Enjoyed our stay in St.Marys and the folks at Goodbread House went Above and beyond all expectations to assist us with our visit to Cumberland Island, loaning us a backpack, arranging for a sack lunch at a nearby restaurant and picking it up for us, delivering us to the ferry office in their golf cart--outstanding service! And the afternoon brownies, wine, etc. we're excellent.

Mardja, the owner and host is a wonderful person. She is a pleasure to talk to and will do anything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. She makes wonderful breakfasts. We have stayed there twice and both times were great. I would recommend it to everyone.

The inn itself was nice. The staff was very pleasant and nice. We had plumbing issues the first night and had to be moved downstairs to another bedroom, right beside the front door. My husband is over 6' tall and the bathroom door was only 6 ft. He bumped his head several times. It was dark and hard to see.The food was good, but there could have been larger amounts. We had a nice cake and cake bar to eat for our evening snack the first night. The second night, we had the same cookie bar, it would have been nice to have something different. Maybe fruit, nuts or cheese. They also had red and white wine, which was good. I did not like the dishes from the snack still being out the next morning when we got ready for breakfast. There was not fresh coffee each morning, you had to make your own pot in the eating area. It was difficult to make the coffee because sometimes it had been cleaned and other times not. A single cup pot would make a lot more sense. I also thought that room service could have been better. Our bed was made, but none of the pillows were put back on the bead, and there was a cigar that was left out beside the swing for 2 days. These are all just little things, but if they were addressed, it would make a big difference.

Had a great stay at the Goodbread House. Loved our room, and had great conversation with the other guests over breakfast. Was a perfect weekend get away!

My daughter & I loved our 2-night stay at the Goodbread House. Mardja Gray is a kind & thoughtful host who's also a great cook. Her breakfasts were delicious, and she arranged lunch for us to take on our (excellent) National Park Service tour of Cumberland Island. Our room was clean & comfortable. St Marys ls a lovely, quiet seaside village, well worth visiting on a trip through the Low Country.

Sorry that my husband and I only had a night to spend in this lovely B&B. The hostess was charming, helpful and a good cook, enjoyed the breakfast and the evening desserts! The room (Lancelot and Guinevere) we stayed in was furnished with period reproductions and a comfortable bed.
