The Cottage

We were amazed at all the upscale amenities at The Cottage. The walk-in shower, extra-long bathtub, an exercise room that included a whole-body vibration machine, a full kitchen, beautiful sunroom, upstairs wet bar and high efficiency washer/dryer, sitting room with a flat screen TV with many premium movie channels, a huge bedroom and the biggest walk-in closet I've ever seen, far outclassed any of our previous b & b experiences. Betsy is a wonderful hostess and we appreciated her flexibility in our departure time.

The Cottage is a real find: spacious, yet intimate; quiet, yet close to what you need in Decatur; private, yet Betsy makes herself available if you need anything. By far the best B&B experience I've ever had. One note: if you are looking for the communal aspect of B&B-dom, this is not for you; no breakfast is served in the morning where you commingle with other guests. But if you need, as I did, to eat breakfast privately while getting work done and preparing for the day, this is — just right. Now I need to come back when I can sit outside on the porch...

The Cottage was a delightful change from the usual cookie-cutter hotel and far and away the best B&B I've ever stayed at. I will definitely be calling Betsy the next time business takes me to Atlanta!

I have stayed three times at The Cottage over the past two months while shopping for a home in Atlanta. The Cottage has been a respite at the end of busy, intense days - so much nicer to come 'home' to than even the nicest hotels. Betsy is wonderful, gracious, and attends to our needs with customized breakfast foods (I have dietary restrictions), hospitality, and flexibility with arrival and departure times. The space is open, inviting, and spacious. Kitchen facilities are fully stocked. Everything is clean and well cared for. I wouldn't stay anywhere else, and wish there was a 'Cottage' everywhere I traveled.

I so enjoyed my stay in Betsy's lovely home. True southern hospitality, all new and clean in nice neighborhood and close to downtown Decatur where we enjoyed great food and drink. Thank you Besty!

We had a very nice and pleasant weekend staying in The Cottage. It was spacious, well-appointed, and conveniently located to everything in and around Decatur, GA. With the full kitchen, sitting room, bedroom, sun porch, exercise room, and too many other amenities to list, it is more that a B&B. It is a Bed & Breakfast and Lunch and Dinner, a home away from home. Betsy is a gracious and accommodating hostess and has developed a great B&B.

My wife and I stayed at the Cottage for about 3 weeks as part of our move to Atlanta. If you stay here you are in for a treat. There is much more space than you would expect at a Bed & Breakfast. You actually get a whole house including, 2 bathrooms, bedroom, fully equipped Kitchen and Diner, sitting room and sun room overlooking a lovely terrace. Two TVs, DVD player, Hifi and gym equipment all at a very reasonable price. The whole suite is delightfully decorated, including many antiques, is light and airy and is a lovely quiet place to stay, while being very close to the centre of Decatur, where there are great restaurants and bars, and a short drive to downtown Atlanta. If you are looking for somewhere which would give you an option to cook your own meals this place is fully equipped. Some Bed & Breakfast users will be looking for a cooked, communal breakfast at a set time each day. Here, instead, you will find a very generously stocked fridge offering you choice in terms of what you eat and when you eat it. We much preferred that to a set breakfast time, as it gave us flexibility on our timetable and greater privacy. Betsy, the landlady is a wonderful host and will offer helpful advice about the local area and get you what you want for your breakfast as requested. We left some good quality Yorkshire Tea for future guests so that's another good reason to book the Cottage! For value, location, space and a warm welcome you'll be hard pushed to beat the Cottage.

This spacious, light-filled, beautifully designed cottage was my home for 10 days recently and I so enjoyed my time there. The innkeeper, Betsy, is an absolute delight, so gracious and thoughtful. This cottage is perfectly located too. I loved being surrounded by tall trees, near a small artsy town with amenities, yet still had easy access to downtown. Deborah-California
