Very Unsatisfactory!

1.0 on June 18, 2016

After a long day of travel, we arrived at The Olde Savannah Inn at 2:00. We knew that check-in time was 4:00. The owner, Kathleen reluctantly allowed us to leave our bags, saying that they would not fit in the room. (We found out why later.) We walked around the area for two hours and then arrived at the doorstep at 4:00. After knocking several times Kathleen did not open the door. Finally we called her on the phone. It would have been nice if she had allowed us to sit in the living room as it was very hot and humid. We were shocked when she showed us to our room - it was the smallest room imaginable. The bedroom and bathroom were all one with no partition between. The bed was crammed into a corner so that one person was scrunched against the wall. There was trash in the room. There was no cookies or wine as I have read in other reviews. Kathleen could not have been more inhospitable. She appeared to be an unhappy person who felt inconvenienced by us. We appeared for breakfast a few minutes early and were informed that we were 20 minutes early. We only wanted to escape the tiny room and sit upstairs. Kathleen served me a waffle with strawberries and whip cream. I took a few bites while waiting for her to serve my husband. She then rushed in and cut my waffle in half and slopped it onto his plate. There were a couple of pieces of bacon and one sausage for the two of us. She complained loudly from the kitchen the whole time we were trying to eat until my husband told her we had heard enough! We were so disappointed and miserable about the whole experience that we left after one night although we had reserved 3 nights. Kathleen had no problem collecting the entire 3 nights payment and, while we understand that she is running a business, she was not at all gracious about the situation. In the strongest words, I do not recommend staying here.

Memories of Savannah

For our first visit to Savannah, we wanted the perfect southern charm experience and we found it at the Olde Savannah Inn. This is a beautiful historic home in a beautiful neighborhood and conveniently located within the historic district. No need for a car, the best sites are well within walking distance. We stayed in the Provence Room which is tastefully appointed and exceptionally clean. Even the bed sheets were hand ironed! Now for the best part, the breakfasts. Perfectly prepared and presented each morning, the meals are nothing short of delicious. But my favorite part of breakfast was the conversation with other guests, puppies playing on the floor, and our host, Kathleen, taking time from her busy schedule to sit and have a cup of her pressed coffee with us. Thank you Kathleen for giving us exactly what we were hoping to find, you're the best! Don & Sarah

Savannah Charm!

4.2 on April 07, 2016

We loved the location and Kathleen's breakfast is exceptional! Our room was spacious and clean. Our only issues were that the Direct TV did not work in our room and we were never told where to park. We were offered cookies upon arrival, however, there was no mention of dessert later. Perhaps a better welcome talk describing everything would be better.

The perfect combination of elegance, charm, and comfort!

On a long weekend in Savannah, my husband and I decided to try a new inn, after having stayed in the same one a few times. We chose The Olde Savannah Inn and we were not disappointed! The Inn has everything that an experienced B&B guest would want...incredible charm, elegance, warmth, comfort, and close proximity to the wonderful sites of Savannah. The experience was made even more enjoyable due to the warmth and hospitality of the Inn's owner, Kathleen Dupuis and her three charming beagles. When she ushered us in, I felt as if I was being welcomed into her home, she was so lovely and gracious. Our room was beautifully decorated, the bed comfortable, and we especially enjoyed having a fireplace. The breakfasts were incredible (all made by Kathleen) as well. All in all, it was a slice of heaven and I can't wait to go back!

What a perfect getaway!

I booked a last minute trip to Savannah and chose The Olde Savannah Inn to stay at for two nights. After looking at multiple B&B's, I decided to stay here because of a few different things. The rooms all looked so cozy and the attention to detail in them were matched by no competitors. I was also attracted by the photos of the various breakfasts that Kathleen cooks. Upon arrival we were greeted by Kathleen and her three beagles, Sir Bailey Mr. Cooper and Andy. The atmosphere in the home felt like I stepped back in time in Savannah and I immediately fell in love. My girlfriend and I stayed downstairs in the Provence Room and we loved it. The bed and sheets were beyond comfortable and the HUGE walk-in shower was a bonus. We had our own private downstairs entrance which made it nice when we came home late after going on a ghost tour. Kathleen was such a wonderful host and cook that I think she should open her own restaurant. Her take on eggs benedict was delectable and her creme brulee french toast should be award winning. The next time I go back to Savannah there is no doubt in my mind that I will be staying here. I will be looking forward to the next time I get to spend a weekend with Kathleen and the pups.

“Second to None Bed and Breakfast Experience!!!”

5 on July 18, 2015

For anyone wanting to experience the quality of a Bed and Breakfast (B&B) at its best in Savannah, the Olde Savannah Inn provides it all. My husband and I decided to celebrate our 27th Anniversary at a B&B. We spent three nights and three days at the Olde Savannah Inn, which was built in the late 1800s. This elaborate yet quaint B&B is located in the historical district of Savannah and is near many of the key historical sites in the city. Kathleen, the Owner, Inn Keeper and Hostess of the Olde Savannah Inn truly made our anniversary and stay one to remember!!! Our room, “The Provence” Room, was simply beautiful and it provided a true touch of southern comfort. We would not change anything about it. Our day started with a formal breakfast in the dinner room set for four couples. The dinning room setting was set with crystal chandeliers, grand piano, candles and fine china. Breakfast was personally made and served by Kathleen. We can truly say that every breakfast was at a 5 Star level and Kathleen’s special Belgium Waffle recipe and home made whip topping was a memorable treat and a highpoint of conversation for all of the guests. To close out our evenings, freshly bake deserts with the option of coffee, tea or wine were waiting for you upon your return to the room. If anyone is planning a stay in Savannah that is looking for outstanding B&B experience, “The Olde Savannah Inn” will provide a personal touch of class and a historical living adventure. Kathleen and Mr. Cooper (B&B Beagle mascot) truly makes the B&B experience second to none and one that we look forward to doing again in the Olde Savannah Inn when we return to Savannah. Stayed July 2015

Perfectly Savannah

4.8 on April 20, 2015

My wife Nancy and I have stayed at Inn's all over the country, including Savannah. When I booked this trip, I wanted an Inn that was not only 5 star, there are many that make that claim, but also an Inn that had a personal touch. I visited Kathleen's website and it looked to be exactly what we were looking for. The Olde Savannah Inn did not disappoint. Kathleen has really captured the "Southern" charm. From the beautiful flowers and gardens outside to the exquisite decor of the interior, you immediately feel like you're home. Every day of our 4 day stay she made us feel special...exactly what I was looking for. I'm sure every review will rave of her excellent breakfasts because they are second to none! We stayed in one of the rooms on the lower level with no windows and never slept better. One morning my wife had to wake me up for 10:00 breakfast or I would have slept right through it! The best meal we had on our entire trip (Savannah, HH, and Charleston), Kathleen recommended and made the reservations for us at Elizabeth's. Don't miss the opportunity to dine there! Every afternoon we enjoyed a glass of wine on the rockers on the deck overlooking the rear garden. We spent $90 on the garden walk and had nicer flowers and gardens at the Inn. In summary; excellent decor, excellent food, excellent service, and you'll leave having a new friend. Thanks for everything Kathleen and see you next year.

Absolutely Love It!

5 on January 02, 2015

My wife and I stayed at the Inn for our honeymoon in December. We absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. It was evident that Kathleen was very passionate about owning a bed and breakfast and tried her best to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Upon arrival we were welcomed with evening snacks. The next two days we were there, we looked forward to these evening snacks, as they were always delectable home-made treats. We stayed in the Provence room and were not disappointed. The room was quite cozy; the perfect size for the two of us. There was a fireplace beside the bed that was wonderful for the chilly, rainy nights that we experienced while in Savannah. The Inn is in the heart of the historic district. All of the amenities were top-notch. Our favorite things about the Inn were the amazing breakfasts and the loveable Mr. Cooper (Kathleen's loaf of a Beagle). We will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in Savannah

Very Disappointing Experience!

2.0 on December 31, 2014

Kathleen told us upon arrival the inn had been on the market for 2 years. Much deferred maintenance needs to be done. Direct TV had no signal both nights. Found same bath towels used previous night hanging on bathroom door. Questioned our request for a roll of toilet tissue. Slippers provided appear to have been used by other guests. Single serving of dessert provided upon arrival for a couple? She is very unhappy in her situation, however this should not be imposed upon guests. Made a guest feel uncomfortable in the presence of others because she was not counted upon to appear for breakfast. Today, she told remaining guests they would have no room service because she had 2 doctor's appointments. Told us she might have to discontinue serving breakfast in the near future for economic reasons. Have stayed at other B&B's. Never had this experience. Unable to recommend Old Savannah Inn to anyone. Our 1st Anniversary was a major disappointment.

Innkeeper Response
I greet my guests with a warm hug and settle them to their rooms. The property is for sale like most in Savannah. Due to economic situations, we have had to make cuts. Still serve a plentiful breakfast and a dessert daily. Wine and port are always available. I worked 2 hrs to fix their TV. Missed My doctor's appt. I hang towels as I am preserve our natural resources. I have gone green with all the other inns and hotels. I provide fresh towels to those guest who want them. This guest didn't request fresh towels. At room service, I provided a brand new roll, an hour later requested another roll, only an hour after service. Excessive use of toilet tissue for only 1 night (3 double rolls) Not good for plumbing. I serve more than 1 slice of bacon and a sausage. Read all the positive reviews. I had a guest who cancelled breakfast and changed her mind. I did the best I could on such short notice. I believe this guest wouldn't be happy no matter what I did. I apologize for the oversight with the slippers. I will never let that happen again. I hope this guest will be happy in another inn in Savannah. There are some people you will never make happy. I try my best with all my guests but sometimes it is challenging. I encourage you to read my 5-star reviews throught the intenet.
