, and delicious! The service couldn't have been better. Very happy with the experience! Recommend the Skelton House in Hartwell Georgia highly!!!

Mr. Skelton and his two cats made us feel at home. He was so gracious and personable, and genuinely seemed to enjoy us being there. His culinary skills were top notch, and enjoyed our appreciation of his finest choices. Our hats off to his efforts.

We have been to the Skelton house three times now and always have a lovely time. The hospitality is wonderful along with the rooms and breakfast. We are look forward to coming back again next year!

My husband and I stayed at the Skelton House with some friends, we were competing in a local triathlon. This was the perfect place to stay, the home is beautiful, our room was absolutely lovely, we loved the resident kitties, especially CiCi. Host were most gracious and helpful regarding local information. Rooms cofortable and clean. House and grounds interesting. Locale good. Food superb. Needed more hot water in shower.

A circulator pump on our hot water heater failed overnight. This caused a slight delay in delivering hot water to our seven guestrooms. The volume or temperature of hot water produced from our 100 gallon natural gas fueled water heater was not affected. A new pump was installed within 48 hours and everyone had immediate access to hot water again.

A charming B&B in the lovely southern tradition. The innkeepers were delightful, the food was excellent, and the accommodations were lovely.

For being at a B&B for the first time, Ruth and John had made our stay beyond wonderful. now I'm addicted and can't wait to visit another B&B. We didn't want to leave the Skelton House.

Having stayed at B&B's from Alabama to Maine, these are the ownersyou will remember because of their true southern hospitality and famous country cooking. How lucky we were that the Asheville b&bs were full.

Loved the experience of being a guest at the Skelton House. Ruth and John welcomed us graciously, even when we had some unforeseen difficulties in arrival. Food was superb, Parke room was cozy and private, just what we needed. Having our daughters join us for breakfast was memorable!!

Ruth & John Skelton are hosts in every sense of the word. They truly care about their guests. Parke's Room is magnificent and the large whirlpool tub is actually big enough for two. You won't regret spending a night here, and breakfast is outstanding. Give Skelton House a try! You'll be glad you did.
