The Lodge on Apple Pie Ridge

Well, that's how we felt after just a few hours with Judy and Max. It doesn't take long to realize that this B & B was created for the comfort and enjoyment of each guest that comes through its doors. It's been two months since our four night visit and we still talk about Judy's cooking and how the Chosewood's made us feel like family. We can't wait for our next visit in December. We stayed in this stunning B&B in northern Georgia just a couple of weeks ago. The hosts, Max and Judy, are the most hospitable we ever met and Judy's desserts and breakfasts are probably better than those cooked by Paula Dean! We enjoyed two generous breakfasts and did not need lunch on those days. We were in the Winesap room, which is the only one on the terrace level...very beautiful, private, comfortable with a private patio. If we are ever in this area again, we KNOW where to stay!

Our daughter was looking for an outdoor wedding venue when she found The Lodge on Applie Pie Ridge. We found The Lodge to be a perfect outdoor setting for such an event. Max and Judy went out of their way to make sure The Lodge was perfect for this special event. Not only did The Lodge provide the perfect setting for a fall outdoor wedding, but family members got the joy of enjoying a wonderful relaxing time staying in The Lodge for a couple of days. I've stayed in many 4-5 star hotels around the world and can assure you your visit to The Lodge is on par with any 4-5 star hotel amenities....plus you get the wonderful benefit of visiting with two great people, Max & Judy who made us feel like family. We highly recommend The Lodge for quiet get-aways or for special events, like our daughter's wedding celebration. We have stayed in B abd B's from New York State to Florida and this inn is the best by far. We were welcomed by Judy as soon as we arrived and shown around the entire lodge (something I've wanted to do at other inns but have never been offered the opportunity). Then we were taken to our room on the lower level which was very private and left to enjoy the afternoon. Both Max and Judy knew exactly when we wanted companionship and when we preferred to be left to ourselves. They are both wonderful and very interesting people and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing stories and experiences with them each evening. The food was phenomenal and all homemade and the atmosphere was very relaxing and homey. We would gladly recommend this beautiful lodge to anyone who needs to get away and relax among friends. This B&B should be the standard that others are measured against! I prefer to stay at B&Bs instead of hotels/motels, and this is the best one I have every stayed in. Max and Judy's easy friendliness is so engaging, but their attention to detail and care for their guests' needs is outstanding. Put this B&B at the top of your list if you want a place where roomy lodgings and wonderful homemade food and friendly conversation are what you crave.

Stopped in for one night for a quick little getaway from the city, and we were truly overwhelmed with a perfect little Bed&Breakfast. Judy and Max are the ideal hosts and welcome you as they would old friends from the moment you arrive. The rooms are clean and cozy, the views are splendid and the house itself is absolutely stunning. Judy cooks an absolutely amazing and hearty breakfast. We will definitely be returning and happily recommend the Lodge to anyone needing a perfect little getaway.

This was our 4th visit to this wonderful place & we are already planning another. Max & Judy made us feel like family the 1st time we visited and we just love to sit by the fireplace & hear Max tell his stories & have alot of good laughs. We love the afternoon snacks not to mention Judy's home cakes at night & the wonderful breakfast the next morning. The place is just so peaceful & quiet and AAA decorated and 1st class service all the way. If you have never been you are missing a beautiful place with special care & service by the best Inn Keepers there are.

OK ... you can read a lot of reviews and I have written some ... the best way for you to experience this fantastic property is to visit ... stay at least two nights ... you will have a fabulous visit ... then you will know that all the words you write can never adequately express the feelings you will enjoy while there. Max and Judy are two spectacular human beings, as your host and hostess, the likes of which you probably have not experienced before. There will be many highlights during your stay. Do not hesitate ... JUST GO! You will be richly rewarded ... then you can spread the word.

We are forever spoiled! After years of looking at the Lodge online and wondering if we would ever get to stay there, this fall our dreams were finally realized. It's such a heavenly place, both elegant and welcoming. It's beautifully built with great attention to detail. The perch on the top of the ridge makes it so peaceful and serene... you'll have a lot of "ahhh" moments! Especially when you're having your morning beverage and watching the deer play in the field below. The rooms are beautiful and fastidiously clean, breakfast is a feast, evening dessert....decadent. And don't forget the afternoon snacks and soft drinks, water, chips and cookies that are always available. However, the best thing is getting to know your hosts, Max and Judy. Warmer, kinder, more genuine folks you'll never meet. If we never go back (perish the thought) we will always remember how they made us feel like family, honestly. Judy & Max are wonderful and friendly host! The breakfast are superb and my favorite 5 o'clock item is when Judy serves coffee and chocolate cake...mmmmm... The views are fabulous and I love to go watch the deer graze. You can have a quiet alone time or a sit and chat time. This place is the best of both worlds. Shopping and dinning is great and close by and The Lodge on Apple Pie Ridge is our go to spot when we need a great get away! Also it is the perfect place for a wedding!!! My wife and I spent our anniversary at The Lodge. The view as you enter the driveway is breathtaking and the surrounding acreage is marvelous. Judy and Max were excellent hosts and provided us with as much privacy as we desired. You will want for nothing since they are there to make your visit a "perfect getaway"

This was the first stay at a bed and breakfast for my husband and me. We never really wanted to go to one before. Now, we are looking forward to going back to visit Max and Judy, drinking some of her delicious peach tea, and savoring another absolutely delicious breakfast. The breakfast she prepared was the best breakfast I've ever eaten. We will go again and have recommended that our friends go too.

We enjoyed meeting Max and Judy. We talked to them for hours. By the time we left, it felt as if we were leaving old friends. They pampered us and made us feel so special. They were excellent hosts. And the lodge is gorgeous. We will definitely go back. I recommend this B&B to all my friends.

Max and Judy make us feel right at home when we stay at their B&B. We have been there several times and always look forward to our next stay here. Judy is a wonderful cook as well - her banana nut muffins and peach tea are wonderful! I recommend to all my friends/family to stay here once and you will absolutely love it!

I surprised my wife with a week-end at the Lodge on our 30th wedding aniversary. Max and Judy were excellent hosts and made it a very pleasant memory for us. I recommend it to everyone. Max & Judy are the perfect hosts. We felt so very comfortable, and enjoyed the evening visits with both of them and Judy outdid herself with the huge breakfasts! looking for a good location to review the fall colors. found paradise. was greeted by judy with a complete tour and history of the property. max appeared on the secene and soon we were enjoying the delicious snacks prepared by judy. bedtime snacks followed and by 10 o'clock i had talked max and judy to sleep. next morning woke to the smell of fresh brewed coffee and bacon frying. just what a country boy enjoys. ate to i was full and judy kept offering me more . if you are looking for a very nice place to escape from the rat race, this is it . jim& nan

What a wonderful home. Within minutes, the guests were all sitting around the table drinking fresh coffee, eating homemade pecan pie and talking like we've known each other for years. It was my wife and I last get-away before settling down to have a baby! We absolutely enjoyed everything about The Lodge on Apple Pie Ridge. The breakfasts were made from scratch and so nice to wake up to. Max and Judy also provided evening snacks and tea - great while reading or playing board games. While there in the fall, we visited the "great" Tellulah gorge when the leave were at their peak. We couldn't have asked for anything more picturesque. Anyway, you can't go wrong with "The Lodge on Apple Pie Ridge". Max and Judy know how to treat you right!

Visiting Apple Pie Ridge was home, but without interruption and work to be done. Max and Judy made us feel like part of their family. We could really relax, put our feet up or just take a walk. The food delicious, the rooms comfortable. An overall enjoyable experience!

This lodge is beautiful and your are treated like kings and queens. Food is scrumptious- but the best part are Max and Judy. They know how to include you- or leave you alone- not easy to do. Max has some great stories! We have been about seven times and never tire of it!!

What a great place to relax! We have stayed here 4 times and are rebooking our anniversary stay for the 3rd year in a row. Once you have stayed here... nothing else will do! Great service, wonderful food and Outstanding Innkeepers.

Judy and Max are a fabulous couple! They don't know a single stranger. Their place is an absolutely wonderful haven tucked away in a beautiful part of NE Georgia. If we're ever in their "neck of the woods" again we'll be sure to spend time with them again!

Happened upon the lodge by 'accident' and made a last minute booking. We have stayed in 50+ B&Bs, and this one is in the top 3 by far. Max and Judy (Innkeepers) were wonderful all the way around! Food was terrific and 'presentation' was perfect. Service was impeccable. Scenery is awesome and atmosphere serene. A great experience in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge. My husband and I just spent our 7th anniversary weekend with Max and Judy. This B&B was the best experience and will keep us coming back and time and time again. The breakfast was to die for and the evening desserts were the best. The lodge is amaculate and you forget that you are not at a five star hotel. The best part is getting a chance to sit and talk with Max and Judy, as they share stories of their humble beginnings and the great stories of their children and grandchildren. The lodge is as beautiful as it looks on the website and no one should pass thru the Northeast Georgia Mountains without spending time at the Lodge..... We can't wait to get back.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay with Judy and Max. We spent both evenings drinking coffee and chatting in front of the huge fireplace. They are a great couple! The lodge is done in log cabin style and is tastefully decorated. The hospitality and food are incredible. We highly recommend the Lodge on Apple Pie Ridge for those looking to get away from it all.

My friend and I stayed there a weekend and enjoy a magnificent breakfast each day. The inn keepers were gave the best entertainment while allowing sufficient privacy for us also. We hope to visit again soon.

My husband and I just visited the Lodge for the second time in a year. We visited once last Christmas when the Lodge was beautifully decorated with fresh arrangements. Our visit this past weekend was just as memorable. The leaves are beginning to turn their brilliant colors. The setting for the Lodge is perfect with a wonderful view of the mountains. You can even see deer playing in the field behind the lodge. We stayed in the Winesap room, and it is just as pretty as the photo. Max and Judy Chosewood are such gracious hosts. Judy is an excellent cook. Her evening dessert and morning breakfast are always delicious. I would recommend the Lodge on Apple Pie Ridge as a perfect getaway to anyone visiting the North Georgia mountains.

I discovered this well kept secret by accident on bedandbreakfast.com. The lodge is absolutly incredible! Max and Judy are excellent innkeepers. Great nearby dining (The Attic in Clarksville), close to Helen and other small town adventures. Excellent honeymoon destination or weekend get-away!

If you are within 2 hours of Atlo, Georgia, you must make arrangements for at least a one night stay at the Lodge on Apple Pie Ridge. We found this GEM while researching golf courses in Northern Georgia. Judy and Max have built a beautiful custom log home on a ridge overlooking a gorgeous hollow. You know it is special the moment you turn into the drive leading to the Lodge. The home itself is extraordinary in the architecture and design as it was built specifically as Bed&Breakfast. Judy and Max have decorated thier home to be "cabin-elegant" while so very comfortable and cozy. The initial tour of the Lodge shows the amount of care and detail that was considered from the beautifully designed kitchen, bedroom linens and window treatments to the knick-knacks found throughout. And the food! Daily breakfast, afternoon snacks, and nightly desserts were superb! Southern cooking and hospitality at its very best. We visited for 3 evenings and were so sad to leave. Judy and Max are absolutely delightful hosts and we felt we had made new friends. Our experience at the Lodge completely exceeded our expectations. Get out to the Lodge, you will not be disappointed.
