Great Stay at the Social Goat

    May 01, 2013

My husband and I stayed at the Social Goat this past weekend in the Third Floor Suite. The room was very spacious and clean. Kristy (the owner) was away for the weekend so her sister and mother were our hosts for the stay. Super nice and loved the southern hospitality. We asked for some dining recommendations near the B&B and Julie recommended Six Feet Under which was only a mile from the house and a great hangout! Breakfast at the house was great and they served fresh eggs from their hens. They had a nice porch that we relaxed on at night. The house is in a rural neighborhood, but only took 15 minutes to get to downtown Atlanta. Would highly recommend staying here and if we are in Atlanta again we definitely know where to stay. Thanks for a great weekend!

    Home Away from Home.

    April 24, 2013

After spending time stuck in Final Four traffic on our way into Atlanta from a relaxing visit to Tybee Island, we had doubts about our decision to vacation in this busy metropolitan area. However, the minute we drove up the driveway to this lovely Victorian, we knew we had made the right choice on lodging! It immediatley felt like home and it is truly a calm oasis in the middle of Atlanta. Kristy was very friendly and so helpful with all our questions about the area, and she prepared the most delicious breakfasts! We stayed in the carriage house which is behind and separated from the house, and overlooks the lovely yard and small barn. The bed was very comfortable and the living area of our suite was spacious and tastefully decorated. The little balcony off the kitchennette/dining area overlooked the patio with a large fountain and outdoor fireplace, and was a perfect place to enjoy some late afternoon wine & cheese. The owners have done an amazing job in enlarging/restoring the home and cleverly incorporating some of the original materials in the new construction. It was a real pleasure to stay here!

    Fabulous Stay, Fabulous Location

    April 17, 2013

Not knowing Atlanta well, I wasn't sure what to expect. The SG was the perfect location for us! Minutes to the zoo and Marta station and about 10 from great food & shopping at Little 5 Points and Virginia Highlands. Kristy was extremely helpful with directions and the breakfasts were really tasty. The goats were so sweet, the roosters & chickens were funny and turkeys up close are quite possibly the most unattractive animals on the planet. The room was great and the bed (in the yellow room) was the best night's sleep I've had in a long time...once we closed the door on a very loud snorer down the hall. We plan on coming back to ATL and when we do, we'll be booking a room at our new favorite B&B! Thanks for everything!

    Best B and B Ever!

    April 10, 2013

Drove into Atlanta for a concert, but Sherman The Goat and his barnyard gang definitely gave the musicians a run for their money when it came to entertainment value! Kristy and Paul were there to greet us for our early arrival request and took us right in to visit with all of the charming creatures who are lucky enough to call this little farm their home. Our group consisted of gals between the ages of 17 and 60 years young and we all were enamored with the picturesque setting and the hands-on experience with the goats, turkeys, chickens, and roosters. The Carriage House was perfect in every way, with an unobstructed view to the animals. Kristy's delicious artichoke and sausage quiche and fruit crisp with goat cheese made for a delectable breakfast, and when she learned a member of our group was a vegetarian, she offered farm fresh eggs as a substitute. Very accommodating! Our only disappointment was that we had not planned a longer visit. We will definitely return when we can take more time to explore the area and just hang out with all of the farm friends we made on this little adventure. Truly an unexpected pleasure!

    April 09, 2013

Our stay at the Social Goat completely met our expectations! The Carriage House was beautiful, comfortable and clean. The animals were a delight, even the Turkeys! Kristy is an exceptional cook and hostess and made us feel so welcome! She is the kind of person that makes you think you have known her your entire life!! We would go again!!!

    Fabulous Wedding Weekend!

    March 25, 2013

We had my daughters wedding at the Social Goat last weekend and I can't say enough good things about it. Kristy the owner went above and beyond to make the wedding perfect and everyone that stayed there feel comfortable. If you are ever needing a place to stay while in Atlanta I highly recommend staying here! Oh, Kristy makes a great breakfast as well.:)

    Lovely stay

    March 24, 2013

We enjoyed a terrific mid-march stay at the social goat. Kristy was a huge help, showing us the bus stop, MARTA station and giving great tips on things to see and places to eat. It was a nice break from the city to get to enjoy the goats, turkeys and chickens. The fresh eggs each morning were fantastic. Great stay!
